There's a huge company behind this small restaurant :) Upper Crust is a brand of SSP Group plc (Food Travel Experts), UK based operator of branded restaurants in travel locations in 29 countries. They work at 125 airports and over 270 rail stations around the world (source: company website).
Upper Crust restaurant inside Estació d'Alacant is nice, clean and not expensive. You get here if you leave from or arrive in Alicante by train. Original UK concept of "the baguette specialists" is customized by renaming baguettes to "bocadillos" and by adding local ingredients like jamón. A bocadillo with a drink (soft drink, water or beer) is €4.95.
They also offer "tortilla" (aka "Spanish tortilla" or "Spanish omelette") - an egg omelette made with added potatoes and olive oil.
I know nothing about coffee, tastes fine to me here.
You can meet people here and talk before you head further to your destination. There's a sunny outdoor seating area and free WiFi.
