Shalom! I'm writing this "Review" from the perspective of a Board Certified Physician and Physical…read moreTherapy Patient. I would never have been able to recovery from, what seems like, countless physical ailments without the help of exceptional Physical Therapists. Patients often ask for my recommendation, "Where do I go Dr. Rock, so that I can get better?" - I always say, it's not the location - Its always the Physical Therapist. Dr. Katie Edwards, the owner/operator of Fight Back Performance & Recovery only has top Physical Therapists working for her. Everyone who works at this location is enthusiastic, positive and focused on ensuring exceptional, compassionate and safe patient care. This isn't your typical "Cookie Cutter" / Sterile Franchise Style Physical Therapy location. These Physical Therapist are not watching the clock and going through the motions. Every patient is uniquely viewed and a customized treatment plan is mapped out. Physical Therapists at this facility don't practice out of a "Cook Book" for lack of better words. Therapists are exceptional, personable, compassionate and caring. All of Katie's Therapists are knowledgeable and highly experienced. Front Staff (Conner & Tatiana) are incredible efficient, kind, understanding and always go the extra mile to accommodate and work around my demanding schedule. This office truly caters to "Working Folks" who are out there - in the real world. I'm asking myself, why am I writing this review? Everyone with any degree of sensibility is going to read this and take my appointments. LOL - Oh well! This is truly a "Concierge Physical Therapy Practice" that focuses on 1 on 1 - Exceptional / High Quality / Old School - Manual Physical Therapy. I am grateful for getting the opportunity to be treated and cared for by Dr. Brandon Kovash & Dr. Jordan Spennato. You will not find therapist more compassionate, open-minded, non-judgmental and skilled in the City of Charlotte. I am currently blessed & fortunate to be treated by Dr. Austin Williams. Austin's unique approach to viewing patients, like myself, from a Bio-Psycho-Social-Mechanical perspective truly has set him apart from other Physical Therapists that I have interacted both professional and personally. Austin's, practice of Physical Therapy is truly on a higher level. Austin is incredibly experienced and has worked with patients with various physical abilities and limitations. This is obvious, in that he has completed additional specialized fellowship training and has a considerable experience working with patients struggling with the effects of surgical wounds and chronic conditions. I am incredible grateful for Dr. Katie Edwards, who single-handedly was instrumental in correctly diagnosing a longstanding physical issue affecting my quality of life. For over a year, I had not been appropriately examined and Physician Colleague Specialists only wanted to offer me unnecessary procedures and treatments. Katie is incredibly knowledgeable and connected with local Charlotte Physicians, Surgeons and Physical Medicine Specialists; She has a tremendously robust referral base. Katie and Austin won't give you a junk referral, for lack of better words. I have been to other Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy centers in Charlotte; This facility truly stands apart. To whomever is reading this, please don't take up my regular scheduled early evening appointments. They accept many insurance plans; which is critical. These guys are also First Responder and Veteran Friendly. This operation has my highest recommendation. Centrally located nearby the "Big Boys" - Atrium/Novant - Trauma Centers; - Plenty of Parking; - The Office is Handicapped accessible, clean and very comfortable. They have a wide array of well-maintained equipment and plenty of room to move around. You don't feel rushed or crowded. Grade: A+

Physical health is extremely important to me, so this may be my favorite discovery in Charlotte…read more Mark is a great physical therapist that runs a results oriented business, and that is exactly what you can expect with him. As someone who spends most of the day sitting at my desk, I developed an SI joint disfunction, which caused me back & leg pain and discomfort for over a year. This hindered my workouts and any other physical activity that I love doing. I tried to fix it myself, and then went to the Chiropractor with minimal results. Luckily someone recommended Mark to me, because after the first session with him there were instant and lasting resulting. Mark starts off with an initial physical assessment, where he identifies the source of your problem (not just the symptoms!). After identifying the issue(s), he utilizes various forms of therapy (depending on your needs) to fix the problem. (e.g. massage, trigger point therapy, joint manipulation, etc). Following your appointment(s), Mark will prescribe exercises to do at home that will continue to advance your rehab results. In terms of price, I found Mark to be more affordable than the Chiropractors I had recently seen. His sessions are comparable to the price of a massage. But truthfully, when it comes to your physical and mental health, you should never be a cheapskate, especially when you are getting great results. I routinely go to Mark for 'maintenance' on my body, because just like a car, your body needs work from time to time, especially if you taxing it constantly. Bottom line: If you want results, this is the place to go. No one should be suffering from chronic pain and discomfort (especially if you're young!).

I was completely distraught after getting injured during the Marshall marathon in West Virginia…read more Nothing seemed to be working and I could not run without pain. Finally a friend suggested that I go visit Mark for some trigger point needle therapy. I was skeptical at first because of the needles but also desperate enough to find a solution because I could not run the way things were with my piriformus issue. After only a few sessions with Mark I was able to return to running and even set a new personal record. He is very knowledgeable and experienced working with athletes. I highly recommend him and tell all my endurance friends that are struggling with injuries to contact Mark and try his therapy in order to get back to 100%.

But let's be honest: the real magic is Tina. I've been to spas all over the world, from luxury resorts to hidden little sanctuaries, and when my muscles are in full rebellion with those deep, stubborn tension knots, nobody compares to Tina. She doesn't just massage; she assesses. You can feel her mapping out every line of tension. Every pressure point is intentional, every movement strategic. The woman has magical hands and the expertise to back it up. If you need someone who actually knows what they're doing, not generic strokes, but real skill that gets at the source, Tina is the one. I won't see anyone else in Charlotte.

I wasn't asked about the pressure throughout the entire massage, but I was randomly wincing and recoiling at the pain. I could not relax, let go, or drift off. I wouldn't come back here. When I expressed how the face massage wasn't what I expected less than 5 minutes in, I was still charged full price for this service. There were also multiple points throughout the massage where the masseuse was hands off, and not massaging my body to grab lotion or whatever else, instead of keeping supplies handy. I'm saddened that this has been one of my worst "spa" experiences to date.
