The moment came! The anticipation built! The instant of 1:31pm on the summer solstice, June 21... we were here to witness it! I was first to arrive. A dozen came. Some came late... better luck next year!
93F! Extreme humidity! Partly cloudy!? The clouds had to part and let the sun shine to see the effect! Would we be lucky? Boon, Grace and I would find out!

This unique sculpture was built in 1995... the artist was Nancy Holt! There are also five key Florida dates in bronze plates embedded in the ground including the day in 1513 when Ponce De Leon from Spain first sighted Florida. Another date is in 1849 when Tampa was established. A third date is July 20, 1969 when humans landed on the moon!
