When we all arrived (the four of us), a gentleman named Edward and a lady named Bea were there to greet us. They made us feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable of times. They explained everything to us, answered our questions, and were just so thorough. They didn't try to oversell us on things. They just listened to what we wanted and then gave their thoughts on what would be appropriate. We wanted someone who was going to be respectful to our dad's body after he was gone and this was the place! My dad died two weeks later and it was such a relief to have preplanned with Sullivan's Highland. It is a family business and everyone was extremely caring and knowledgeable. They were so professional yet extremely courteous. You never want to think of the death of a loved one, but this is the place to go if you are in the Fayetteville, NC area. Waiting on report from State Board, it is very evident they charged double than stated in Pre Needs…read morepaid in 2004, David added prices to things already covered in Pre Needs in 2004. They refused to disclose 17 years of interest be had built up on our Pre Need policy. This is all documented thoroughly. Many others in the same business has been told of this and can't believe what they did to us and my deceased wife and even pushed a final bill and statement in my face before my wife was even cremated. They pocketed hundreds of our money and didn't even go by the locked in price on our Pre Needs from 2004. Another Funeral Home told me about the interest my wife had on her policy for 17 years and also told me how much remains on my policy from 2004 which I have already transfer to another Funeral Home. But as I stated this is a place with many family personal problems throughout the years. I will be posting the complete 2004, Pre Need online so everyone can read for themselves. If this is the exposure they want they sure will get it. You don't steal deceased people's money like they have done.

Beware if considering Lafayette Memorial Park West for a loved one - look elsewhere! We were…read moreshocked and upset when the wrong grave site was prepared for a family member's burial due, in part, to an administrative error. No one reached out to us at that time to apologize or make other amends. A staff member did send a nice card and sincerely apologized. When I called and spoke with the owner, she was insincere in her apology, saying "mistakes happen" and deferred to her staff to handle the situation. She ignored my requests on how to address the problem. Mistakes happen - in this case, however, the owner failed to respond promptly, accept responsibility, and make things right by our family. On a related note, the cemetery grounds are bleak and unappealing to visitors with flowers tipped over and tattered flags on grave sites. Under its current ownership/management, this may not be a good place to lay a loved one to rest. Before selecting a cemetery, read their reviews, talk to staff and visit the cemetery to see if it's the best place for your loved one. You'll be glad you did.
