I took some very nice, name brand ladies' clothing that was like new. In fact, some were new. I was told they were "not youthful" enough. When I looked at their website, it didn't say they only wanted a specific age range. They suggested that perhaps another store would take them, but they weren't sure. Very condescending. I won't go to any of their locations and wouldn't want recommend it to anyone. From other reviews I have read, I probably wouldn't have got enough cash to bother with. "Cheapskate" suits them, but there is nothing "uptown" about the store or their employees. read more

I have came here 2-3 times to sell my clothes rather than purchasing clothes. Do not get me wrong, when you buy clothes from Uptown Cheapskate, the clothes are reasonable. However, the problem isn't with buying, its with selling your clothes. I have come here multiple times with two (2) full bags of clothes and shoes, that are name brands. These included, TOMS, Victoria Secret, Lululemon Athletica, GAP, Jcrew, and New Balance. They look through your clothes/ shoes, and they pick and choose what THEY want, which I get. For example, Uptown Cheapskate chose to "buy" two (2) out of my six (6) bras, that I had in my bag. All of my bras were in the same condition, I do not get why they only wanted the two. With the two (2) bras that they wanted; they also took a sweater. For three (3) items they paid me $12. Whatever way payout prices are determined, it is not right. I wasn't expecting a lot of money, but I wasn't expecting $12. Another example was with my New Balance Shoes, these shoes have never been worn and they did not want to buy it from me. I understand that some items are a bigger sell than others, but it just does not make any sense. I will no longer be doing business with Uptown Cheapskate. If you want to sell your clothes, try Poshmark!!!! Yes there are pro's to cons with them, but its better than this place! read more

How are you going to say you stop buying when it's only 4:30pm and buying time is supposed to be till 6 on a Friday. Wasted my time going all the way to the store only to be turned away. There are so many sales. Honestly at this point I probably go too often. But finding cute stuff at a few dollars is addictive. Everyone is friendly too. The clothes are clean, though sometimes a bit torn or holey so check before you buy. I haven't sold anything so I can't comment on that process but they must not be too picky since the place is always fully stocky. read more

This store is a huge disappointment, starting with the customer service. The owner was incredibly rude, blonde old lady. Not a greeting when I came up to the counter, not a single bit of friendliness. The second associate that assisted me also had a horrible attitude, there is no professionalism in this store.
