62704 beware. I'd give zero stars if I could. My package delivery man (different from the regular…read moremail), delivered three packages to my home the other evening at 7:45pm. He must have been tired because he threw all my packages to my door. Apparently he couldn't be bothered to walk the extra 3-4 feet, lean forward, and place them on my porch. Most irritating was my third package, that he literally THREW from the sidewalk, despite the fact that it had large red "fragile" stickers on literally every side of the box. Really pissed me off. I understand being tired. It was almost 8pm, he probably had a long day. But how about some common courtesy? How about next time just put it off until the next day? What would he have to say if he watched this happen to one of his packages? I bet he'd feel some type of way. It's all on video too. The next day I went to three locations to make a complaint. When I got to the third location (Wabash), which was the correct location to make the complaint, the supervisor couldn't be bothered to walk out and speak with me at the counter. Instead she had the employee give me a sticky note with her email address. After my third email to her, I finally got a half-a$$ response. Smh. Tried to post video for you guys (it's really something to see), but yelp doesn't allow video. So here is a screenshot of him throwing my FRAGILE package. Damn shame, huh? Made a formal complaint with USPS, but never heard back about that.

Yes, they have handicap parking but you will regret the walk if you don't use a wheelchair and have trouble walking a distance. There is no option for someone to drop you off at a door - you are required to walk up the sidewalk - you still have to walk a distance. Not ADA compatable. All other offices in the city that did have useable handicap access have been closed because of this building. I am rating the building design, not the employees. The employees are great!

Lots to see and it is free but donation is appreciated. Learned so much about the capital and everything is original and lots to see. Could easily spend a couple of hours here. From the beautiful building to the old office how it used to be back in the Supreme Court. We enjoyed ourselves and our family learned a bit about our history.

It was to the same chamber, in May 1865, that his body was returned to lie in state, arriving from Washington, D.C., prior to final burial in Springfield's Oak Ridge Cemetery.

This statehouse was not used very long, but Lincoln was in here when he was alive. It was also the last place he lay in state before they closed the coffin and buried him and his son Willie in the Springfield cemetery. We enjoyed the Underground Railroad display and stories in the old Supreme Court Chambers. This place is kind of big and you can schedule at least an hour to see everything. As of June 2025 it's open Thursday through Saturday.
