Next, I handed in two bags of clothes that some of the items were considered to be high end but left with $45... I would love to go back and see how much they are charging for my clothes I gave them. Lastly, now this is the most outrageous part. The teenage girls that they have working this place are insanely rude when it comes to looking at peoples clothing. I had a LOT of clothes I NEVER wore and thought I'd make some easy cash by taking them here. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. That being said I wouldn't recommend this as an option. You will make more money by selling your clothes in a rummage sell. Out of over 100 items (dress shirts, dress pants, etc) they only paid for 33 items. The rest were supposedly donated. The majority had NEVER been worn & many still had tags on them. They will only take a limited number of items in a day. I made two trips to take my stuff there and only ended up with $105. My advice is just donate your clothes or have a garage sell. You'll come out much better. read more

Have been here twice, and made one purchase - a brand new pair of jean shorts for my daughter. We both found the selection of second hand clothes to be sub par. Lots of tank tops, but not much else. Very limited sizes. We didn't find the employees to be very friendly, either. And during our most recent visit, we were the only ones wearing masks. Been shopping here for a while, it is my favorite place to shop. I always find great brands for great prices. I consigned for the first time yesterday and had a fine experience. I brought tons of stuff I planned to donate whatever they did not take. I got 45 bucks for 11 pieces and I am totally fine with that. I recommend consigning and buying! For buyers I'm sure it's great. Looks like they had a large selection of clothes. For consigners, it's not your best option. I took 5 pieces in that were mid to high end brands. They were classic pieces so therefore out of fashion was not an excuse. She offered me $15 store credit or $18 cash up front. Um, no thanks. With all the cute clothes and deals, I could have spent hours here! Uptown Cheapskate is an upscale re-sale shop, similar to Buffalo Exchange, with lots of quality used clothes, shoes and accessories. Their prices are very reasonable. Keep in mind that the prices varied, but here are some approximate prices: Shirts: $6 Shoes: $10 Dresses: $12 Skirts: $8 Though these prices would be a little high for a traditional thrift store, there are a lot of trendy, well-cared for clothes available. On top of that, I went during their sale, so there were a lot of discounts on their clothes. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Louisiana. read more

I understand them not taking formals anymore, but their cash back is ridiculous. They were willing to take 2 of my dresses that were not formal, both very nice and in the best possible condition. Together I paid close to $100 for them, at least. They wanted to give me $10 in cash. I get that they have to make money, but I don't think that's a reasonable offer at all. They have a larger selection of gently used clothing and shoes and purses. They have some accessories and perfumes and what not. The prices are pretty good and they also purchase your used clothing. They will wither give you 1/3 cash back of what the item is worth or they will give you store credit. That is usually 25% but for the summer they are giving 40% store credit. They do not have kids clothing but plan on opening one up on Airline Drive soon and so they are taking used kids clothing as well. Call to get the times that you can bring in your clothing before you make a trip. I would have given 5 stars but I don't know how much my used clothing is going to bring me and they don't sell kids clothes yet. read more

I used to like this store and was able to find good things, but now all of their items are either forever21 (not worth buying second hand) or 'new' items the store brings in that are WAY overpriced. Im talking $40 for a shirt. Sorry, but I dont think most people go to a second hand store to pay that much for a plain tshirt. The new clothes didn't bother me at first because they had their own area, but now they're mixed in with the resale items. So i went in to uptown cheapskate yesterday to sell some clothes and well long story short i went in with 2 pairs of miss me jeans and got home and was missing the one pair they did not buy. So i called the manager and told her what happend. Her response was that she could not do anything for me she had a dinner date she had to be at and well hung up. So she called me back this morning and told me she "looked" at the cameras and said that both pair of jeans were looked at and one was bought and the other was put back. Recently experienced a bad time while shopping here with my wife. While my wife was trying on clothes in the dressing room, I squeezed by the employee so that my wife could come out and show me her outfits. The employee thought I was trying to enter the dressing room with my wife, and she quickly said "Uhm only one person is allowed in a dressing room". While waiting for my wife, I witnessed three women enter a room at once while the worker was standing there. Then she helped TWO women into a room. This store is a ripoff. I went in today to sell clothes at a little before 4. I asked the woman at the buy counter how long the wait would be and she said between 20 and 30 minutes. I told her I wanted cash instead of store credit and that I would be back when they called. I came back an hour later (still no call) only to see that they still had not started looking through my stuff. They said mine was the last one to be gone through but that I was next. I left the store again and waited for a call. At 6, they finally called and said that they were taking some items and it would be worth $22 and I had three days to come get it. I told the woman I was going out of town for the weekend, and assumed they would be closed for Memorial Day, so I asked if I could pick it up Tuesday. They told me I needed to come pick it up before then, so I got back in my car and drove to the store for the third time today. When I got there, the woman told me they were buying 8 items for a total of $22. Based on the items I was selling, one of which was a dress I bought for $72 (never been worn, I still have the tag) I knew this was an unfair price so I asked for my items back and was told that because I dropped them off and left the store that the sale was final. When I asked for a receipt for my items, they told me they didn't provide them for bought items. This whole experience lasted nearly 3 hours and I lost probably $100 worth of clothes and all I got was $22. Such a waste. I learned my lesson though. At 5:17 pm July 12, 2014, I went into Uptown Cheapskate in Bossier City, La to shop. I had my one year old and her diaper needed to be changed. I asked one of the employee Jolene where was the restroom. She promptly replied the bathroom was out of order. I told her that was fine I only wanted to change my daughter's diaper. She said I couldn't and pointed to the restaurant across the parking lot and said they would have one. She was very rude. This is the third time there has been an issue in this store. I strongly sense prejudice with the employees not the manager. I haven't noticed one Black, Hispanic, or Asian employee. On a previous visit I brought in clothes to sell. The young Caucasian employee took my first items , but then another Caucasian girl came in with clothes as well.my clothes were put aside and she proceeded to help this person who came in after me. I said, "Excuse me I was here first." She replied, "Well she's waiting in the car," I told her I'm standing here waiting in the store. She didn't reply and continued with the person who came in after me. I tend to not report things like this because I am above stupidity but after today no more. I will report to the CEO Sloan if I have to and post on Facebook and every review on the Internet if it continues to be this way in this store. That is, prejudice. I've been to this store twice. The first time I was not impressed. For one, the new clothes that they sell are cheap, off brand and overpriced. There is a large selection of leggings each for about 12 dollars. I've bought an exact pair from an online boutique for about seven dollars and they weren't worth that. I have a feeling the owner has worn a pair and knows they're cheap yet still sells them to her customers for nearly double. The men's new tops are also off brand and awful. The staff was neither friendly not helpful on either occasion. They did buy some of the clothes I brought in but are inconsistent in their choices and don't offer much. I also don't think they are really going through the clothes. It took less than 10 minutes for them to go through three bags of clothes, choose only a handful and then offer to "donate" the rest. I'm suspicious of that. I went back the second time hoping that I'd gotten the wrong impression on my first visit. But, i decided I will not go back and do not recommend this place. read more
