Super accommodating spot, we had a group of 12 on a Thursday night. Some of us visiting from out of town, and we had Bianca as our server! Very attentive and accommodating to our group. There's a lot of space and seating; as you go in more toward the bathroom there's a bar to the left. It's great for small or big groups. We ordered a lot of items like clam soup, fishcake soup, pork belly, fried chicken gizzard chicken wings, ddeokbokki, kimchi pancake... A LOT; luckily we can order it on the little tablet at your table without having to flag a staff down multiple times. Super easy! Bianca brought our dishes out pretty quickly (since we ordered it kind of sporadically) and all the items were delicious! Our top favorite was the fried chicken gizzard, had a good crunchy coating and the fried onions were also so good together. The cocktails were pretty good, not overly sweet. One of the highballs was really good, I forgot the name but I tasted cranberry juice in it. Such a fun time, Bianca checked in on us multiple times, brought us water and kept everything orderly, and we mentioned it was 4 of our birthdays and she even brought out some sweet treats and sparkler candles! Super sweet, many thanks to her! Also Urban Pocha has a little spin the wheel game and Bianca brought that out for us to see what we'd win! Definitely coming back to this spot.
Urban Pocha is a chill spot for afternoon or late night drinks; their selections will likely include just what you're looking for if it's within the realm of Korean pub. On my most recent visit, my friends and I shared a Kloud with fries and bulgogi cream rissoto. Service was alright, though definitely on the slower end. Ordering is via self-service kiosk at the table, but paying is with the server. Our food came out rather quickly, and everything is fairly consistent. The food is generally overflavored in salt and sugar, but it tasted good otherwise. Overall, a decent spot to visit if Pasadena is your group's main gathering point.
What a hidden gem in Old Town Pasadena! It was a Saturday night and it was not busy near the beginning of evening time. I love the vibes in here as it really reminded me of an actual pocha. There's even a photobooth! It's a great place just to hang out and catch up with friends. The price was reasonable as the portion of the bossam filled 2 people up. It was fresh. I especially liked the radish. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. I like how they have a device to help order. There's a parking structure across the street too :)
Came here Friday night hoping to catch the Milan Winter Olympics but got k-pop videos instead. Oh well, let's just focus on the food, which is a solid 3-star for Korean comfort food (Yelp says "OK" but 3 stars means "Good" in my book) The 'Urban wings' have too much thick batter and grease; the squid cold noodle has very little squid in it, and the sauce is quite bland (my Korean friend could not quite put her finger on it but said it's "definitely missing something"). The seafood pancake, while looking nothing like the picture on the menu, was excellent (4 stars). Very nice staff doing their best to accommodate. Would I come back? Yes during Dodgers season.
It's a cute little place, but places in KTown are significantly better so not worth to come here imo. The corn cheese was fine, but the cheese layer on top was just the hard mound of cheese after a few min. The lychee martinis were so unbelievably small... but whatever. The spicy chicken was good, but the buckwheat noodles were very cold, which was kinda making the chicken cold too. The tteokbokki could've been way better, it just was not that flavorful? My friend got the bulgogi risotto though and that was pretty solid.
Loved their tteokbokki and friend chicken. The tteokboki was the right amount of spicy that we were looking for and the chicken was dripping in honey and super crispy. The kimchi pancake was disappointing- seemed undercooked as it was soggy and fell apart as soon as I tried to pick up a piece. It's the typical vibe of a pocha - casual eats and drinks.
We absolutely looooooove this place And Olivia is the most sweetest genuine person we have ever had a pleasure of meeting. She's one of the newest bartenders here at least for us because we haven't been here in a while but when we come back, just see her we absolutely love her to death. You guys have a gem on your hands. The food is amazing. You cannot go wrong with anything here, but Bulgogi risotto is our favorite garlic, chicken wings. The chicken is amazing fried chicken. We love it and they have a good happy hour as well. Don't forget to ask for a snow coat on top of your beer.
Urban Pocha is one of those places that reminds you why small, owner run spots can be so special. From the moment we walked in, there was a genuine warmth that set the tone for the whole meal. Great food, heartfelt service, and an atmosphere that feels authentic. This is an easy five stars and a place I'll happily return to.
Great spot for Korean comfort food in Pasadena! We ordered japchae, tteokbokki, galbi, kimchi fried rice, honey garlic chicken, and spicy chicken, everything was flavorful, well-seasoned, and generous in portions. Service was fantastic, our server was on point and kept the Diet Cokes coming without us asking. The space is big, has a projector and multiple TVs for watching sports, and parking is super convenient right next door (paid lot). Definitely a new go-to for casual eats and hanging out with friends.
Came back again for a reunion happy hour. Service was on point since we had a separate section from the restaurant out in the back. Can't go wrong with the Bossam, Short ribs and spicey rice cake. I think we order a lot and still couldn't finish. Drinks are okay but I cut out the alcohol so the mocktails people comment said it was delicious. Ambiance is like a typical pocha. Well lit and easy to find. Great for big groups.
came here last night for NYE with my friends and was so shocked at how spacious it was inside! perfect place to come hangout and get a drink with friends. the food was great. my favorite dish would have to be the corn pancake. i never had a corn pancake prior to going here, so i kept wanting to have more of it! i also enjoyed the chicken - was so so crispy i loved it. the service was amazing! staff was friendly and welcoming. they gave us a free drink in honor of NYE which was so sweet of them! highly recommend everyone to come here if you're in the pasadena area!
The music is too loud. in the restaurant. The lighting makes everything look pinkish as you can see from the pics of the food I took. It makes the food look unappetizing. I feel bad for the server, because he's also the host and the server for the entire place, and he was never around. We had to wave him down to take our order. And after delivering the food, he never checked on us. The food itself is alright. The fried gizzards were crispy and the yuzu sauce is a perfect dippping sauce. The Bossam is good, but too much fat on the pork. The seafood udon is tasty but the udon is not chewy. We asked for mild spicy level, and that was just perfect for us. Overall, the food is decent.
Came here on a random night just because I felt like drinking and I also heard so much about this place! The frozen beer top was a nice touch and the fried gizzard with yuzu shavings and scallion was pretty good. If you're going to order fried food make sure to order it with soup dubboki! It literally makes a difference as everything I ate was too dry for me. I would definitely come back, service and atmosphere here is nice. Love the layout of the restaurant! read more

Stumbled upon this place when a friend was in town for a visit and glad we did! The food was great and the seating area in the back was nice and relaxing, separate from the main dining area. We got a soup, fried chicken, and pork dish. It all tasted great and we would go again. Service was great too. read more
A fun Korean bar with lots of crunchy, fried, and spicy food to enjoy with domestic and imported Korean beers. I think the ideal way to enjoy the place is with a big group of people so you can try a lot of different items. The corn jeon is crispy and sweet with a dusting of powdered sugar, the first few bites are great, but how much powdered sugared corn can one man eat? The fried chicken was fine, but not particularly flavorful or shatteringly crunchy as you'd expect from double-fried chicken. We came in for dinner since we were walking around Pasadena. Service was whatever. This place looks like somewhere you'd go for drinks and party? I just wanted food I'm sorry I'm a boring person. It was overstimulating. Like surrounded by screens playing mismatched random things like K-pop MVs, stage performances and the news? I did love the K-pop music playing but my poor bf had to sit there being bombarded with it all. Food was great though! We tried some random things like corn pancake (5stars), pork jowl with shishito peppers (4 stars) was also tasty! And the bulgogi risotto was okay! (3 stars) A little too sweet and not enough rice for something that strongly flavored?salty and sweet? I think i would come back for the food since they have a bunch of random things I'd enjoy like sotteok, fried chicken, army stew, and spicy chicken feet! A variety of street food and unhealthy snacks to satisfy your cravings. read more
If I'm going to base this solely on food I would have given a 3 star, but the ambiance and service definitely made it a 4 star review. First off the food, the best thing we ordered was the seafood pancake and egg omelet. These were very flavorful and the sauce was amazing. The fried honey chicken wings and the chicken gizzard was just alright. yelp reviews had these two as the most popular dishes but when we tried it we found that honey garlic was drowned in straight honey, it made the salad and radish a bit soggy with all that honey. The chicken gizzard is just alright as well, the topping was nice but it felt it needed more seasoning on the chicken. The ambiance however is top notch!! There are tvs everywhere with sports and kpop on. On top of that it was surrounded by Netflix kdrama posters, all my favorites. The frozen snow beer is definitely a plus too. And of course the service. Our servers were great and kept the food and drinks coming. Very attentive to our needs. So then the question is if we will be back...yes!! I saw some other food that did look delicious and will definitely try it next time. read more
expensive korean food.... but for the vibes? urban pocha - a great place to drink, eat, and catch up with friends.... but at what cost? your liver? here's my honest truth - the food portion is so freakin small for a place that caters to groups. how could they be so small yet so pricey?! but my friend group clearly fell for their trap because after one bite of that rose ddeokbokki and army stew, i was hooked. but please, do NOT by any means order that sweet potato fry dish. it was like a fried up little stick, like barely even a chip. anyways, i think there are better korean restaurants to eat, drink, and catch up in. don't get me wrong, the employees are VERY sweet and attentive. my friends and i came on a friday night and they don't take reservations but there was no wait! we came for my friend's birthday and they sang happy birthday while presenting those small chocolate cake pies you get from 99 ranch lol. my friend did get to spin the wheel and won a soju bottle! read more

Wanted to try this new Korean pocha so we headed over on a Friday night around 10:30pm. I love that this place is open late, but be sure to come before 11pm if you're trying to order food! The kitchen closes around that time. Parking is available around Old Town with several cheap lots available from $1-$5. Ambiance is fun with loud K-pop music and cute neon lights at every table. They also have one of those cute PHOTOBOOTHS!! What we ordered: - Honey Garlic Chicken 5/5 ($17.95) - WOW this chicken was CRISPY and comes with 4 HUGEE pieces of dark meat. The honey garlic sauce is very sweet but the chicken is super moist and juicy so it just balances out well. The coating is some of the thickest and crispiest I've ever had. - Seafood Pancake 3/5 ($18.95) - This pancake was just okay for me. It was definitely a large well sized pancake but it was a little too oily for my taste and wasn't crispy enough. The flavor was still good and the chunks of seafood were delicious. - Kloud Beer 500mL ($9) - Stanard korean beer at a pretty standard price. Soju bottles are $14.99 and they also have beer on tap as well as soju cocktails. Will 100% be coming back to try some of their other classic Korean pocha dishes like tteokboki and others. Staff were also friendly but you do have to flag them down sometimes for help. Not a problem for me. read more
The more dishes there are on the table, the happier I am. If you're in Pasadena, this new restaurant is the place to be if you're craving Korean comfort food and want to try a bunch of food with friends. My favorite dish of the night was the brisket rose tteokbokki with its rich, creamy sauce that had a subtle kick and even came with udon! If you saw my face when I uncovered the noodles, I probably looked like the star-eyed emoji. A close second was the seafood pancake. Some of the best I've had with the crispy outer texture and tons of seafood filling that tasted delicious with the sauce. These were just my favorites but everything else was a hit too. For the wings, I preferred the regular flavor over the honey garlic because it didn't complement each other as nicely as the typical pairing of honey butter or garlic parmesan. The bulgogi cream risotto was surprisingly sweet which was a shock at first but a nice balance since there was a lot of savory food in our spread. The spam and kimchi fried rice lacked a strong tangy flavor but the texture was good. Of course, you can't go wrong with galbi which I enjoyed with the risotto. The service here is amazing. The staff was always nice, checking-in to see if we needed anything or to refill our waters. The area is very spacious and clean with a lot of TVs playing music videos for entertainment. read more
Urban Pocha is definitely a place you go to for the food and stay for the vibes! We ordered the snail salad, seafood pancake, and egg kimchi fried rice. The snail salad was a bit hard to mix, but had a good amount of snail, salad, and noodles. The seafood pancake was nice and crispy with plenty of flavor. The fried rice was delicious, balancing flavor without being heavy handed with salt. Service was quick and polite; no complaints at all! The dark interior and kpop music really encourage you to come and have fun with a party; I didn't get any alcohol this time but I look forward to coming back with a group to fully appreciate the vibes! read more

Overall it was just okay, a solid 3. Nonetheless, after seeing Guppy House and Beer & Claw leave this exact space over the last few years, Urban Pocha is an interesting addition that brings Ktown vibes to Pasadena without the Ktown drive. Since the place is new, there are kinks in the service that can be amended with better training. Aside from our servers (2) and the owner/manager (?) coming by to ask if we enjoyed the food a few times, it was meh from start to finish. They brought water cups at the beginning then told us we had to ask for water or they can't give it to us?... I said sure could we have water? We didn't get water until I asked again half way through our meal. Ordered 5 dishes to try and barely had space on the table, so when it came to packing up leftovers, one server brought containers then walked away without attempting to clear anything which made packing a pain in the butt. When we were packing and moving containers and the bag around, another server brought the final receipts and put the tip receipts on top of the credit card/itemized receipt and dropped it off like that. Table was already hectic which resulted in both tip receipts winding up on the floor without anyone noticing. Either way, by the time we finished packing and looked at the tray with the credit card, it was only the card and itemized receipt so we sat around confused about how to tip. Even thought about tipping cash at one point. I don't think the servers noticed the slips on the floor, we eventually asked another server if we were supposed to have more receipts, and didn't see the ones on the floor until we were getting ready to leave. Good service makes dining out smooth and comfortable, not frustrating. We ordered: - Rolled omelette $13-just okay, it's an omelette - Seafood pancake $19-had plump shrimp and lots of squid, tons of leeks (scallions?) so was on the soggy side but I loved the pronounced seafood flavor - Pork jowl and shishito $22-the best dish of the night; other reviewers complained it's small which it kind of is but it's fatty pork jowl so I think it's okay in this size - Budae jigae $28-tasty, lots of ramen, expensive for the size - Rosé tteokbokki with brisket $23-on the sweeter side of rosé cream but delicious; there's like one sausage and a tiny handful of brisket, the rest is rice cakes and udon, so value wise is mediocre but it was good With soju, total was $145 before tip--not cheap for the quantities but you can reasonably squeeze out two meals for 2 if you don't start hungry. Lastly, I wish there was some warning either on the menu like "alcohol cannot be removed from the premises" or a verbal notice when we ordered soju since the restaurant strictly enforces this rule. Don't know if my experience is isolated but I've never once had an issue taking resealed alcohol to go, even soju from other restaurants around Pasadena and LA in general, so was not expecting the restaurant to refuse to return the bottle cap to us with 80% left saying that Pasadena doesn't allow open alcohol. read more
I thought this place was pretty good and prices for some things are on the higher end like $30 for galbi. I came here with a total party of 7 and we made reservations for 6:15pm ahead of time. We wanted to change it and add our other friend but the next reservation time was at 9pm. This was so strange to use because when we arrived, there was no one there!! It was only our group and probably one other table. This was a bummer but it's okay, we should've just brought him any way. Each table comes with a complimentary bowl of shrimp chips which is cool and unique! Our table ordered the following: Kimchi Fried Rice - not bad - I would order this again. Every bite had a kimchi taste to it and it's nice they top it off with a sunny side up egg. Urban Chicken - this is definitely so delicious if you are the type of person who doesn't like their chicken seasoned/drenched in sauce. Great crispy taste but we had to ask for some sauces on the side because the flavor profile was lacking compared to the other dishes. For this one, we got the mixture basket of drumsticks, wings, and thighs. This also came with a side of radishes and salad. Honey Garlic Chicken - this was probably one of my favorites because I love korean fried chicken no matter where I go. It was very well seasoned and comes with a side of radishes and some salad. Potato Fries ($9.95) - this was probably the worst dish here - I am a huge fries lover so I love a good order of fries for the table but this was not it. They came out kind of dry, unseasoned and just not that great. Galbi ($27.95?) - I would say this is just okay. It's a good protein dish but I just didn't like that it doesn't come out pipping hot like they make it at Korean tofu houses. It just came out warm-ish and some of the pieces were a bit too fatty for my taste. Kimchi Pancake with squid - super duper good! Some of the squid pieces sprinkled in this pancake made it so tasty but I would say, the portion is too small to share amongst 7 people. We would have to order two of these if everyone wanted two bites. Beer (IPA) - Forgot which beer we chose but their IPA is good!! and sooo refreshing. We also ordered some soju ($14.99 each bottle). With all the food above, our group of 7 was just content and no one was really full (we ended up getting desserts and tacos after). I think we would've benefitted if we ordered a soup dish and maybe one more entre. Each table also has a cute night lamp with a different design. I love the ambiance here but if you expect to have a conversation with your friends, expect to be yelling because this place was loud! It definitely got more crowded towards the end of our meal as more people were trickling in since it was a Friday night. Overall pretty decent place, I would probably like to try their soup next time if I do come back here. Parking will have to be at the parking garages (there's one on Green St) or any meter/street parking you find. read more
My friends and I were excited to try this place because if it was good then we wouldn't have to go to ktown for a pocha. Kimchi fried rice (4/5): This was pretty good. It had a good amount of kimchi flavor and a nicely fried egg on top. The portion was small for the price they charge. Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken (2.5/5): I have a lot to say about this. While the chicken was nicely cooked and perfectly crispy ... it wasn't spicy at all? I don't have a strong spice tolerance so I was confused. It was, however, VERY SWEET. The flavors were very confusing. I was disappointed. Not sure if it was just that day or what. I eat a good amount of korean fried chicken and this was not it. The honey and oil pooled at the bottom of the plate and it was horrifying. It came with a side salad and some pickled radish. We ordered a seafood pancake but it was taking a long time to come out so we asked our waiter to check on it. I am assuming they forgot about it because when he came back he let us know they just began cooking it. We had to leave and didn't have time to wait for it. I appreciate that they let us cancel it. Overall, it was ok. Maybe I'll come back. We were pretty sad they didn't have corn cheese though. The interior was nicely decorated and it was a big space. If you don't mind average food, it would probably be a fun hangout spot at night. read more

Opened for about a month. Spacious. Kpop vibes. Sports bar setting. Definitely A fun place for group gathering. You scan the QR code for menu at the reception before getting seated. Pretty good varieties of dishes including fried and non fried food. I recommend the seafood pancake and grilled pork collar & kimchi with tofu. Seafood pancake has good amount of toppings like shrimp and squid. Some what burnt on the top. The grilled pork collar is so tasty and complement taste of kimchi. Just perfect with the tofu too. A great non carb option. Parking- closest garage parking is on green. read more
I read about this new Korean restaurant in Pasadena via SGV Eats and also saw it on Yelp searches. This restaurant has only been open for about a month at the time of this review, and I wanted to give it a try. I came here with my wife for dinner. Urban Pocha has a sports bar type of vibe. The staff are very friendly and we were seated right away. They allowed us to try a sample of one of their new appetizers, which was a sweet potato type of chip. It was decent. For dinner, my wife and I decided to share an appetizer and an entree. We ended up getting the beef brisket rose tteokbokki and also a rolled omelette, similar to tamagoyaki. The rose tteokbokki was quite good. It was a bit spicy for me, but I still loved the beef brisket and the sausage that was in the tteokbokki. The rice cakes had a very nice texture. The egg omelette was pretty good, and came with some ketchup. Solid restaurant overall, and the food was quite good. read more
My friends and I came here for dinner on a Friday night prior to going to a concert. We didn't have reservations but there was no wait and a lot of empty tables available. The restaurant itself is pretty big and spacious, which is a bit different than other pochas I've been to where they're usually smaller and more crowded. Each table comes with a little neon lamp, which I thought was cute, and came with complimentary shrimp chips and water. We originally ordered 3 dishes (kimchi fried rice, urban honey garlic chicken wings, and seafood pancake). The first two dishes (kimchi fried rice and chicken wings) came rather quick. The fried rice was good, I really enjoyed it. The chicken wings were huge, which isn't a bad thing. I honestly was expecting chicken wings, and not fried chicken. The chicken meat was cooked nice and tender, and the skin was really crispy too. But it definitely had a lot of oil, you can see the oils seep in the serving plate. Since it was honey garlic flavor, the honey was also drenched throughout the chicken wings, which I felt was overpowering. The chicken wings and kimchi fried rice was more than enough to feed 3 people, but we still hadn't gotten our 3rd dish after waiting awhile. We luckily were able to wave the server down and ask if we can remove it from the order, and he said yes because they were just about to start making it. I thought that was nice, since we were in a rush to go to the concert. Overall, the pocha was nice to check out but it's not an authentic pocha like the ones in ktown. Located in a popular area of Pasadena. Street parking or plenty of lot parking available. No wait was required (we were a party of 6) and service was prompt. Multiple different servers kept checking in with our party. Almost a little too often for my liking lol. I'm used to those korean places where you just press a button when you need something. Ambiance is lively and fun. Lots of lit up neon details around the store and Halloween decorations were still up. We ordered cocktails as well as a couple bottles of sugar free soju to share. All of the drinks were good. What surprised me is how great the honey garlic fried chicken was! I don't drink much but I would seriously return just to eat this fried chicken. The other dishes we tried (onion rings, seafood pancake, dubokki) were okay but nothing special. But I am still thinking about that chicken! read more

And here we have another winner!! I love kpubs so much, and this one truly has it all: cool vibes, tv/sports, poppin' music, good drinks, and good prices for great food. Two of us stopped by before a painting session nearby and couldn't decide what to get since Urban Pocha offers a plethora of unique items you don't often see elsewhere... brisket rosé tteokbokki, spicy snail salad, corn pancake, fried chicken gizzards, and more! I highly recommend their chicken wings, seafood pancake, and spicy snail or octopus salads! I would probably order these every time. Honey garlic chicken wings: came out soooo hot & crispy! Flavor bomb, but definitely on the sweet side. Cabbage salad & pickled radish come with it. Seafood Pancake: probably one of the best ones i've ever had.. a lot of places tend to make it too thick or it comes out very soggy, but the one here was crispy and had a ton of seafood. The dipping sauce was also *chefs kiss* Spicy snail salad: this cold dish comes with two servings of rice vermicelli on top of a bed of greens with a generous amount of cooked sea snails.. all married together by a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. So good and way better than I was expecting! Love that we have a solid option in the SGV area without needing to drive to ktown for similar food/vibes :) read more

the whole place slayed. There's not one thing I didn't love except for the time it took to look for parking The food timing could improve but The food was everything me and my girlies needed that night. The Drinks are exquisite. multiple 5 star choices. I got the Lychee Martini . They got virgin drinks as well, great option for non alcohol lovers. The service was also very attentive. I loved every bit of this place. They had a Bar section as well but of course I had to go for all the food I could ask for Highly recommend the Honey Garlic Chicken i'm also a super fan of topokki. The cheese corn was also amazing. Only biggest critique I have is the Photo booths light seems to not light the booth well enough because our photos came out dark but other then that it was A1. will be visiting again soon read more

GO. HERE. Highly recommend this korean pup for your next night out. Several things going for this new spot. 1. Excellent service 2. We ordered terra, cold foam(?) beers, tofu kimchi, yuzu fried chicken gizzard, rose tteokbokki. All of them were delicious. I highly, highly recommend the yuzu fried chicken gizzard. It is something I still think about after a few days after my visit. The rose tteokbokki was great too. If you like creamy spicy noodles, I would recommend trying it out. Tofu kimchi is solid but nothing out of the ordinary-- it is diet friendly so if you are looking for something that is less fatty, get this. (I'm korean so I've had my share of tofu kimchi). 3. A great place for pocha in Pasadena I couldn't find any dish that was not delicious. The portion is generous. Fried chicken was very crispy. Grilled pork was one of the best salad I've had. Fried rice, fish cake soup, etc. The food was so good! They have selfie booth, I was told it's $8-10 but I didn't try. The vibe was great and very family friendly. They have the bar at the back too. Servers were very nice and attentive. Parking is metered just like typical Old Pasadena style. It's pretty easy to find a spot when I went around 5pm when they opened. Have been wanting to eat at this place since it opened. Based on the review it seems like a pretty good place to go. Hubby and I went on a Friday night super hungry. Cute ambiance, plenty of room to sit. I'm having such a hard time finding the words to review this place. Not only is their food SUPER pricey, it just didn't taste good. Period. The hi-lite of it was the corn.. corn with cheese! That was the only thing I enjoyed. The kimchi friend rice was tolerable. Everything else was not. I think it's a "after you've drank the night" type of place. Honestly. First time in a long time Yelp reviews did not match the actual food. I think the food can be hit or miss, maybe depending on time of day, bc when I went the chicken was too oily and not very crispy compared to other times my friend has been. I did enjoy the corn pancake though, and they have a good 1+1 beer HH deal. read more

2nd time here. Fun dining experience though a bit loud. They have TVs throughout playing K-pop. Parking is street, private lot, or in the city public lot on Green St and Fair Oaks. Good cocktails and tasty food with nice presentation. I recommend the seafood pancake, steamed egg, Korean rice cakes (seafood or brisket). Friendly service. Good spot with friends or date night (though not romantic but it has a fun vibe). read more
came to urban pocha for the first time the other day and the food was absolutely delicious! the restaurant itself is very loud and stimulating. it has a more young people vibe and there are multiple screens with multiple different music videos playing, which was kind of a lot. the service was alright. they probably should hire more people. as for the food, it was super unique and tasty. we ordered: 1. Bulgogi Cream Risotto - there was a lot of melty gooey cheese on top a bed of risotto and lots of bulgogi. it was a HUGE portion and all the ingredients mixed together just creates a perfect bite of savoriness that is not too heavy and has a depth to it that is not just salt. One of the best dishes I've ever tasted! 2. Brisket Rose Tteokbokki - again, a huge portion of food with lots of beef and sausage. loved the combination of the meats with udon and tteokbokki - literally a bowl of all my favorite things! this dish was delicious as well. it was spicy but not so much that i couldn't handle (usually hot cheetos is my limit). the rice cakes were nice and chewy. overall, the food was some of the best food i've ever had! planning to come back to try the other dishes! read more
I like the ambiance and the service here, but I would say this place is more of a hangout spot with drinks and snacks than a foodie find. If you are looking just for food, you can find better at a cheaper price in K-town (I'd recommend Anju House). The interior is very hip, with tons of K-pop decorations to look at and ambient K-pop music. The staff was also friendly and came by our table frequently to replace our water. My friends and I ordered the kimchi pancake with squid, spam & kimchi fried rice, and brisket rose tteokbokki. Not coming from a Korean background, I thought all of the dishes tasted pretty good, especially the brisket rose tteokbokki. However, they were all small and expensive for food that is meant to be shared amongst a group. Even the drinks are way overpriced - for example, they sell one bottle of makgeolli for $15 when you can buy it at H Mart for less than half the price. This is probably a place I'd come to if there was nothing else open in the area; otherwise, I'd rather drive to K-town and spend less money there. read more
I think I found my new favorite dish: brisket rose tteokbokki! Aside from this, some of my other favorites were the bulgogi cream risotto, crispy corn pancake, and their fried chicken (we got the drumsticks). What a fun restaurant to hangout with a group of friends; honestly for anyone!! They have so many comforting Korean dishes and specialty items to pick from & a great cocktail/drink menu too. They were playing Kpop music nonstop here-LOVE! There's a life4cuts photobooth for guests to take pictures too; super cute. Its very spacious and if you go towards the back there's a large table that can accommodate a large party so this is definitely a great place to book a future group gathering or party for a special occasion. The staff here were so wonderful and took great care of us. I'll be back!! Plenty of parking at the parking structures around old town. read more
I was fairly impressed by this place! I feel like the vibes really live up to its name and I like that it has a bar. The bulgogi risotto was yum but not totally outstanding, but the rose tteokbokki was amazing. Loved that there was sausage with it too. It's a great place for a Friday night vibe! read more
