Trying to save a 20-mile trip (one way) to the Banner Elk office I attempted numerous phone calls to the direct number and true to form...no one answers. Not unusual for this location. If I could give a zero, I would. I had two urgent packages from Amazon that were supposed to be delivered on Sunday. Not only they were not delivered, but they were, in a matter of 1 hour, based upon on the tracking history, returned to sender!! I did not even have the curtesy option to come and get the packages from the post office? On top of that, I am calling during business hours the next morning and they do not answer the phone. If I could stop using USPS for all my shipping needs, I totally would. I am going to provide that feed-back to all and any shippers I deal with going forward even if I have to pay shipping or pay more. It is beyond poor customer service and sadly, it is not the only post office that does not deserve my business. read more

THE WORST POST OFFICE IN NORTH CAROLINA.! For starters they give you attitude when you question them about not getting your mail. I was told by a female employee that she would have to "dig through packages" to find my mail. To which I replied "you mean do your job" then was promptly hung up on. I've had 4 packages in the past 2 months delivered to the wrong address. Then when confronted about it. The female employee. Which I'm assuming was the same one who hung up on my. Laughed and said that he must not be wearing his glasses. WTF!!!!! Seriously. This place is a joke and needs a serious staffing change. read more

By far the best and friendliest Post Office ever!! I was trying to decide where I wanted to settle for the second half of life and after visiting Banner Elk and stopping by the post office, I made up my mind right then and there. The employees are so helpful and kind. I observed them many times going out of their way for customers and they know most by name. I have never written a review like this but I had to after I have experienced only the best service in every way at the Post Office in Banner Elk! It's the people that make the town! read more

The worst! Have had several instances where packages get returned to sender. Mailbox is right at the main road, do I don't understand. Only about 50% of my packages get delivered, if i'm lucky. Then, they are absolutely NO help in store. read more

Absolutely best post office ever!! Some of the friendliest employees ever even they they are being overworked because of all the Amazon orders. Susanne is the BEST!! She even offered to order special stamps that I was in love with but they ran out of-- what a treat! Believe it or not this post office also has some of the best greeting cards too! Great little local post office with excellent service! Conveniently located downtown with a large parking lot!

Worst delivery service ever. To lazy to get out of truck to deliver packages to the house. They left an $800 leather jacket sitting on the ground against the msil box on a busy highway. Totally incompetent. read more
