Sure, it costs money (but compared to the designer chair I was looking at online made of who knows what materials?). What do I have now? My dream chairs, with the fabric I wanted, solid wood construction inside (no particleboard here!) and the workmanship of excellence that can now be passed down for generations to come. I was skeptical about the couch not smelling like smoke as it was a large wrap around sofa made of microfiber. The couch was only a few months old so I was disappointed to know that I likely wouldn't get it back in acceptable condition. Fortunately, I was wrong and the couch came back good as new. The damage actually occurred on the way back while the restoration company was delivering the couch to our new place. We noticed almost immediately that there was a small tear on the side underneath the arm. We contacted the company and they apologized. They said they would pay for the repair and asked us to find a local company to fix it. It seems there are a bunch of places that do upholstery repair but it's a broad field as some specialize in furniture, boats, or vehicles. I found Nesbitt and called him for a quote. I explained that I was looking to replace a panel on the side of a couch and that I would have the exact cut fabric from the manufacturer (ordered separately). I think he quoted me $150 give or take. That seemed very fair so I had the restoration company pick up the couch and fabric to bring over. He had the job done in a week or so and it was delivered back good as new. Turns out it was only $125 which was even better than I was originally quoted. The couch looks brand new again!

(I randomly selected his name among a list of referrals provided by the front desk at N2N.) Well, it wasn't exactly that simple ... I actually needed him to pick up the chairs at the store the next day ... and hold them at his shop until I found and ordered the perfect fabric. He replied, "No problem" and assured me that my chairs would be safe in his shop until I was ready to move forward. (I did advance a reasonable deposit.) Well, it took me more than three months to find suitable fabric and for the custom order to arrive. As I was still working, Mr. Nesbitt graciously picked up the roll of fabric at my home, turned the job around in a matter of days and delivered the chairs and unused fabric back to my home. Hey, I'm a stickler for detail ... so when I say both chairs look great ... you can rest assured, they did ... and the price was fair. Flash forward two + years ... the fabric on the top of the covered bench in front in our bed needed some 'refreshing' so, I put the bench and unused fabric from the chairs in my car and headed to Nesbitt Upholstery. It was a bit tricky to find as there's no signage on Highway 17 North, but, Mr. Nesbitt's directions were simple, "Turn onto the driveway between the yellow house and Gerald's Tires ... if you pass Gerald's, you've gone too far." Soon after I made that right turn I saw the sign for Nesbitt Upholstery, knew that I was at the right place. Alfred met me outside his shop (the garage), he unloaded the bench and fabric and I went on my way. That was Friday, July 3. I received a call this morning (July 6) that my bench was ready and picked it up right after lunch. It looked brand new! I have a bit more fabric and considering some pillows. Who am I gonna call? Alfred Nesbitt, of course!

As advertised they have a store full of furniture that they've cleaned up and made pretty. My favorite part is that they'll paint it to the color of your liking. Change out hardware to your preference. And have new pieces coming and going constantly. I'm looking for a new chest to add color to my living room that is not white or gray! The size of the room requires for a piece that is around 3 ft tall and 6 ft long. I'm in no rush, so I hope to support local and find the perfect piece to make my room from Hello Cutie!

I was very impressed so I had them do my guest room furniture done. When it was delivered I noticed that my dresser wasn't completed so I had to have the owner come over and complete it. 2 weeks later I had my master bedroom done. It didn't go well. He rushed through the job didn't paint the back of my mirror, he half covered the holes that was left because they changed the hardware, smudged the paint on my chest and I demanded that they redo it. My advice is that you go by and ask to approve your furniture before they deliver it and don't pay until your furniture look as good as the furniture he has on display.

I saw the signs you guys have posted, And that little short guy still kept looking at me and then he said OK look around and I was like OK thanks then he turned, walked away and said I don't know why she kept staring at me he said with a nasty attitude, that point I turned around and looked at him and I said now I know why Dick's furniture is going out of business. When I first took it to Ed he looked at it and gave me a price and the repair needed to be done in one day so the car wouldn't have to stay overnight just in case it rained. Ed had no problem working and adjusting to my schedule rather like other shop I found that wanted me to bring the car and leave it for two days. I don't let ANYBODY drive that car and am glad I found Ed Ed did a great job but I need to go back next week for him to replicate the carpet in the front that needs replacing.
