On June 8, 2023, I gave two change of temporary address order cards to the P.O. clerk and showed her my driver's license card. She said, okay! My husband and I were out of state on June 10th. We hadn't received letters at all. On June 29th, I got a letter dated June 17, 2023 from Post Office stating that it requires additional identity verification before being activated. What??? I already came in person at the P.O.on Hovley Rd on June 8th. On June 30th, my husband and I had to show the P.O. letter to the P.O. clerk in Santa Fe, NM. He did check his computer and it's good to go. On July 10th, we went to the P.O. again and told the P.O. clerk that we haven't received any letters at all. He did check the computer showing that it was deleted. My goodness! What a lousy postal system!!! read more

It's decent! Not the most efficient post office in the valley, but it still gets the mail sent most of the time. I have experienced a few issues where this post office claims to have a package of mine but doesn't, or they claim that it was attempted delivery but it wasn't, so dealing with stuff being returned to senders has to take off a star. Also had to take a star off for Shelly's trump sticker on her phone she likes to make sure people see. That's weird. read more

This post office is dangerous. If you really value your mail and packages, DO NOT USE THEM! I can only assume people posting positive reviews do not use them very often. I have had a po box here for 5 years. In that time they have misdelivered packages 4 times, misdelivered or lost my mail over two dozen times. If you try to call them they let the phone ring until u give up or they answer, don't say anything, put you on hold and then disconnect the line.If you value your identity, your valuables and getting important documents and mail, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Read the reviews. Everything has already been said about this useless Post Office at 74801 Hovley Ln E. In Palm Desert, CA 92260. It has been said for years and nothing happens to improve it. It is a disgrace to be using my tax dollars for such a non-functioning place. No phone and no service. Did all I was told to do and NO mail forwarded all summer while I was gone. Did a summer of constant calls to everywhere related to the postal service and 3 and a half months with no mail and no one gave a damn. Disgusting! Dump this useless stupid thing called the Postal Service and go Private. Cost more but at least you will be able to call and hopefully get some service. With this current system it is useless. This year I jumped through all the stupid hoops you do to get mail forwarded. I did this on March 5, 2024 at 3:52pm and have heard nothing. Is this going to be another summer of hell with no bills arriving and having to call everywhere each month to find what I owe? Insurance you didn't know you owed and pay late charges. I'm kind of surprised to see the poor reviews this place gets. I've only ever been here a couple of times because I've just moved to town earlier this year. There always seemed pleasant and happy to help me. I moved her from Anaheim and my regular post office was the Sunkist Station. Okay, let me just say first off that there exists an absolutely fantastic individual that does an amazing job at this facility every day. This is a man named Frank. I called USPS earlier on in the day to question why my package was not delivered, and what options I had. To sum it up, I had to call the local facility and figure out what was going on. I'll be honest, I checked this Yelp and several reviews of the facility and was very discouraged at my possible options in picking up the package today. But luckily, my call was answered by Frank. Outright friendly and always willing to help in what can only be described as the best customer service that I have EVER experienced at a government facility, Frank helped me calculate my options and, long story short, he was able to connect me with my package from Great Britain. I wanted to thank him in person, so I waited in a separate line for a service window that he was taking care of, and he was every bit as nice of a person in reality as he was on the phone, but it was absolutely disheartening to watch him deal with an irate elderly man who was screaming at him for an issue about $0.50 worth of stamps. It was amazing to see Frank still trying to be as cheery as he was with me deal with this type of person daily. Nothing but my utmost respect for this man and the facility. I don't know if I was lucky, but I do know that Frank is an amazing employee. So, thank you again for everything Frank. And I do hope your 2018 turns out fantastic! Keep helping people in the way that you do at this facility, and it will get better because of people like you. read more

I love this post office. Been around long enough to know and be on a first name basis with all of them. They're so personable and willing to help! I've observed all of them at least once having to deal with a difficult customer. They handle the situation with calm, attentive care. It was really sad for all of us "regulars" too when Carl passed on. He had this huge booming voice that he would address all that walked in with a "Hello, (and your name if he knew it." It was just a somber atmosphere in the PO for quite some time after he departed this world. I peek in from time to time if I get a cert and say hello to everyone. Staff is so rude, lackluster, & slow slow slow. Usually one human manning the front & a line clear to the door! They don't care. All the bad reviews on here are true. They literally screw up mail deliveries all damn day. MULTITUDE of packages of mine just sent back as "undeliverable" when the address is plain as day. I really do not know what to do anymore. Been trying to get a hold of ONE person for over a month. I filed a complaint with Ana because of missing mail. Now they are throwing our mail over into our backyard, into wet mud, packages getting thrown over our fence into our trash cans and no one has been able to help me. Either our carrier is confused on how to deliver mail or irk what's wrong with them?! Any packages we order from Amazon say they can't be delivered and now we have to constantly pick them up from the post office, then when we drive there they tell us they don't have it or it's out for delivery. What kind of crap is this. I'm fed up. I call everyday and no one answers. My fiancé and I are home sick and can't leave the house. We have medicine that we now have no clue how to get. I have not received any mail for three days and I have bills coming. They do not answer the phone and when I went in personally I was told everything I have coming is out for delivery, which is obviously wrong because I have notices of what's coming from July12-16 and none has arrived. Cipriano, the supervisor I spoke to today should not be in customer service as he could care less about individual needs as he explained to me I have the entire valley to service and can't be concerned about your issue. The issue is this, we live in a HOA which has grouped mail boxes with 2 parcel boxes below which have been a constant broken issue the five years I've lived there. I understand the never working parcel boxes are the responsible of our HOA but what I don't understand is WHY you will not deliver packages to our doorstep per our request as we are paying for the delivery. So they continue to put packages in 2 broken parcel containers and refuse to deliver to our door. I also shared with him my medication was in that locker and could someone come out and open. He said NO. I plan to take further action. read more

Went in to complete my passport application process and drop off all my documents to get my application sent out and received the best service from, Maribel. She helped me make sure I filled everything out correct and went over my form with me to see if I spotted any errors. She was very friendly and helpful, and provided me with great service as well as reassurance of any concerns I had. Quite literally the worst postal service I've ever felt with. I've had to come in several times over numerous different issues; not forwarding mail, packages being lost or misplaced, and the last incident in where they marked my delivery as "undeliverable" and shipped it back to sender!! I checked with the sender and they confirmed address was correct! To top it off, I need this package for an event in attending Saturday and I'll be screwed without it. I'm so tired of having to go to the post office several times a month because they don't know how to do mail properly. I'll be searching to see if I can reach internal affairs about this. I have ordered and paid for about a dozen click and ship / package pick-up..in the last 3 years that you pre pay, receive an email that your order is taken, date of pick up and a WEC confirmation number with all info.. 2 times the packages in almost 3 years has been picked up as the confirmation stated correctly and on date was supposed to.... the rest,10 or so, it takes a week to get a response as to why a delivery person parks 50 feet from my apt. patio where the item is , and doesn't pick it up, ..and now it's supposedly Covid related..( remember 3 years) while he/she still deliver mail 50 feet from my front door to approx. 160 mail boxes 6 DAYS A WEEK at the approx. same time,.. I sent a complaint to the Postmaster General's office today.. but still have not received an email , saying they have received it and are looking into this..one manager at this branch who was involved with 5 incidences in a row..said ** gee maybe you should get in your car and bring it here yourself*.. and if not disabled I would,JB as this office is atrocious , and bet this package will still be not picked up 3 days from now.. when it will be late... I don't have a post office box here, so this review is for the services desk only. The staff at this location have all been top notch professional and efficient every time I go in. I've experienced post office service counters in my life that have been manned by slow, apathetic individuals, but the workers here are friendly, fast, and efficient. Also, my neighborhood carrier, Matthew, is amazing. He has been very helpful when I've flagged him down with questions or requests. Not happy with this post office. I had my mail held for over 2 weeks in October while on vacation. When I returned and went through my mail I realized that two checks that were mailed to me in early October, my Verizon bill and a bank statement were not there. They arrived 4 weeks after they were postmarked! On October 22 I mailed a VISA payment to Wells Fargo for a payment due Nov. 7. It still has not arrived. Their parking entrance needs to be widened, or at least they should paint the curb so that people don't damage their cars. I accidentally hit the curb and popped my tire which cost over $200 to fix. The roadside assistance attendant told me that he has come to this location several times for the exact situation. It would be nice if they cared enough about their customers to remedy the issue. On a positive note, one of the employees was kind enough to loan me her personal cell phone to call for help. read more

I have never had such customer service in my life. MARIBEL was the employee "helping" me. I have a business selling collectible cards such as baseball cards or Pokémon cards. I have shipped hundreds of cards so I know how to ship, the post office policies and what not. When I went to go ship out my items as I do almost daily Maribel told me she not able to ship my items out with tracking. I'm confused because as I said I have shipped hundreds of packages out packaged exactly like this. I asked her why, she told me that my shipping envelope was not thick enough, she then brought out the tool the employees use to see if the items are thick enough to ship out, or if I would just need to send my envelopes with stamps. She kind of threw it at me/slammed it on the table and told another customer to come to here in the middle of me talking. She refused to talk to me or answer any questions and I felt like I was dealing with a 5 year old playing the silent game. What I was trying to show her was that my packages would not even fit through the smaller slit. Not even close. My cards were wrapped in layers of bubble wrap and it was a bubble wrap envelope so it was pretty thick. I then just waited patiently until she was done with the customer she rudely took ahead of me while I was speaking. After she was done I showed her that my packages would not fit in the smaller slot (which if it's to big for that slot then they HAVE to send it as a package with tracking.) She told me I'm a liar?? Which was very odd considering I was right there proving it to her, she then went on to tell me I have been cheating and stealing from the post office because I have been shipping out my packages with tracking. Which again I don't understand because I'm actually spending MORE money shipping them with tracking versus me just using stamps?? I'm not sure if she high on drugs or under the influence of something because she was just acting very odd, and lashing out on me calling me a thief when all I'm doing is trying to pay money to ship out my packages. I'm very appalled with the customer service at this post office and I will be getting in touch with anyone I can at the Post office until I can assure that this employee's actions are handled appropriately. read more

I come to this post office daily so I consider myself knowledgeable about the customer service here. First and foremost I want to say that the agents working behind the counter are genuinely kind people. However it is a complete failure of management at the post office for not scheduling enough people to handle the workload at this location. The lack of staffing creates a backlog of patrons from 830 in the morning until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. read more

This place is the worst ever. I dropped Christmas cards off at the post office one with a gift card in it for my sister back east. That day the card was used in Indio. Ca at several places.The other cards I mailed with that one made ti to there distentions. Tow months ago I got a Hawaiian Airline card. When it came in the mail the letter was open. I cancelled the card and they sent me a new one. That envelope was open also. I had to cancel that card too. Hawaiian sent me anther card by fedex. Someone in that office is doing illeag stuff. Staff is always pleasant and professional. A few times I've had to wait in line but it moves along efficiently. The location is good too because you have a traffic light that allows you to get on Hovley without getting hit by the fast moving vehicles. Irma has horrible attitude and customer service. She was being the sweetest to an elderly female ahead of me and spent over 30 minutes with her. And when it was my turn she was nasty and quick to dismiss me without answering any questions regarding my passport.
