I want to start by acknowledging the excellent training provided by Tina and Style. They have done a remarkable job preparing models for successful careers and implementing effective practices.
However, my experience with Urban Talent Management was less satisfactory.
Firstly, their approach to scouting models is unconventional. If they contact you via social media to come in, they may pressure you to sign the same day without allowing time for consideration. I found this approach rushed and unusual, but proceeded nonetheless.
Issues regarding payments were consistently problematic. I had a positive interaction with a former employee named Halle, who provided invaluable support during the early stages of my modeling career. She advised me on managing invoicing discrepancies to avoid late fees, despite what the contract stated.
Despite building a good rapport with Urban's team and receiving helpful guidance from Halle, my experience took a downturn when I was double-charged by Style in May. When I contacted their Las Vegas office, I was informed about ongoing turnover in their staff, particularly in the billing department. This turnover led to confusion, and despite disputing one of the charges, they still stated that I owed a payment?
I had expected more understanding and communication from a company I had built a relationship with prior to these staffing changes. Instead, the situation became inconsistent and challenging to navigate. It shifted from owing a disputed charge to suddenly accruing the same amount in late fees--an abrupt and inconsistent communication of information.
While I appreciate businesses that support others, my experience with Urban Talent Management left me disheartened. I hope this review helps other models avoid similar issues. If you choose to work with Style, I recommend maintaining direct communication with their billing department and keeping your financial statements handy. read more
