This is an excellent veterinary practice. My big Maine Coon cat Pippin has chronic respiratory…read moreissues and has has been there multiple times for scary sinus infections and has been seen by all the vets there. Every doctor was helpful, patient, and worked hard to find the best solution to Pip's problems. I have only the highest praise for the professionalism, listening skills, attention to detail, and dedication of all the staff at Randhurst Animal Hospital. Pippin's regular vet is Dr. Spieker, who is spectacular. Our first visit with her was due to a misdiagnosis of asthma at a different vet practice, leading to an emergency need to change medications. Dr. Spieker took care of the situation and also got us a referral to a specialist who could handle the real problem. She is up to date on all the latest research and is extremely good at explaining the issues facing a cat in Pip's complicated condition.

During the appointment, Dr. Kumar was dismissive in tone, raised his voice when questioning me, and left the room while I was still asking for clarification about my dog's condition and available options. I did not receive clear or supportive communication during a very serious medical visit. After I expressed that I was uncomfortable with the interaction, a nurse told me word for word: "Dr. Kumar is a little biased right now." The nurse further explained that this was due to an interaction with a previous customer yesterday. I want to be very clear: the term "biased" was not my interpretation or assumption it was the exact language used by a staff member. Additionally, details about another client's interaction should not be shared with current customers in a medical setting, especially as an explanation for a doctor's demeanor or judgment. Being told that a veterinarian evaluating a seriously injured animal is "biased," for any reason, is alarming and inappropriate. It directly affected my confidence in continuing care at that facility. Because of the conduct during the visit and the statement made by staff, I chose to leave and seek care elsewhere. I was still charged for the appointment. I subsequently took my dog to another veterinary clinic, where the doctor was calm, professional, and took the time to clearly explain the situation and next steps. That experience showed how unprofessional my experience at Randhurst Animal Hospital truly was. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Randhurst Animal Hospital or Dr. Kumar, particularly for urgent cases where clear communication, professionalism, and emotional neutrality are critical.

DR. GILL does not display empathy at all...found out bad news but took days to contact my partner…read moreand I after us calling the vet multiple times for a response. He then told us that the levels were high in August but they did not alert us until we had another appointment in November. If they knew about it in August why would they not tell us? He shows no sign that he cares and said he would send over a list of specialists. We receive it and it's just a list of other vet locations (no doctor names) and no specifics if they specialize in our dog's disease. The vet techs are friendly but I do not recommend this doctor. Also they charge you $ if your dog pukes in the hospital which I think is pretty messed up cause it is a hospital and our poor dog was sick.

The vet did not disclose that my dog's bloodwork…read moreshowed signs of a serious disease and instead waited until she had an emergency related to the disease 4 months later to disclose this info. It was very obvious Dr. Gill did not care about the wellbeing of my animal and during an emergency, he advised me to come in so he could check on my dog and when I got there, without even looking at my dog, he had a staff member tell me it would be in my dog's best interest to go to the ER. Obviously, having me drive an hour to Dr. Gill's office during a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, only to be told they did not want to give treatment and to drive to an ER 1 hour away, in the opposite direction, is NOT in my pet's best interest! One staff member was especially rude to my mother when she was trying to understand the medical terms he was using (english is her second language) and spoke down to us and treated us like we did not matter. Most of the vet techs were very kind and treated us like human beings (one of the girls was very kind to my dog and I am so grateful for her compassion), but I can't say the same for Dr. Gill and his main assistant. Bottom line: If you love your animal and want them to see a vet that actually cares about their health/wellbeing, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! Instead, find a vet that won't treat you like an ATM!
