I first tried this cart when it was parked on the South side of Queens Blvd, now he's parked on the Northside near the courthouse and the E&F subway station. The food here is delicious and really fresh. The man is always very friendly and and the portions are very generous for the price. $6 for a falafel platter AND Soda/Water. He has a green hot sauce that is so yummy and vegetable samosas too! As long as Taha's Halal Grill is in my neighborhood, this is my spot. Delicious food and friendly service every time! Thank you! We finally have a really good go to Food Cart in the hood! UPDATE*** I finally found Mohammad's Halal Cart after he moved from Union Turnpike. He is now on 71st St between Austin St and Queens Blvd. He is just as friendly as I remember and still serving up delicious falafel. The business name is now KHYBER HALAL FOOD, it is no longer Taha's (however I was able to recognize the cart from across the street bc there was a portion of the old sign peeking out :)

Of course the pictures of the food looked yummy so I decided to give it a try. His rice isn't plain; he included onions and pickles as well. It gives it a very tangy (but not too much) taste. I had it with lamb. He gave an equal amount of lamb and rice and a good portion of salad. I left one star off Bc he ran out of samosas and I really wanted to try one. I guess that could be a good thing; hot commodities!

It seems that there are 4 locations now, all on long island. Since i love street meat, and you don't really see carts on long island, i was very intrigued. My dad shops at this home depot location often and actually stopped at the stand for breakfast once. He said his bacon, egg, and cheese was really good, and pretty cheap. When i was home last weekend I had the opportunity to stop by here and check it out. I went with my usual, chicken and lamb over rice. It took a pretty long time to cook, which was fine with me, hoping that maybe it was fresh. When i was first handed the bag i was very happy with the size and weight of the container. Once i got back to my car and opened the box, the first thing i noticed was the type of rice. I'm not sure what kind of rice it is, but i'm not a fan. It was a type of white rice, but not regular white rice. Whatever is it, it's not good. The salad portion of the meal was very good. The lettuce and tomatoes seems very fresh and crispy. The meat wasn't bad, but both the lamb and chicken could've used some seasoning. It didn't seem like there was any on the chicken and just a little on the lamb. I'm used to the city carts where they season the crap out of the meat. I really enjoyed their white sauce. It seemed like it was actually yogurt based and not the mayo or ranch base that you find in city. The combo was $7, which for the size wasn't bad at all, but the taste just wasn't there. I definitely want to go back and check out some other items like their breakfast sandwiches and chili cheeseburger.

This is a funny kind of review …read more.. Because it is for the Mariano's Italian Ice carts that are all over New York City. The address is for the corporate offices ... But you will encounter these carts in parks all over New York City, and on street corners and wherever. When Mariano's carts show up, they show up in force. Typically, the vendors are told to get to the outer perimeters of the park or facility they are serving. The plan is to be the very first refreshment cart that anyone sees, Giving Mariano's first dibs on the hot, thirsty or treat-seeking customer, Rather than letting that business go to other vendors deeper in the park. * * * The plan totally worked in the case of Samuel C. It was a sweltering 90 plus degree Sunday in Flushing, And I am staggering, hot as hell and thirsty as hell, into Corona Park. The first cart I see is a Mariano's Italian Ice cart. I actually kind of sort of wanted cold bottled water. But this was here, So I got a great big lime Italian Ice. * * * IT WAS WONDERFUL. * * * I do a lot of long distance exercising in the heat. I come from Texas. So I know all about hydrating and getting your salts and all that good stuff. On serious 100 degree plus exercising days, I am usually carrying two bottles of Propel, and if not Propel itself, Some other salt-replacing hydration beverage. * * * The Italian Ice picked me up even more than two bottles of Propel. Suddenly, I was physically cool. Suddenly I had energy. Suddenly I was happy. Suddenly the weather was perfect and I could have gone for miles and miles and miles. Giving me that Lime Italian Ice was as good as giving Popeye spinach. It was a turbo-charge in a console game. * * * If you are in New York in the summer, You will find Mariano's carts everywhere. Just go to any park or any place where lots of people are gathered outside. I can't say enough good stuff about Mariano's Italian Ice. It will taste good, You will feel good, And you can now enjoy the rest of the wonderful stuff that New York's summer parks and outdoor activities offer.
