I ordered the UT black since it was one of the best sellers! I thought it tasted good and satisfied my craving for ramen but it was nothing special. It's a good spot in the area but I have tried better places in salt lake. Service is phenomenal and place has snacks, drinks, anime decorations, etc. very lively restaurant.

    Gyoza worthy the hype!

This place was full. Good sign. Grab your dessert from the cold case before you sit down. You can also grab a drink there. I didn't expect to find a low-carb option (I'm keto) at a ramen shop, but saw the konjack noodles (aka Shirataki noodles) and opted for that. Konjack noodles have a springy, chewy texture, and they absorb whatever flavor they are in. For a low carb or gluten free option, it was delicious. Great broth and accoutrements. I noted that they had a couple of fun options on upcoming days for a tuna night or a seafood night with reservations on both. The gyoza is famous, and for good reason. It comes out perfectly crispy on the bottom and steamed on top. Clean establishment and attentive service. UT Craft Ramen is in the old Wasatch Broiler location.

It's been a while but we found our way back to UT Craft Ramen for an afternoon snack! The service here is awesome- got seated quickly w/menus and water! They took our order after a few minutes and quickly served our food ! Tonkatsu curry w/ rice was the perfect snack! Loved the curry and the pork cutlet was cooked to perfection! Miso Ramen was so good - loved the noodles! Broth had a ton of flavor! We actually prefer the shoyu Ramen which they don't have on their menu ! It would be an awesome addition. Overall a great ramen stop ! Great service lots of parking !

Stopped in for the 2nd time yesterday. We had the karagae chicken and the ut black ramen. The chicken was good, but we found a bit of kitchen scrubber in the ramen, which definitely put us off the ramen. We notified our server who took the plate and ran back to the kitchen, and offered us some free ramen. We declined, and just asked that the contaminated ramen be removed from our check. After a few moments the mgr came out, apologized and removed the ramen from our bill. He said that "it happens sometimes and they will be more careful in the future.

food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 Don't skip on: Black Garlic Ramen Tried UT craft Ramen and had a great experience! We came as a party of 4 on a weekday and there was no wait. Our order was taken pretty quickly and served quickly. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! We got the black garlic ramen, the spicy ramen and an order of gyoza. So good! The staff were super friendly and the owners came by to check on us to see if we needed anything, which was really nice and showers they cared about their customers. Highly recommended for anyone that needs their ramen fix. I am hoping to catch them one of their special ticket events in the future!

Such a fun spot with amazing staff. Their Ramen is next level so good. Also, Love all their other dishes on their menu so much flavor and great portions. Don't forget about the snacks there's a ton of great stuff from Japan exclusive too They also have some gray anime decor if you're a big anime fan ambience is phenomenal too.

This is such a cute spot. Front entrance is like a little store that you can get some snacks or drinks or even anime things. Inside is really pretty. Little small so I can see it getting packed at busy hours. Service was quick. We were in and out. We got the potstickers and I thought they were okay. I imagined them to be a bit crisper considering how they came out, they were not. Wanted to love them but they weren't anything special in my opinion. I did however love the ramen. My favorite thing besides the broth was the noodles. These noodles tasted delicious compared to other ramen noodles I've had. I think the noodles made the dish for me. I was also used to like thicker meat in my ramen. Here they have thinly sliced pork loin which I was surprised how tender the meat was actually pretty good, It was Both broths tasted similar one was just spicy. Overall a great ramen place.

I feel like it's hard to find a really good restaurant in Utah, let alone something authentic. This place hits both. The ramen is great. The gyoza, karaage, and fried rice were really good too. The fried rice presentation is really fun. My only note there is that it needs to be plated quickly or the egg gets a bit burnt due to the hot skillet it's served in. The friendliness of the staff is super inviting, it feels unique and makes you feel like you're in Japan as you're greeted in Japanese as you come and go. The food came out very quickly too. Great restaurant! Solid 4.7

Value for money: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Food Quality: 5 Customer Service: 5 Look and Feel (Ambiance): 5 Thank you, Come Again?: 5 Winter chills always send me searching for a warm bowl of comfort, and UT Craft Ramen immediately came to mind. I've been here before, but this visit felt different in the best way. The restaurant has made so many fun upgrades and now feels like stepping into a mini Japanese market. Unique snacks, drinks, and figurine toys line the front and walls, and the anime touches throughout the space make it a total feast for the eyes before the food even arrives. I was craving curry ramen this time, and while they didn't have a curry ramen option on the menu, they did offer curry rice plates. I ended up ordering the creamy chicken ramen and adding a side of curry sauce, and it worked out perfectly. As an appetizer, my husband and I shared the 8 piece gyoza, which was pan fried to perfection with crispy edges and juicy filling. The staff here is incredibly welcoming, and you can really feel the passion they have for what they do. They checked in on us multiple times and even chatted about upcoming special events like their Spring Roll Trip special and a guest ramen chef flying in from Japan. It's exciting to see a local spot put so much heart into their craft. Overall, UT Craft Ramen continues to impress. The atmosphere is fun, the food is delicious, and the team clearly cares about creating a great experience. I can't wait for my next visit.

I'd give five stars for the service alone if I could!! Incredible service. Our server Lil Boi was so precious, funny, and attentive. He needs a raise. The food was great! The gyoza was to die for! Price was'nt too crazy either. The environment was SO fun lots of arcade type games and a cute lil shop in the front

The service was amazing!! Even when it was very busy all the staff would go out of their way and greet and welcome you with a hospitality chant as you walk to your table. The atmosphere was cozy ,..almost like I was at a friend's house with anime playing in the back ground on the tv. The Ramen was PHENOMENAL!!! The broth for the UT Red was just every bit of spicy this Louisiana girl needed! The servings were definitely enough to make two meals. We were too full to fit in one of their unique deserts , but we were able to snag some goodies they had to offer! We will definitely be coming back!

In the words of Brigham Young, "This is the right place!" In a word: Authentic. In a second word: Authentic. First, the service is Japanese worthy friendly and polite. Second, the restaurant has a very cool vibe. Now let's get to the food. First the water. Comes in a wired swing top bottle. (See photo) The water is filtered. All the water is filtered because they want their broths to taste just right. The cups are really cool. They have a rounded lip so that it feels comfortable drinking out of them. The gyōza were excellent. (See photo) They import everything. Everything. All their ingredients are from Japan and they make everything from scratch and fresh. Their gyōza wrappers are from Japan because they have the right thinness to them. They make their gyōza fresh everyday. They are not greasy and are cooked correctly (not deep fried). The sauce is the simple shōyu (soy sauce) and sushi vinegar. Tastes so fresh. I had the tonkotsu ramen. (See photo) Absolutely lovely presentation. They make their own char siu pork. They use quality shoulder cuts and trim off excess fat. The fat content is perfect. They have some sort of a special pressure machine from Japan to make authentic ramen noodles. The aijitama (egg) was cooked perfectly. The broth had a good flavor that balanced everything else. They have one of my favorite drinks, the Ramune Creamy Melon. You really need to try it. Wonderful selection of drinks in a lit cabinet as you enter. Also imported Japanese candies and treats as well as anime figurines, also imported from Japan. (See photos) They also have Japanese vending game machines. (See photo) They carry a variety of onigiri as well as Japanese sponge cakes, cheesecakes, shu cremes, and Japanese ice creams. Love the decor, so Nihonteki (just like Japan). There are interesting hanging lamps, one of which is a koi fish. (See photo) The manager loves his job and is very friendly. He is mentored by the owner. UT Craft Ramen hasn't been open very long at the time of this writing. However, the owner has another one in Overland Park, KS and it's name is "KC Craft Ramen." It has 4.6 stars on Yelp and is well-known. When you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted with the traditional "Irrashaimase!" (Welcome!) There were actual Japanese workers there, another plus. You need to check this place out for some of the best authentic ramen in the valley. I will be returning. Conveniently right next to the Cinemark Century Sandy Union Heights. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

This place was AMAZING. Right away, as soon as we walked in - the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. We browsed some super cool products from Japan while we waited for the people who had arrived before us to be seated. Due to the recent opening, they didn't have a couple of the appetizers that we wanted to try, but we got the fried brussel sprouts and they were fantastic! But even better was the ramen! I ordered the UT Black and my wife ordered the Spicy Creamy Chicken. Both were VERY good. The texture was smooth, the flavor was on-point, and the spice level for the Spicy Creamy Chicken was just right. The restaurant itself can get a bit loud - the entire staff welcomes new arrivals and such. So if you're looking for a quiet space... this isn't it. However, it is FUN and exciting! There was anime going on the TV (which I think it awesome and adds to the ambiance). Hands-down, an awesome experience - I will be back! I just wish that I wasn't too shy to practice my Japanese with them LOL!

The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and explaining the menu with patience. The food was mostly excellent. The limited-time Dragon Ball Z ramen was outstanding and one of the best dishes we tried. The JINYA ramen had a flavorful base but could have used a bit more seasoning. Thankfully, the table seasonings made it easy to adjust to our taste. The gyoza were delicious, and the fried chicken portion was surprisingly generous. The takoyaki had great flavor and was among the best we've had in Utah, although we would have liked a little more octopus and slightly less batter. The strawberry and mango lemonades were refreshing but didn't have much fruit flavor, so they were the weakest part of the meal. Prices felt fair for the quality and generous portions we received. Overall, this is a place we would happily visit again and would recommend to anyone looking for good ramen, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

I saw that they offer a non-spicy tonkotsu and a spicy karai ramen, which looked like a spicy tonkotsu, but it had ground pork instead of chashu. I asked to see if I could sub the ground pork for chashu but was told they don't do that. Instead I got the regular tonkotsu and asked for spice on the side, which came as a spice rack. My bf got the shoyu ramen. We both agreed we wished the noodles were a little different (they're a little smaller/thinner than we were expecting), but the flavor of the broth was good, I liked the bamboo and black fungus, and the soft boiled egg was DELISH. I'd be curious to try the spicy karai next time. And I know this is so silly/weird to say, but their water was so good, it needed its own shout-out! I probably drank more water than I had all day in one sitting (and that's on top of all the ramen broth I was drinking!). Honestly, I usually hate drinking water, but it was so good here that I GUZZLED it, and my bf and I both liked it so much, we chugged whatever was left in our cups down before going home! Ambiance is warm, casual, plenty of half booth seats. Service was super attentive (my water glass never got less than half full), and the check and leftover boxes came quickly, as soon as we needed them. I was impressed with how on top of it they were! I'm so used to having to wait a long time or wave someone down for a to-go box or the check, but that was definitely not the case here. Overall, would be interested in trying again! And my bf and I joked about asking for a cup of water to go next time haha.
