If I could give this clinic zero stars, I absolutely would. I have to ask: where is the Hippocratic…read moreOath when it comes to patient care at this clinic? My husband was involved in a car accident and went to the ER, where a CT scan was performed. Thankfully, there were no fractures, but he was diagnosed with a chest contusion. He was advised to follow up with a general orthopedic specialist. Almost two months later, he was still experiencing discomfort, and his primary care physician also recommended that he see an orthopedic specialist. We were given a referral to West Texas Orthopedic, only to receive a call from the clinic telling us that they do not treat ribs or anything involving the chest/thoracic area -- and apparently this was the case even though he has Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I find this extremely difficult to understand. How can an orthopedic clinic refuse to evaluate a musculoskeletal injury involving the chest? What about the intercostal muscles, ligaments, or other soft tissues that could potentially be involved? We weren't asking them to treat a heart condition. We were asking for an orthopedic evaluation following a traumatic injury. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we were told he could see a cardiologist instead. A cardiologist? My husband was referred to an orthopedic specialist because he continues to have pain and discomfort following a car accident. He does not have a heart condition or high blood pressure!! This is exactly why patients rely on medical professionals to guide them to the appropriate specialist. Someone without medical knowledge could easily be confused or sent in the wrong direction by advice like this. Aclinic specializing in orthopedics should at least be able to clearly explain where a patient with this type of injury should go for appropriate evaluation and follow-up. This experience was incredibly disappointing. I would not recommend this clinic based on what we experienced. If you live in Midland and need orthopedic care for an injury involving the chest or ribs, you may need to look outside the area to find someone willing to evaluate you. Very disappointing experience.

I'm from the San Antonio area, where we have a massive healthcare system and plenty of choices. My…read moredaughter was having her first baby at MMH earlier this week and after reading all the negative reviews about this hospital, I was rather nervous. First of all, free parking and no problem finding a spot over a 4 day period. The hospital was surprisingly pretty, modern, and spotless. The registration staff were all super-friendly, helpful, patient, and smiley. As for the OB staff, I literally fell in love with every nurse involved with my daughter's labor and delivery process. If I could hand each one a million dollars, I wouldn't hesitate. Every nurse was caring, extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet sweet sweet to my daughter and her husband. I couldn't ask for anything more. Although I never actually met Dr. Doke, he came through for us and my daughter just loves him. I left Midland genuinely impressed with their beautiful hospital and top notch staff. I'm forever grateful that they ensured the health of my daughter and my first fabulous grandchild... a boy!
