Last week I mailed a letter to a teacher at Sumner High School in Sumner Washington. This is small town with a big high school on Main Street right in town. There is a high school sports stadium and practice fields right on Main Street. The address is 1707 and I inadvertently wrote 1701 as the address. I realize that this is probably the address for the baseball practice field but instead of returning it with 'address can't be found' don't you think they could have just delivered it to the main office with all the other mail that was addressed to Sumner High School. Evidently not, so I had to pay another 49 cents for another 'chance' of delivery. Whatever happened to customer service? No wonder people don't like to use the Postal Service. read more

This post office in the Monta Vista area of Cupertino appears to have some issues that do not depend upon efficiencies or the attitude nor work ethic of the employees here. On many occasions, people like me have been in this store, as I am a heavy USPS user and typically send things through the mails instead of internet or private courier (even though the cost of alternatives is the same,) though this place is so busy sometimes that lines can seem interminable: A little like a post office overseas, and part of the reason might be the help here minds "p's and q's" and the like and most of the patrons here are impatient working people. A good post office that might get a bad rap due to location and business timing considerations - remember this place is out at the end of Stevens Creek. read more

The older Asian lady with glasses and slightly curly hair is very rude. I asked her the rules about media mail(it has lower fees than regular mail) so that I can decide whether I should try to mail some of my mails as media mail in the future. She is very impatient and passive to answer my questions, and saying things like you just pay postage, then it will be sent. Of course I know that I pay the postage, then it will be sent. I want to know what the rules are so I can try the way suitable for me to do it. it is insulting as if I can not afford the fees. I have been going to this post office before since it is close to where I live, this Asian lady seems has this rude attitude to ordinary people like me. I saw her talk to some white lady friendly. I also encountered rude treatments from another Asian lady named Nancy in this post office. Why can't I post 0 stars for this place? Can't stand this post office! The staff is very very very rude. I had packages that came in and were all torn up and looked like they were opened. I even found a piece of candy in my package and just happened to be the same candy one of the worker was eating. I complained to the person in charge and they didn't seem to care and brushed me off. I'm starting to notice that any mail that I send out seems to get to its destination late. I brought up that concern and again they didn't care. They told me that it's normal. Normal? Is it normal for a certified letter to take 17 days to get to Texas? Was it being delivered by pony express? I could have walked it there myself and back with time to spare. USPS is a ridiculous company that I've had more than a few bad experiences. I tried to get information on the status of a package forward, called the 800 number, got transferred to the local post office, got re-transferred to the other local post office, got transferred to three different clerks, before I finally got absolutely no new information. Clerks were all rude, abrupt, and not at all helpful. No one would tell me if my package was on its way to a new address. read more

Very rude clerk named Nancy. She brusquely slipped across a priority mail label I asked for (kiosk poorly stocked or out of supplies), then told me I should have waited for her before affixing it. Um, I can't read your mind. I told her she was speaking rudely and she said that is how she speaks and she was trying to make my package look nicer than I had it. So basically she is insulting me in addition to providing subpar customer service. I moved to another clerk and though I am an ABC, I understand enough to know she was taking about me to the new clerk in both Cantonese and then Mandarin. Seriously need training in how to deal with people. You can get away with rude customer service in Asia, but not here. The man before me was annoyed with this clerk too. She spoke rudely to him saying she did not have change for a 20 and said she could only take a smaller bill or CC. It is her tone and facial expressions. She asked if he wanted cash back then said she had no cash to give, but had to offer or she would get in trouble. Sounds like she does not belong out front with customers. Based on the other complaints, I will definitely track my package and make sure there isn't any foul play. Lots of people have "lost" packages at this PO. I will never go there again! Sent in a request to have mail forwarded for 2 months starting on 6/19/15. Sent the request 6/9 and received confirmation via email the same day. Still received first class mail on 6/22. Spoke to carrier on 6/22 and told him not to leave any mail. Still received first class mail on 6/23!!!!! I called the post office and asked why? She didn't know but would speak to the carrier. I don't think anybody there understands english. It's no wonder people have such a negative opinion of federal employees. read more

A couple months ago, I shipped first class mail because it said 1-3 biz days, two weeks later, the lady at the phone said they don't guarantee 1-3 days so two weeks seems to be acceptable service on a 1-3 day service so she said I should have used Priority mail, this time around, I did (priority Mail 2 day), that was 5 days ago, I gave this people a chance so many times, it blows my mind that they are still in business, will see how long read more

This review is specifically for Kiera (sp?) This is the first USPS office I've gone to that caters to customers finishing up their packages before they even get in line. I was mailing something to the Netherlands and she helped me pay for everything with her mobile devices. When I finished, I went to the Subway across the street and realized I had left my roll of tape that I paid for at the post office. When I got back to claim it, the Asian man at the front was very rude when I asked him. Especially cause when I got there, he was already yelling at another lady. When Kiera came from the back, she was surprised to see me return and I saw that she was going to MAIL me back my tape that I left using my return address from my package! Very honest woman. Definitely a stand out in a place that suffers from lack of customer service or basic common courtesy. read more

The postal carrier who delivers mail to the homes on Bret Ave. mishandles my mail frequently. I have had to put a big sign on my front door so he/she does not put packages on my doorstep. I work as a special education teacher and I, myself, am handicapped. I have repeated had packages stuffed into my mailbox or left on the ground. The final straw was last night when a package was too large to stuff into my mailbox, it was left out on a plastic box that is located near the mailbox. It rained while I was at work. The box was soaked. I have a covered porch and a specific spot under that covered porch where packages are supposed to be left. That package contained electronic equipment destined for my classroom costing me over $40. I do my job to the best of my ability. If this is the best the post office can do, this is indeed a sorry state of affairs. Either do the job right or let someone who can, do it. I would complain directly to the Cupertino Post Office, but they only post a phone number as a way to contact them and of course, they are not open now. read more

The post office ALWAYS has long lines. I once had a package I had to sign and I drove 5 miles to only see that my package is still in the mailman's vehicle which wasn't stated on the letter telling me to go to the post office, so I wasted a 1/2 hour there. Parking can be a problem. read more

Grew up in Cupertino and I don't know why this location has so many bad reviews. I have fond memories of this post office where the service people have saved me money by recommending to mail books with media mail, sent college applications through registered mail, mailed tax returns and saved money. Their suggestions have always saved me money and given me options. I have even sent packages to Tanzania through this location for a brother that's in peace corps and it got their before Christmas! The staff have directed me to forms I needed to fill out and told me not to wait in line again. Other post office locations, you don't even know, will purposely steal packages. The Cupertino location, I have not had packages get lost like that. read more

Talk about inadequate service -- I called for an appointment to just drop off a completed replacement passport application (offered 5 days per week, 5 hours per day) and was told the next available appointment was 35 days from now (Jan. 26 from Dec. 22)! I think I'll pay a couple of bucks to have a reputable shipping company get it there in a couple of days. 35 days is longer than it typically takes to get it fully processed and returned. read more

I had a very bad first time experience with this location. As my envelope had an area that had not sealed securely I expressed a concern and asked employee "Lamson" if he would place a small piece of tape over it or if I could be provided a small piece. He denied my simple request, shrugged his shoulders and responded with "oh well!" Was not expecting such a cocky response. Reiterated my request once again. He flipped the unsealed area and was again very uncaring in his attitude. Stated "You won't need it but the post office sells tape." I have never encountered such a cocky, uncaring postal employee. Or perhaps just too lazy to reach over for a 2"piece of tape. Did not feel this to be an unreasonable request. I've seen conscientious, caring employees offer this small service to customers without even being asked. Apparently it was far too much to ask of you Lamson. You are probably a significant reason as to why this location has such low approval ratings. read more

sadly - i totally agree with the rest of the reviews. i have actually worked closely with usps in the past and the cupertino office provides such a poor customer service that the postmaster general should look into this. the previous poster was correct - there is 1 super friends asian lady who works in the far left station, but everyone else has the worst attitude and provides an "interrogation" like experience when shipping a package. Not only will I never come to this post office, but I actually recommend that a few be replaced. That's how poor I believe their service is. The service in the 13120 area is pathetic & has been for years. Complaining to the overpaid postmaster gets no results as you are directed elsewhere, since no one in their hierarchy will take responsibility for mistakes nor correct them. Parcels or packages are never delivered on Fridays nor Saturdays, & the carrier only leaves those pink/peach forms stating that no one was home, regardless if multiple people are at my home the entire day. So any complaints from the Post Office about their woes fall on my deaf ears due to their horrible, sanctimonious & condescending establishment. read more

Rude post office. Rude manager that I had to deal with once, trying to find a package in my PO box. They also refuse to scan prepaid packages sometimes and I always get a kind of dirty look when I wait in line and bring a prepaid package up to the counter.
