I shop at this beauty supply store regularly. As a cosmetologist, I am in constant need of all things beauty. Yesterday, I purchased several items including a wig and two packs of Bounce hair. Later that evening, I noticed there were products missing that I had purchased. I looked for my receipt to see what exactly the cashier actually rang up but there was no receipt in the bag and the things that were in the bag had no price tags on them. I called my bank to verify the amount of the purchase and it was apparent I was not given all the items I purchased, which I realised could not have all fit into one bag but the cashier only gave me one bag. Since I realised this after hours, I had to wait until the next day to go back to the store.
The following morning, I went back to the store as soon as they opened. I handed the cashier the bag and told her I purchased the items the day before but everything I bought was not in my bag. She looked at a few things and then called a different worker to assist her. The lady that came to help was actually the woman who helped me the previous day. She helped me pick out a wig behind the counter and two boxes of hair (which they themselves take to the cashier - I guess they just don't trust the patrons).
When the other lady walked up, I said hi, smiled and mentioned that she was the one that helped me the day before. I was very nice and friendly. I shop at this place frequently and expected her to recognise that fact. She immediately got an attitude after the cashier spoke to her in another language about my issue. The lady said she didn't know if she if she helped me or not, she said she works and helps everybody all day. Ewwwww. I sighed and thought to myself here we go.
I have to say these people (yes, THESE PEOPLE) act so nice and friendly when you give them your money and leave, make small talk and act like they are happy to help you WHEN YOU PAY YOUR MONEY THEN LEAVE. HOWEVER, if there is EVER an issue GIRRRRRLLLLLL, suddenly you are no better than gum on the bottom of their shoe. They treat you like a criminal, like you are trying to rob them, I just don't know where these ridiculous attitudes come from. They have no sense of customer service. They are not AT ALL interested in helping to solve problems whether they are at fault or not.
But, I digress. So, I explained to the lady that I made a purchase and did not receive all my items. She said she needed the receipt because it would show the time I made the purchase then they could check the video. I told her the young lady who helped me did not put my receipt in the bag (they ALWAYS DO THAT AND NEVER HAND IT TO YOU) So I went off to the side and called my bank to get the exact time of the purchase. After the call, I told the woman the time the purchase was made. She said she cannot help me, that I needed to talk to the manager. Okay, so get the manager. She said the manager was not there. I said well what is her name and her number. She said she didn't know. ???!!!WTF!!! I said, how can I talk to someone whose name you don't know and you won't give me her number. She said she would be there on a different day. No, she'll be there tomorrow at 12. Okay, WHO is she, what's her name. Well, she said, Lee...we just call her Mrs. Lee. I got the impression she just wanted me to leave and get out of her face. I knew that this store is owned by the same people who own Joy Wigs so I decided I was going to go there and talk to someone instead but I needed to know the name of the girl who checked me out the previous day thinking maybe they could ask her if she remembered not giving someone all of their items and no receipt. So I asked the lady of the name of the girl who worked the day before. She said she no longer worked there, she was only temporary. C'mon now. This is just ridiculous. Fine, I'll play their game and keep calling to talk to someone else tomorrow. But first, I needed her to check the prices on all the items I DID have so that I knew for sure what I did pay for and what was missing. The cashier reluctantly scanned those items then told me the final price. I actually asked her to let me know how much each item was but she seemed reluctant to do that. It was like pulling teeth trying to get these people to help me - help them - help me! She just pointed to the screen and repeated the final sale price. So I had to get a pen and write down everything on the screen and how much it cost along with the final price.
Before I left, I did want to purchase some other hair so I asked the other lady to help me in the back. She came back there and I asked her for a particular brand of hair that I had looked at the previous day and I knew was being discontinued so it was on sale. She said they only a few colors. I asked her if they had brown - #4. She said she already told me I needed to talk to her boss and rolled her eyes. I said this is not about what I purchased yesterday, I wanted to buy THIS HAIR today. read more
