I needed a garage door spring replaced. They were courteous and allowed me to schedule when I needed to due to a week of appointments. The spring they replaced with is perfect and they went a step further to lube the tracks on both doors. The value was awesome and truly amazing. The price you pay depends on length so since ours was bigger it was $550. Totally worth it. read more

I have a side wall mount garage door opener and recently it came off the shaft. I tried tightening the collar myself and after maybe 10 times of opening and closing the garage, it would come loose. I had several companies that came out, one just told me he would get back to me and never did. And the other guy just came and didn't even look at closely and just told me it would cost $1800 to replace the garage door opener. US Overhead asked me what the issue was and asked me to send them pics and then came out the next day and was able to fix it in less than an hour. And the price was very reasonable. Saved me a ton of money trying to get some other company to do it. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to any of my friends and family. read more

Many years ago, l used this company to repair my garage door. Because I was so pleased l called them again. Although the owner told me he no longer serves Chicago, he agreed to send someone out since l was a previous customer. His 18 year old nephew and another worker came out the second day after l expected someone. He said he'd tried to call me but there was no answer. Knowing that my cell phone was shaky, l let it go. After the nephew and the other worker examined the door, they tightened the screws and installed a new opener. However, the door sounded rickety, and was slow and shaky. When l questioned why, l was told that the door was old and should be replaced, at least within the next 2 years. Then when l realized they were leaving l asked about operating the new system. The nephew, with a smile, told me to download the app and read the instructions. Immediately, they packed up their things, and left with their ladder and my $342.00. Within a few minutes, l realized that they also had not installed a working light bulb in the new ceiling opener. I immediately called the nephew's cell, left a message. No one returned my call. At my age (71) l knew not to find something to step on to reach the ceiling. So l stood in the doorway while my repaired door shook its way up and down closing me inside an area left pitch black. I finally remembered that there was an inside light not connected to the opener. I will not recommend this business. read more

Experts in identifying issues and service with a smile. Responsive and ontime, it was good to have someone who was expert at their craft.

I had a broken spring on my garage door and my vehicles were stuck inside. Called Gary from US overhead door at 9 AM on a Sunday and he was there within the hour. Gary replaced both springs and adjusted the garage door opener and remounted the bracket arm on my door. His price was better than competitors and in a word Gary was awesome. I will recommend Gary to everyone. read more

What a great experience in a moment of panic. When the garage door came off the track, I look up a repairman and found this company. Gary, the owner, was very nice and accommodating, and worked with my schedule, coming over the same day I called. He worked quickly, and was able to fix the door without a problem. He then told and showed me what the problem was, and how to keep it from happening again, which I really appreciated learning about. The price was beyond fair, much cheaper than I originally would have guessed. If I ever have a problem again, he'll be the first guy I call! read more

The job is not yet complete but I cannot be more impressed with the response time and customer service provided by Gary, the owner. He called me back within minutes of me leaving a message. He was able to stop by my house that same day (I was just lucky his day wasn't full-can't expect that all the time) to work on my problem. Gary diagnosed the problem and placed an order for the part I need. Once the part is in I should have a fully functional garage door again. I give U.S. Overhead Door my highest marks for customer service, responsiveness, and knowledge. read more

Our very old garage door opener was from the pre-safety sensor age. We're in the process of selling the house and agreed to add a safety sensor as part of the conditions of the sale. Unfortunately the old opener was not able to just have a sensor added. We needed a new unit. Gary was able to do the job promptly and at a reasonable price. What a relief! We don't want to put a lot of $$$ into this house because we bought it at pre real estate market crash prices and we're selling it at post crash prices. The price quoted was the price charged, no surprises. read more

During our last round of subzero temps, my garage door became jammed halfway opened when a hinge broke. After a Google search for a local repair company, U.S. Overhead Door yielded several outstanding reviews. I quickly called and spoke with Gary, the owner, and he was at my Frankfort home within 90 minutes. An hour later, all was operable and I was back in business. Extremely competitive pricing and honest, friendly service. Definitely call Gary. read more

When a spring on our garage door broke, we called a company we had used in the past. I thought their quote sounded high, so I got on Yelp and saw this company was nearby and highly rated. He came out that afternoon and the quote was almost 1/3 of the one I had received. Repair was done that week with no issues. read more

Called when my garage door spring broke and spoke with Gary(owner). I explained to Gary that we had been breaking a spring every couple years so he came out and spent the time to weigh or door. He then was able to suggest a heavier duty spring which he installed for a very fair price. I would highly recommend this company and was lucky to find him when I need his help. read more
