I went to go mail a package and I've never mailed anything before but the tape was coming off a little and the woman working there started yelling at me and told me to buy tape so I did. While getting the tape she told me "no not that one" in an aggressive tone and laughed at me with other customers and while giving me back my change she just waved at my face and said "HERE HERE " and she saw that I was doing something. I felt humiliated and embarrassed. She didn't treat the other customers like that maybe because I'm young and thought I was dumb and wasn't paying attention to what I was doing but I was. All I wanted to do is mail a package not get made fun of. After I left I was sad and started crying. No one should have to experience this after only wanting to mail a package. workers have attitudes from the post master down to the creature in the front on her cell phone. don't recommend doing business here. once you start filming their attitudes they change and attempt to be nice. disrespectful isn't even the word. whoever hired these people to serve the community should be ashamed of themselves. that's what happens when you hand a hood rat from from a project building a government and civil service job. 1 star. wish I could give less. watch out for the Cookie Monster in the front Desk. if your packages go missing I wouldn't put it past them being responsible. I have lived in Sleepy Hollow since 1982, and I have used the Tarrytown Post Office on numerous occasions. Previously, I have had a good experience at the Tarrytown Post Office. Today I arrived at the post office at 9:00 and was the only person waiting to get in. I was kept waiting after 9:00 while two postal workers talked to each other. At some point, one of the workers went to the far door and unlocked it. I went over to that door and entered the post office. Two women were working the two booths or stations--I do not know how the PO designates these work areas. I walked up to the only station where a woman was working since the one who opened the door had not yet arrived back in her booth. I was told to get back and wait for the second woman to arrive. I apologized in a normal voice for not knowing that the first woman was not working because she appeared to be working. The second woman started complaining about my response and continued to browbeat me in a strange way. I had brought in two emails that I had received about packages that were delivered to the Tarrytown Post Office. She told me that I needed special help and was told to wait at the blue door for the supervisor. I was the only person at the post office. I waited at the door for the supervisor. During the twenty minutes I was there, only one other man walked in, and I heard him tell the woman that he was happy she was smiling because another person he had encountered there was mean to him. Even though I was the only person at the post office after he left, I waited for some time, and the supervisor arrived. She took my two emails and said that she would look for the packages. I waited for about ten minutes, and I asked the woman who had been negative to me if she could check on how long it would take to get a response about the emails that I had brought because I had another appointment. She complained about my request and told me that she could not find the supervisor because there were so many people working at the post office, and I would just have to wait. So the net effect was that it took over twenty minutes for them to tell me that the packages had already been delivered to our house. I felt that the woman postal worker, whose name I didn't find, had engaged in perverse ageism and reverse-racism to an untenable degree. I will avoid going to the Tarrytown Post Office in the future unless I am forced to go for some official business. I have had great experiences at the Sleepy Hollow Post Office where Jackie is kind and magnanimous, and the workers are industrious and helpful. read more

This review is about a clerk, Camille, at the Tarrytown NY post office. She clearly hates her job. She is angry, unprofessional and condescending. This has happened before, and each time my request was basic. "Can I have the receipt?" She replies "Wait!" with a scowl. The most recent time was horrendous. We called out politely and patiently for a few minutes. Then, she came out from the back to release anger big time Camille's tone and words are that of an unruly teenager, the worst. It's the post office. Sometimes its fine, sometimes its the worst. Generally it's the patrons that have no idea what they want or what to do, but there are definitely some employees who are clueless and have bad attitudes. This branch definitely could use an automated kiosk. Waiting on line inside due to covid is awfyl, as it becomes a viral schvitz, but its usually not thay crowded. Never go on a Saturday. All that said, USE THE USPS...it' a public good and we shouldn't let private equity, corporate interests, and greedy, bottom-feeding, Republican lobbyist and opportunist scum destroy an institution that actually works well. read more

Avoid this post office. 2 bad experiences. First time they wanted me to fill out a customs form for mailing a birthday card overseas (it was a regular envelope). I said no thanks, and mailed it from a different post office no problem. Second time I wanted to buy 24 stamps to mail letters. The lady said they could not sell me 24 stamps, only 40 because they are sold in blocks of 20. She was unequivocal in her view she was right. When I said I didn't want 40 stamps and asked what would happen if someone turned up wanting to mail just one letter she admitted it would be possible to sell them a stamp. However she still refused to sell me 24. Only when her boss intervened did she deign (with no grace and a lot of scarcasm) to sell me the 24 stamps. Avoid this post office. If there is another one in the area where the staff are friendly, would appreciate hearing of it! read more

People hate on the post office a lot. But I actually have had good experiences every time I go to this one. I had a package that was missing my address, so I called them to make sure they held it at the post office for me. The employee who helped me was very accommodating/understanding and before it even arrived to their location, she made sure I was able to get the package held. I highly prefer this one over the one in Elmsford...the folks here are much friendlier and more helpful. 4 stars is only cause the employees are pretty chatty and occasionally they are just talking to each instead of helping customers. read more

I had an issue with my carrier. He was stacking the packages for the entire apartment building in front of my door, which was the only one that led outside the building. It was sometimes so heavy I couldn't open my door. I tried not to make a big deal out of it but then he left my wedding invitations outside in the rain. They were destroyed. I called corporate and launched an investigation which resolved nothing. Recently, I came in to inquire about a package I was supposed to receive. the woman at the front desk Jacqueline was speaking to a friend (the young police woman who walks up and down the street giving tickets) about church and kept waving her hand at me. She insisted on having me wait for another employee who never came. Then yelled at me in front of everyone else in the post office for not answering her questions to her expectations. She was incredibly rude and condescending. I left and called corporate again to file a complaint. This morning I called the Tarrytown post office to talk to a manager. The postmaster, Robin, answered the phone telling me there was nothing she could do about my package, that corporate would not do anything about my complaints, and that it was my word against her employee, Jacqueline regarding her rudeness to me. Now I'm out over $1000 and the post office has not tried to rectify the situation with even anything as slight as a kind word or explanation.
