Overall I received great medical care by 95% of the staff for the 4 days I was there. I had a bad…read moreexperience with one nurse while I was there. I won't mention her name on the internet because I'm going to report her for intentional harm and negligence. I was lucky and the ED wasn't busy the day I arrived and I was given pain meds I needed promptly. I was admitted and in a room fairly quickly based on my MANY encounters at hospitals. Here's where it gets a little strange. The doctor REFUSED to change my pain medication until I basically told him off and then he increased the dosage of the oral pain med by very little, and left me on the morphine I told him ony worked for 30min then actually increased my pain by 100%. Thursday and Friday the medical treatment was some of the best team effort I've ever experienced in 57 years of being in and out of the hospital more times than any 6 of my family and friends put together. However BEWARE OF THE WEEKEND "FILL INS" AND EVERY SHIFT CHANGE. The only thing that I can truly say is just horrible and dangerous company practice, is that in 4 days of being there I wasn't allowed any sleep. Now I don't mean someone came in every 2 hours or so to check on me and woke me up and then I got to go back to sleep, like every other hospital I've ever stayed in (and like I said that's a bunch) No I mean every 15 minutes someone else was entering the room or an equipment alarm went off or any number of reasons I was intentionally spoken to or disturbed. This practice (and apparently basically company policy) is going to end up killing patients. I only was allowed 4 hours of sleep total in that 4 days of treatment. You can't heal if you can't rest. They have a good base team, but from now on I'll be going back to Duke health even though they're a long drive and risking long wait times at the ED.

The rooms were clean, and the nurses and doctors were friendly and knowledgeable. All the nurses kept checking on my mother throughout the day and night making sure she was ok. Everyone was very professional and very motivated to do their jobs to standards. The physical therapy staff were also very professional. I have absolutely no complaints as far as how my mother was treated while being there at the ECU Health Beaufort Hospital. Special thanks to the true professionals: Kristy, Darien, Shannon, Soos, Latoria, Racheli, Caroline, Eric, Zola, Jeff, Ms. Tuten. Thank you all!

I had a pretty concerning cramp in my wrist and hand that happened three times to me at work,…read morecombined with general arm pain in both of my arms that prohibit me from working as much as I used to. Reported the injury to my job, and after persistent symptoms, they sent me here. Had to go the next day because they were at capacity, that's fine. I arrived here this morning. Told the nurse my symptoms, waited for the first doctor. The first doctor wasn't versed in orthopedics and I had to wait longer for the second. I started with the initial cramp I had that made me concerned enough to report it in the first place. I didn't even get a chance to mention the general arm pain before he interrupted me saying "that's a cramp. you're probably dehydrated" and made me take a urine test. Had to wait longer after that. He told me my urine was normal, it was just a Charlie horse and it's not even related to my work (despite me constantly working lifting objects and using my hands a lot at least 5 hours a day). He told me this is a concern for my Primary Care doctor and not him and sent me on my way. He even made a joke about how I "missed" them from a previous claim where I had a second degree burn, saying that I "missed" them. I just felt stupid for even coming there. But I guess if my job lists this place as the only option for work comp related injuries, it makes sense that they choose dismissive doctors so employees can just get back to work. Ridiculous.
