Camberwell Free Film Festival has all it takes to become one of the main film events on this side…read moreof London. This 2015 edition is gathering more public than expected, for a reason. The choice of films - projected onto medium-sized screens in Camberwell pubs and other places of interest - is eclectic and can satisfy anyone with a diverse taste in film and pretty much everyone else. Special mention this year for American gothic classic The Night Of The Hunter, projected at St Giles Church - stunning venue, perfectly fitted the movie. Plus: the festival organisers set up a bar that keeps going during the projections, and that is a great way to support their work. Otherwise, free donations are encouraged but absolutely no pressure, for this is an absolutely free event. Only recommendation: turn up in advance (even 30 to 40 minutes), because seats are limited and it gets pretty crowded.

Lots of trade, health and chairty stalls for you to peruse and maybe take part. Activities for children like bouncy castles, giant slides and face painting. In other words, something for everyone. Free live shows as well. The line-up changes a bit every year, especially the live acts, so look out for advertisments in the local paper.

Last year the theme was 'Disco'. The food was divine. The entertainment was fantastic. But it closed too early: at about 1am... This year, the theme is 'Après Ski' (so good that we are going back!) Attached some pictures. This is me with some party favours the organisers placed on our table... Real kid...
