Upon moving in there were still items belonging to the previous tenant. Cabinets were broken while I was moving in as well. Paint on the walls were already chipped. The paint was never fixed and the cabinets were fixed after months and several work orders. I put in several work orders to have the toilet paper rod be installed instead of on the ground where I found it when I moved in and it was installed months later and crookedly. The same situation goes for the towel rod. The mirror had rust stains all over it and was mounted to the wall so it was impossible for me to clean. The shower drain was so slowly that every shower quickly turned into a bath. The airflow was horrible, so there is no point in getting a one bedroom if you cannot even close the door to the bedroom without experiencing extreme temperature differences. The shuttle would randomly be cancelled often. The hallway smelled like something new every day and somehow it was never good--appalling. I vacuumed for hours after moving in and still picked up pet hair for months to come--I never had an animal in the apartment. The laundry room was disgusting and flooded often. People complain of stolen packages often. There are car break-ins in the neighborhood often. The pool is closed for over 75% of the year. To add insult to injury, there was no dishwasher either. After overpaying about $1200 a month in just rent, there are added monthly fees of about $100+ monthly. I would advise to NOBODY to ever live here. I wish I could give 0 stars. Horrible. read more

Living at university villages was an absolute nightmare. I lived at university village apartments for one year (2023-2024) for my first year of grad school. I was on the first floor (basement) apartment to start off with. It was my first time living alone which was already scary, and this apartment complex made me feel even more alone, especially in crisis scenarios and feeling little to no help. For starters, upon moving into my "new apartment" there was a lot wrong; ac not working properly, bath not draining correctly, closet door broken. The first really bad issue began in the winter when the heater stopped working in 30 degree Fahrenheit weather. I put in a maintenance request, with no response for over 24 hours, I eventually called, and they said they re-put it into the system and hopefully someone would come. 48 hours in, no one came. In an apartment I was trying to be an adult in, I had to get my parents involved to get anything done. With my parents calling multiple times, it was eventually looked at and fixed with us basically begging them to do so. Then a few days later my apartment flooded from both the sink and the bathtub at the same time overflowing. This occurred at 9pm at night. Emergency maintenance line was called, and the call was taken at a call center in Texas. There was no way to directly contact the maintenance workers about this incredibly urgent issue. I called multiple times, having to run back and forth to catch buckets and buckets of water. No maintenance workers were on site or near site, over 20-30 minutes away. No one showed up until midnight, and when they showed up they refused to shut off the water in the building or fix the issue; instead, someone who told me directly they were not a plumber and didn't have the right tools for this drained the pipe and told me to "hope" it would hold out to morning without flooding, and went upstairs to ask my neighbors above me to not run any water. It eventually was fixed, but it took a few days. This was a nightmare scenario. The only thing okay about this place was the landlord who compensated me for my trouble, but it didn't make up for the amount that has gone wrong with little to no attention or care put to it. I am aware they have a lot of tenants, but not addressing a broken heater in winter or a flooding apartment is a major concern. I decided to demand a unit change after all these problems, preferably to a higher floor. We agreed to a date for my new move in, with family traveling hours to help me move in. I found out the day of when going to pick up my new key that the unit wasn't ready for another 24 hours at least. Eventually it was "ready", but there was so much wrong. The AC didn't work, and neither did the stove or oven (oven light went on but didn't heat up ever), and when turned on caused the fire alarm to go off, along with major stains on the ground, broken door on the closet, etc. When maintence came to look, they turned on the oven, saw the light came on, and said the oven works and left. I had no way to cook. It once again took my parents getting involved for them to get me a new stove and oven a few days later. The AC unit also had to be fully replaced. I was told this apartment was fully checked and cleared; there is just no way maintenance checked it. Overall this is the worst living experience I've ever had; even other people I know who live or lived here said it was "okay", but maintenance didn't care in emergency situations to fix the issue. Buildings are VERY old, so fire is definitely a big hazard. There is a LOT of bugs, especially in the halls, even though we were very clean. You'll see flies, gnats, and cockroaches. Management is only a help sometimes. One time I asked them to help get into a different building because my Doordasher dropped it off in the wrong building. They gave me the code, and I put it in, it was wrong. They tried to say it was correct and that I was wrong.... then I called somebody else and they gave me a different code that worked. So, clearly something somewhere needs updated. Also, there's a lot of crime. My fiancé's car was broken into, mine wasn't (shockingly). Also, you pay for a $150 parking pass that I've literally never seen them look for once. I've never seen anyone towed, and there were HELLA cars without parking passes parked in our parking lot. And no, they weren't in the visitor parking spots. Overall, spend your money elsewhere. read more

Do not live here. Shitty/uncaring management and hyper inflated rent makes this one of the worst places to live in Columbus. For the amount that you would be paying to live here, you should be expecting 4-5 times the quality of what you're getting. Some of my largest complaints includes broken floorboards, no centralized air conditioning, bad crime, bugs, pests, and overfilled dumpsters. We also had the misfortune of having cockroaches and gnats despite having good hygiene and cleanliness, even in our hallways! The apartments were also built between 60 and 80 years ago, and are a huge fire hazard. During my stay here, we even had an entire apartment burned down from a downed wire. Even if you're desperate to find somewhere that's close to OSU campus, there are plenty of other options in the Columbus area that would meet your needs much better in quality and cost. read more

Now that I'm out of this mess, I'm going to share just some experiences from my 2 years here at UV. When I moved in, this place was disgusting. There are large permanent, brown stains on the carpet, the carpet was starting to come up (we'll come back to that later), pretty significant wall damage, and everything was FILTHY. When it gets warm in the units, oil seeps through the layers of paint in the kitchen and paint is falling off the walls in the bathroom. It was so awful, the former property manager took off my pet fee and rent and offered to replace the carpet, but by that time I was moved in and it was the day before class started. UV maintence finds every excuse to enter you apartment, unless it's to fulfill a request. I've always had to call and beg for them to fix my issues. But beware, they'll try to blame the problem on your pet if you have one. For example, that carpet that was coming up, came up so much that it exposed the floor at the front door from continuous opening and closing. UV said my 20 lbs dog ripped it up and that I let him and wanted to charge me nearly $100 to replace a 32x3in piece of carpet that the property manager admitted was atrocious and refunded me for at move in. That was a battle. Then there's the maintence staff who don't show after leaving letters threatening fees if you don't prep your unit for whatever random job they decide to take up in your unit (mine was light upgrades that I didn't ask for and they never did). A couple months into my second lease, I'm accused of violating my lease by having a dog. Why? Because the former property manager took all pet related charges from my account due to the deplorable conditions of my unit. So the new manager wanted me to pay all that money up till then. That was another battle because they couldn't find the documentation originally, so why bother even trying, right? The office is a disorganized mess and the front desk staff consistently rude and unknowledgeable. Every employee I've interacted with at the front desk has spoken to me like I'm a small child. The security they will tell you and/or your parents about is pathetic. A man sits in his car in the parking lots sometimes. That's it. We had people mess with cars one night and no one saw it, no one cared when it was told to the staff and the staff asked that we NOT call police. Then there was the time the office changed all the door codes but didn't deliver the new codes till after 12:30pm. So if you're a normal person and had to be somewhere before noon, you came home to find yourself locked out of your building with no notice. The buildings have infestations of different pests. In fact, I saw a dead cockroach in a laundry building just a few weeks ago. There have also been rats in the buildings, worse since the shopping complex closed. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's WAY too expensive for the low quality and poor treatment. Positives: there's a small gym, a pool, and bus service to campus. Do not rent from this place. All they do is lie to you about when and what they will do to improve your living experience. They have many amenities, but the apartments themselves are absolutely bottom-tier. Do not be fooled by the show apartments they have. The real ones are not nearly as well painted or cleaned. Expect to have pest infestations as a major issue. I am not the only one in my building to notice bad infestations of roaches. As of today, it has been over a month since I initially emailed the office and they have yet to completely clear the infestation from my apartment. I was told I have to wait another week before I can get it fumigated, where I will have to take a day off work to keep my dog safe. They offered no concessions for this occurrence and are going to force me to lose a day's pay for the inexcusable state of their apartment. Update, do not take their insurance policy. Get your own renter's insurance. They lie and say that it covered personal property, but it does not. They will also not give you any documentation regarding what the policy "actually" covers unless you ask. They only cover liability for their property and charge you way more than literally any other renter's insurance company. read more

My girlfriend rents a 3 bedroom apartment has had a squirrel living in the area above her ceiling and under the roof for 6 weeks now. It claws above her bed at all hours of the night keeping her up. The first month she hardly slept and it hurt her studies. UV won't even offer a discount on rent for that. After 3 weeks they installed traps which still haven't caught the animal. Now it is getting into the area above her roommate and keeping him up. They seem to be supported almost entirely by international students. Please if you see this review before leasing, consider elsewhere. Yes, they have a shuttle which is nice if you don't have a car, but that is UV's only redeeming quality. -June update: The squirrel has been taken care of for a couple months now. After we came back from our relaxing Spring Break trip we saw that the hole in the roof was closed. The squirrel was still inside and we got to hear it die a slow death, so that was... traumatizing. If I could give UV 0/5 I would. First let me say I have lived here for four years but will not be returning because of the horrible management and really hope to steer others away from this mess. In the fall I had my bathroom ceiling cave in and floor my apartment. It took them THREE WEEKS to entirely fix the problem. Maintenance staff was horrible and the management was incredibly rude when I (rightly) asked for compensation (they only gave me half off rent that month. Now during the COVID pandemic I asked if we would get a refund on our student life fee (like OSU did!) because we paid up front for services they aren't offering anymore. UV is a total SCAM! 1. Let's start with its inexpensive monthly rates! $735/m for a 1-bedroom, $850/m for a 2-bedroom. Nice! Oh, wait, you must pay $120/m for extra charges! It means you must pay more than $850/m for a 1-bedroom, and/or at least $950 for a 2-bedroom. Not cheap anymore! To say it more accurately, based on the age of the buildings and the amount of maintenance units might need, these rates are high! You can easily find a better apartment in this price range 2. As I mentioned, almost all buildings are old. So, they need constant maintenance. You think it is okay, but after several weeks you will be tired of that! I had several issues and UV's management and maintenance office helped me for none of them! The ceiling of my bathroom was leaking for several MONTHS! I reported the leak more than 10 times! And yet, they did not care enough to fix it permanently! And finally, at the end they charged me $30 for a not clean tub! 3. One of my neighbors was noisy and thanks to our old stinky building I could hear everything from my living room. Imagine someone has an argument with his roommate at 1:00 am and you hear it clearly from your living room! And again, the management helped me nothing! They did not even help me to find a new unit! 4. Some people in the leasing office are rude! Very rude! I had an issue with the lease contract and the amount of money I needed to pay for the last month. They were charging me for an extra money which was not mentioned in the lease contract. I was the at the leasing office and talking with the business manager, and suddenly, rudely, she interrupted me, "Sir, you are not going to win this fight! Do you have any other question?". I paid about $200 more than the total amount mentioned in the official lease! 5. In the last day, I cleaned my unit several times to make sure they are not going to charge me for anything extra. I took several pictures of my unit to make sure they are not charging me for fake charges! Eventually, they charged me $93 for some vague items like cleaning, damage, stain, etc. and sent a $6 check! $6! I tried to get a report of all the maintenance calls to have a show you how many times I submitted requests, they did not give me any report and they removed it from the online account. I have several pictures and videos with date/time which show how many times the ceiling of the bathroom was leaking and no one cared about it. read more

The most exploitative rental company I ever worked with. Do not trust what the staff tells you and ask many clarifying questions. They will stretch the truth and willfully fail to disclose important information. Avoid, please. Important information will NOT be in the lease. We lost grant funding on a study I was working on at OSU and I had to move to a new city on very short notice. When I signed the lease, I read it over and asked what would happened if I had to break it, because I saw just a subleasing option. The person told me they preferred we sublease, but they would accept two months rent payment to buy out if needed. Unfourtantly, when the time came that I needed this option, I was told there was no buy out policy, period, and I had to find a subleter. Easy enough, right? So posted the apartment online and got some offers within the month before the Fall semester started. I secured a subleter and notified the leasing company. They told me that this person now had to apply (for a $100 fee); this was not in the lease but we went along with it. It took a few days to approve and then I was told there was a mandatory inspection, also not in the lease, but I was at the mercy of the company now, so I said okay. I was sent a "insception document" to sign that stated a) the inspection would be completed in 2 weeks, b) I would pay for any repairs out of pocket and not from my security deposit, and c) I would agree to forfeit my security deposit, in full, to the new subletter. I was completely blind sided by this; none of this was in my lease. The only thing mentioned that was in my lease was that there was a $150 subleasing fee, but now, in the "inspection document," it was suddenly a $200 fee. I begrudgingly signed the document and told my potential subletter the details (none of which were passed on to him). He apologized, but said he would need to find somewhere else to live because the semester would be well underway by the time we finished this process. There was little I could do. After the semester started I go no more offers have continued to have to pay two rents. I am taking out loans now to cover both and I have reached out to the company multiple times to try to come to a settlement since I am not ever near Columbus anymore and cannot even show the apartment. The only response I have gotten is to find a subleter or, I'd I fail to pay, they will send my rent payments to collects. Funny, since my credit is already taking a hit from these loans. I have rented from over 7 companys and individuals and have never had such a negative or impersonal experience. I've had to break a couple leases due to work changes, but have never been given such a hard time. Avoid, please. There are safer options. Moral of the story, always ask if there is a buy out policy and make sure it's in the lease. Otherwise do not sign. read more

This is one of the best apartments I've been to since I started college! They have so many cool amenities like busing to OSU! It's super convenient AND free, it's way better than paying for a parking pass. They also have a huge pool and they even serve drinks ;) The apartments themselves are pretty cool too, really spacious for the price I'm honestly paying. The staff is super friendly, and always helpful- Asha and Tessa are always really nice to me, and always have an answer for any questions I ever have! I am a current resident and student at Ohio State. When I moved in the apartment was cleaned prior so I had to clean it all myself with my roommates.. the linoleum under the fridge is all torn back and filthy, which I put in a maintenance request over a month ago for and was never fulfilled. I was never given a mail key when i moved in so my roommates and I cant access our mail. Today I went to ride the UV buses to class and was denied because I didnt have a UV ID card, which I didnt know I needed because my roommates and I were never given one. So now I am late for class, have to put out $20 of my own money to park on campus today and it seems like I payed the resident life fee for nothing because I cant use the buses. read more

The Negatives: (1) The leasing office can be unorganized, unapproachable, and typically does not return calls unrelated to selling a new apartment. For example, when requesting an annual lease for the third time, the leasing agent originally sent a lease for four months, then six months - had I not noticed this in the contract myself, there would have been no mention of it. For another example, I had a situation where there was an electrical outlet problem in my apartment and had been unsuccessful in contacting maintenance (three times total). When I reached out to the leasing department for help, they acknowledged my request, though there was never any follow through. For the three years I lived here, the leasing office has always been managed by students or recent graduates in their early to mid- twenties (in addition to 1-2 adults who sit in the back occasionally). As a result, they often lack the business acumen and appropriateness that you would get at other apartments in the area (ex: The Lennox and Meridian are other nearby options that are slightly more costly though have excellent management). (2) Many tout UV as being a safe place to live. Back when I lived at the edge of Stinchcomb, our apartment had a very scary "break-in" prior to there being door-codes. There had been several males in their mid-20's that were stopped by police in our parking lot, then proceeded to enter our building and the building attached to ours. They touched all the doorknobs on my floor, attempting to enter. My particular doorknob was damaged. This happened after by car was broken into twice (Summer and Fall of 2014), in which my registration and radio equipment was stolen. (3) There is a pool toward the end of the community, though it is largely filled with small children and very loud. If you think you will meet friends here and spend time quietly reading a book, you are out of luck in my experience. (4) I have found in the more recent years, that students have a tendency to smoke in the apartments. Directly above us, a tenant regularly smoked marijuana which smelled up the apartment for up to 24 hours and had loud parties fairly regularly. To our right, a girl could be seen frequently smoking out of her bedroom window. Also unfortunately, the construction workers that UV hired had no problem smoking in the building in the apartment they were repairing. For example, on June 1, 2017, I witnessed one of the construction workers smoking directly out of the window at 11:16 am. (5) Speaking of the construction workers... It was not unusual where I lived to see construction workers cat-calling females, as well as myself. This is street sexual harassment. It was also not unusual to see construction workers throwthrowing metal and wood and carpet directly out of second story windows. There was a time this past summer, where a construction worker nearly hit a young male walking by a window as he through a metal piece out the window. I will have a photo uploaded to show this situation in greater detail. It is really sad to see the quality of workers that UV third-party hired because they made the summer of 2017 truly difficult and unsafe feeling. (6)I would recommend you avoid the laundry room at all costs, and try very hard not live in an apartment that has a laundry room. In both of the apartment buildings I have used the laundry, the smell can be so strong it will make you gag. In both laundry rooms, I experienced very wet floors and uncleanliness. In 2017, I had an experience where someone regularly was going through my laundry, particularly my personals, unless I directly watched it - which may be your only option. Creepy. Tips for Parents (1) It is crucial that you visit Riverview Drive, the street parallel to Stinchcomb, prior to having your child live in UV. This street is not affiliated with the University Village, though shares a backyard with a metal fence to many apartments. I would recommend going more than once. (2) There have been three notices sent to me during my stay at UV of rapists or sexual harassers who have moved into Wilce (the street behind Stinchcomb and Harley), and into the neighborhood behind UV. I have never had an issue regarding this matter, but I also would not take it lightly. (3) You may have seen the "Tiki Bar" advertised at UV's pool. In my experience, everyone has always been carded appropriately and there have been police present at all of the parties I ever attended (though I am not sure if that is still the case). (4) There is a growing population of homeless - and aggressive homeless - in this area. I have been confronted four times by homeless men, two of which have followed me, begging for money and getting aggressive with me when I did not provide it. All times were in the Kroger supercenter area, 0.28 miles from my apartment at UV. (5)Realize that there is a "mystery" bill (EAS) in addition to the rent you may be paying for your child. $140 for water. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! They lure (mostly international) students in with a deceivingly nice website with pictures of a great, well maintained community center. That is the absolute only thing that they put effort into. The apartments themselves are crap. The hallways smell like cigarettes. The carpets are sticky. The fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom look like they got them at Goodwill in the 80's. The building's heating and plumbing systems make loud, ridiculous noises all day and night. ONLY HALF of the buildings have laundry. The rent price is a lie. I'll say it again. THE RENT PRICE IS A LIE!! In addition to rent, you pay a $200 "resident life fee," no doubt going to maintain the community center so they can lure more unsuspecting students in. Maintenance is rude and inconsiderate. I have neighbors who had maintenance come in, punch a hole in the ceiling, and then leave. They wouldn't let me reschedule a pest control appointment in the middle of finals week (yes, there are cockroaches here.) This place is a corrupt, University-affiliated business (like CampusParc) that exists, not to provide a pleasant place to live, but to take advantage of unsuspecting students. Steer clear. read more

I do not recommend this area to anyone. Maintenance is unreliable and slow. Nothing gets fixed within a reasonable time frame. Apartment had bugs. Walls are paper thin. You can hear all your neighbors. Fitness center patrons have no respect for the facility. Some of the apartment buildings are right next to a street that is known for having a sex offender. I've been almost hit by one of the buses on NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, particularly bus HES 1730. I've also been almost hit by the buses twice when I was on campus. None of these drivers know how to drive well. The fitness center cleaning lady has no respect for the patrons when she uses the handheld vacuum. She allows the air from the vacuum to go onto the patrons... Fitness center music IS WAY TOO LOUD. I can hear them through headphones. It's also ridiculous that this is a pet friendly apartment complex when FIFTY PERCENT OF THE RESIDENTS ARE SCARED OF DOGS. This makes no sense. Lastly, UNIVERSITY VILLAGE IS A SCAM AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE APARTMENTS TO ANYONE. EDIT: These apartments are WAY overpriced for the amenities. Units don't have a dishwasher and you have to pay for laundry. $1.50 for washing and $1.50 for drying clothes. $1000 for a bedroom apartment that's only 416 sq feet and a $1007 for a two bedroom apartment that's only 589 sq feet?? Definitely not reasonable AT ALL. I would recommend that those considering UV live ELSEWHERE. Again, I would not recommend this UV at all. read more

Ahhh UV where to start??? My boyfriend and I lived in our unit for a 13 month lease. Upon move in everything seemed decent. Somewhat clean apartment, very old carpet, a little stink to it, but not too bad. When you move in they make you submit a maintenance sheet of everything that you need fix. Awesome, right? Wellll turns out they take the sheet and file it without sending anyone out to look at anything. Maintenance turned out to be a complete disaster. Our fridge door was broke from the time we moved in to the time we moved out with several maintenance request submitted. About 3 months into our lease, before we got our dog, we started to notice our carpet coming up. We called maintenance and they said they would be out right away. Surprise, surprise, they never showed. Fast forward three months and we adopted a dog (don't even get me started on their ridiculous pet deposits)!! At this point the carpet had completely come up in every room but our own. When we moved out we were charged a "pro rated" amount of $200 to fix the carpet!!! Mind you the carpet was 6 years old AND we had called maintenance to fix it to no avail. The last two months of us living there were a complete joke. At this point they had started to remodel the units and had several construction companies constantly in and out. One company entered our unit without us receiving a notice, turned ON our AC and left it ON all day, left our door unlocked, spilled some kind of liquid everywhere, and shoved our dog into our bedroom despite her anxiety. These companies could also be seen smoking outside of windows and throwing metal debris outside the second story window. What the hell!?? This is only a sample of the problems must-have at UV!! I have been living here too enough to tell everybody to stay away from this place and I have so many stories to tell as soon as I get out of this hell!! I just want to mention today story! UV transferred my bill to a new company without my permission! They said it is optional if you want to go with Simplebills service or stay with AEP. I sent them an EMAIL (I have the email and their response) that I am happy with AEP and I would love to stay with them! Today Simple bill told me that UV REQUIRED ALL residents to go with them ( I have their email too)! And guess what! TWO companies asked me to pay my electricity bill; AEP, and simple bill!!! I called UV to ask them to fix the problem they just created because of their unorganized office members and they said; it is not our problem! Call the AEEP and simple bill by yourself and ask them to fix your problem)!!!! They just ruined my day; instead of studying for my tomorrow big exam I wasted 6 hours between two companies and my problem still unresolved! Imagine yourself in this kind of problems every month then you can decide if you want to live here or not! STAY AWAY! Very disappointed. My roommate and I live here for two years. We live on the bottom floor. Every summer, when someone takes shower upstairs, all the dirty water would flow in to my bath tub. You can clearly see the soap bubbles, hairs and black mud from the pipes. Once I was having a bath and suddenly dirty water rises. I was so scared and jumped out of the tub. After that, I asked for maintenance several times but they said they could do nothing because they don't want to break the wall and fix or clean these water pipes. So, ive lived here for a year or two. Things you should know, we have seasonal fruit fly, roach and ant issues, occasional kitchen sink and bathtub floodings. We also have a 24 hour maintenance line free, free beer at the pool weekly in the summer, free food and drink for football tailgates, organized trips, a bus to OSU campus, lots of wildlife including some overzealous squirrels, stationary bbq pits, a diverse neighborhood and solid community. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE! This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. Staff is rude, they left black mold in my apartment which got me and my roommates incredibly sick for a month, shower was awful, buildings are quite run down, and the space is not worth the money. Last but not least they have me a bunch of charges after I left siting that the place wasn't properly cleaned when I spent EIGHT HOURS cleaning the place. Save yourself the hassle and just don't live here. This place SUCKS! read more

UV is a very safe and comfortable place to live. I love the environment and activities here. I have been living in UV for almost 2 years already; I will continue live here since I think the location is also convenient for school, and grocery shopping. People work at the leasing office are very nice and helpful. The apartment is very well maintained. read more

Horrible ! Horrible place to live in ! Worst nightmare came true. Once you sign the contract management will try and sabotage your every attempt to sublease or find a new person to replace you. They will be intentionally rude and scare away every potential subleaser, harass you to continue paying, they are cold-hearted and as previous renters have remarked "evil". If you want to be threatened by management to never leave, and people being rude to your face then yes go ahead if not stay the heck away from this place. Have not been able to move for a job or life because they have been harassing me and preventing me from leaving and from subleasing for the past year. I have been living here for 3 months. I was to be put in a brand new apartment but the construction was not finished so they put me in a 3 bedroom until my apartment was complete. As aggravating as this process was, everyone from the leasing department to the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The facilities and amenities are great, especially the punctual shuttle. I have one of the brand new units so everything in my apartment is perfect. The only negatives i have about the place is that it is very expensive, and there are a lot of fees. Such as an annual student life fee, lockout fees (almost 100$!!!), and if you lose your I.D. it"s 50$!! They need to understand life happens. So far so good. I hope it's not fake. Our hot water stop working the other day and it took till the end of the day for them to actually come out and fix it for us which is a bit crazy. But it didn't get fixed Finally. There was a water leak in our ceiling and there is a ceiling stain on it now which we told them and has not been fixed. They heater barely works but I don't get cold too easy. Also, there are way to many Asians that don't speak English.. read more

The new Resident life center is really good. The prices are a bit on the higher side. It is a bit far from the campus but they have buses running during the day time. The frequency is bad on weekends and late in the evenings. read more

The best part about UV is that you have lots of friends being your neighborhood. If you don't have car, you will find that a punctual shuttle is very necessary. read more

They try to take money in all possible ways. For example, To sublease they took 150 dollars for "paper work" apparently which was not even mentioned in the lease agreement explicitly. Too many hidden charges and no consideration for the residents.Living conditions are ok though quite expensive.Do not get fooled by pics as the apartment is nothing like it. There is not even an ounce of furniture , except the stove and fridge. You need to spend to set up an entire house in addition to every charge they levy on you.So better more convenient options out there. The sublease part is the worst. Imagine paying 150 bucks when the person replacing you is paying the exact same rent and so there is no loss for them.So if you have to move for say work,my advice would be don't choose the place if you do not want to suffer losses as I have.Thanks for that UV. read more

I have been here for one month and already regret signing my lease. We've had plumbing issues from day 1 and they have done NOTHING to actually fix the issue. We have informed maintenance and the leasing office multiple times and nothing has been done. The one maintenance guy who actually spoke to us about the issue said that "I tried what I could but this solution will not last". I think being able to shower without DIRTY water from someone else's shower/bathroom would be a concern for whoever runs this place; apparently not. -- I was reading through reviews and saw that I am not the only person that has had this plumbing problem! How is this acceptable treatment of your tenants?! Stop building new students centers and actually fix the places where students are living. There are also ants all over the place and some have even bitten my roommate. I cannot wait to leave this awful apartment and move somewhere else next year. I have no intentions of renewing my lease for this awful awful apartment and I highly recommend that anyone that is seriously looking at this place to reconsider. This headache of an apartment is not worth it. EDIT: I changed my initial one star review to three stars. Shortly after i posted this, I received a call from management and they came in and fixed my problems. I am less unhappy with this place now. However, it took me writing a negative review to get their attention about the issues that I've had. While I do appreciate them fixing it, it should not have taken this long nor should I have had to write a negative review for this to occur. read more
