Do not hire this company. They significantly overcharged and did a poor job. I needed my chimney and cap cleaned because it was not venting well. $450 and one hour later the chimney was "cleaned". I found out later they did not clean the cap that was filthy and did not allow for air transfer. I contacted the company and they said that was not part of the service despite being told by the technician that it would be cleaned. On 20 March 2026, I had an appointment with Universal Air Duct Cleaning. I had made an appointment with this company to clean my air ducts and dryer vent on a new house I had purchased. What they show on their website is a professional service with duct cleaning equipment and industrial vacuums. What shows up is a guy in a Tacoma with a hand vacuum. This individual immediately began talking about black mold and "inspected" the ducts. He told me there was mold around my HVAC coil, and began to outline this extensive treatment he was going to work, including cleaning the system and ducts, spraying the affected areas and installing a UV light. Once they told me the work was complete I paid the individual and they left, I went to move the dryer and noticed it was still filthy. There was still handfuls of lint. This led me to inspect the other work, and the vents were still dirty, and the only "treatment" they did was installing a small UV light. When I knew I was scammed by this company is when they messed up and left the box for the light. The brand, Green UV, takes you to a fake website, https://www.greenuv.com, which is meant to trick homeowners into believing that these simple UV lights are really priced at $1,250. These are found on Amazon for $60-$80 max. They will try to convince you that these are "higher quality" and/or "made in the USA" but it is all meant to trick the homeowner into purchasing something they don't need. With both businesses, Green UV and Universal Air Duct Cleaning being run out of Florida I would not be surprised if they were part of one big scam. The charge to my credit card didn't even go to the company I booked with. It went to something called SP Universal Chimney. I called the company the next day with no response, so I wrote them. I told them no treatment had been performed, a guy in a truck showed up and that my vents were still dirty, and they told me I booked a "basic cleaning package" which apparently doesn't include cleaning. 1600 dollars and I am left with a 60 dollar light and filthy vents. After a week of no response I've decided to file a complaint with the FTC, FBI and will be moving forward in small claims court. Do not trust this company, you will end up wasting your time fighting to get your money back (which I'm glad to do). If you see/hear anything related to black mold, universal Air duct cleaning or Green UV, it is an absolute scam. read more

DO NOT Hire and do not let them in your home. My husband set up an appointment for a quote. They showed up i showed them the issue with our fireplace. They looked at it and said maybe they can get it to work for $400 but would not if their fix did not work and that it would probably need replaced and that would cost $1700. They barely spoke english and were mainly on the phone the whole time. they brought in a shop vacuum and vacuuming out the fireplace was the fix they did. The fireplace came back on but the logs were not put back in place yet nor face cover. They put everything back and i noticed that the logs were put back incorrectly and a day later Texas got hit with a winter storm and the fireplace would not turn on again which was the original problem. Per their invoice there is a 14 day service gaurantee and a 30 day limited warranty. I immediately contacted them for a refund for just the $400 not the $ service fee. They wanted to comeback and fix the fireplace but it would cost me $1700. This was unacceptable as other companies quoted replacing the part for less than $400. Company agreed to a refund which I have yet to receive. When I did not receive the refund I contacted them again and was ignored. I disputed with my back but since service was through zelle you have to go through the company. I am now taking legal action and filing a police report and taking other measures. The technician came in and assessed that we had a dryer vent to the roof that was "leaking" and not sealed and that large amounts of dust were in the attic. We also had a one foot vent in the downstairs dryer that just needed a quick hand and suction cleanout. It was 11:00 AM, and he gave us the impression that it would take the rest of the afternoon to fix the roof dryer vent upstairs. He came back less than two hours later and said he was done and that the charge would be $1100 for two hours of labor. He also said there would be a $176 credit card fee. When I said I could use a debit card or write him a check, he said the company only takes credit cards or cash. When I objected, he raised his voice then called his boss who said that they would reduce the charge to lower the total cost which would be $1118. I went ahead and paid to get him out of the house because he was getting louder and more threatening. This was $550 per hour of wasted labor.
