We started attending when living in the area temporarily while our home was being renovated and never left, even though it's a long ride from our home. I babysit my 2 year old grand nephew on Sundays and he attends bridge kids. At first my niece was nervous, she's a single mom and protective. One visit to bridge kids and that child can't wait for next week. I appreciate the investment Bridge places in their children's ministry and have experienced first hand what a 2 year old can learn and how what he's learning has impacted his life. He talks about Jesus and has made friends. There truly is the exact right space for every person, adult, college, high school, grade school and little ones at this church.

Going inside the building, the greeters welcomed us and even hugged us. After we were seated inside the church, we were greeted by staff walking around, asked how we're doing, how our week has been, do we need prayers for anything?!! Felt very welcomed! The worship team is amazing, when they sing I feel like it's just me and God now!! My kids love the youth night on Wednesday nights!!

I just love being in the Chancel Choir. I have been with the choir since the last year that Pastor Sung Ja was Pastor. I loved Pastor Sung Ja & Paula & Loryn really drove the Choir to practice, but, I liked standing on the rafters that one year and singing our Christmas Concert. Now Karen Bruchman! Wow! What a music director! I just love her. Her music is peaceful & soothing. I appreciate the fact that we have a piano and pipe organ. Some churches do not have them & that is one thing that spells home to me. I must also praise Bessie's Table. The church staff for this puts out a wonderful dinner for community people. Not only Bessie's but we have other Charitable efforts that are to be praised! We help the less fortunate in many ways. Every year both adults and children help in other states in our United States to minister to Indians, and just people who really need the help. We also help Des Plaines Food Pantry. We also allow donations to help animals and The Buddy Foundation. We have held a coat drive for the poor and needy! Yes, I really hand it over to FUMC DP for all their kindnesses. God Bless FUMC Des Plaines!

I have been to a lot of churches in my life and this is by far my favorite. Everyone is very warm and welcoming and laid-back. New Life is a non-denominational Christian church. We currently meet at 15 campuses in and around the city of Chicago. It is a multi-generational and multi-ethnic congregation. The people I've met here are really friendly and passionate for God. People are not as dressy as they are at a lot of churches which I like. Jeans/t-shirt are fairly common. This location's senior pastor, Asa App, is solid and has a deep love for the Lord and passion for people. He's very real and dynamic in his talks and speaks Scripture. Pastor Asa is truly a man of God with passion, energy and love that can only be from living and loving the Lord. I thoroughly enjoy his messages and he definitely brings it down to earth many of the concepts that are difficult to understand biblically. The worship contemporary and is a good mixture of heartfelt praise and joyous worship and is spirit led. They have many small groups that meet in the church buildings or at people's homes through out the week. They are a great way to meet people and make friends. New Life, like any church, isn't perfect and isn't for everyone, but for me, it has been a blessing. I have a family there and feel deeply loved and moved by God each time I go to church. For the first time in a long while, I've felt compelled to give to a church, because of the heart I see for Jesus at its root. * plenty of free parking too

I was invited to go to Redeemer by a friend of mine a few months ago and my whole idea of going to church has changed since then. I remember the first day I went, I was unsure of what I was getting myself into. The church was small and the pastor was wearing a flannel and jeans. However, as the service continued I started to really like it. People who didn't even know me welcomed me to the church and introduced themselves. They even sent me a welcoming package to my house with some information about the church and some brownies! (They were amazing by the way) I made friends with all of the people around my age the same day I arrived. Everyone there is so friendly and I feel as if I can talk to anyone there even if I don't know them. The church also has many programs to sign up for such as car washes, youth group trips, and so much more. It's a very interactive place to be. You're not just sitting in a chair the whole time listening to a long speech. The pastor makes everything fun to listen to. When it was time to go, I figured we would just leave right away and I would go home. However, I was surprised when I found myself staying after for a snack provided by the church and talked to a few people while we were there. We didn't end up leaving for another hour or so after! I had so much fun. I continue to go to this church and recommend it to everyone! People of all ages, races, genders, and religious backgrounds are welcome here. I can almost guarantee you'll love it!

We do know people from both sites and love the community we have formed. My wife and I moved to the area a little over a year ago and tried a few churches in the area and liked a hand full but really liked Redeemer Chicago. Its mission is 20 and 30 somethings which is one thing that got us in the door, considering we are in that age group! I am glad that is their mission because I do believe that age group is overlooked by the church at times. That said, it is not the only age group of people at the church and all are welcome! I do value that we have a wide variety of ages and walks of life at Redeemer. I love this church and love the people in it! I have formed a great community with people at this church and am in small groups as well. I gave it 4, really 4.5 but can't do half stars :), because I am a realist and no place is absolutely perfect this side of heaven... but I really love this church and have found a great community to walk with in my spiritual journey. Come visit us! I hope you enjoy it and if you don't... I hope you find a place that you can grow in community with people and your relationship with Jesus!
