Academically, they had them work on a simple book report every week in order to start introducing the concept of homework to them, they also used Kindergarten-level math books so my son was already doing addition and subtraction problems in the 12s and 13s by the end of the year. Additionally, my son's reading skills drastically improved while at LAPMS due to the teachers adjusting the reading materials and worksheets to match each child's different reading level. Now, my son has graduated from LAPMS and attends Kindergarten at one of the SRVUSD elementary schools and he whips through the homework assignments and continues to excel in reading. I truly feel that my son's teachers set him up for success for Kindergarten and I am truly grateful for the school. When my son recently ran into his former LAPMS teacher, the teacher embraced my son and was so genuinely happy to see him again. You could just see how much they care about each child. We now have our 2 year old enrolled at LAPMS and after about a month of some tears and a transitioning phase, he also now loves going to school. His 3 teachers also are always so loving, extremely patient and warm individuals. I have never seen them lose their patience even with a room full of toddlers! I also have asked them to adjust our son's napping schedule and they have always been very accommodating and willing to make changes as needed. They also diligently provide updates on diaper changes, nap times and photos of activities throughout the day. Something I also noticed about the LAPMS staff is that I see teachers from other classrooms help in other classrooms as needed even if it's just for a short amount of time and they always do it with a smile. I feel this shows the camaraderie between the staff where they have the same goal to support and care for all students at LAPMS and they do it as a united team. I usually don't post reviews on Yelp but felt compelled to do so for LAPMS because of the very positive experience we've had. Thank you LAPMS Danville staff!

Watching the children engaged in their Montessori work firsthand really highlighted how thoughtfully the environment is prepared. A big thank you to Ms. Esra and the entire team at LAPMS. Your patience, dedication, and care truly make a lasting impact. We're so grateful!

Over the course of her time there, she has grown tremendously--both academically and socially--and we couldn't be more pleased with how well-prepared she is as she moves on to kindergarten. Academically, the preschool provided a solid foundation in early literacy, math, and critical thinking skills. She learned not only her letters and numbers, but also how to ask questions, express her thoughts clearly, and approach new tasks with confidence and curiosity. The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to make learning fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. Just as important, the school created a nurturing environment that helped her blossom socially. She learned how to make friends, resolve conflicts, share, and work together with others--all key skills she continues to work on and will carry with her for years to come. Her confidence has grown, and she now communicates her feelings and ideas with ease. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional--patient, kind, and genuinely invested in each child's development. We always felt she was safe, supported, and encouraged to be herself. It's clear that a lot of love and care goes into everything they do. We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of the DanMont community and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for a warm, enriching, and academically strong start for their child.

After reading reviews and talking with various people, Garden seemed to be a good fit for our family. Garden Montessori fosters independence while providing a warm and supportive environment where children thrive. The teachers encourage children to create and discover new things. I appreciate that my daughter has the autonomy to choose what she wants to work on or learn, on a daily basis, while still being prepared for the next steps in her education. My daughter loves learning and practicing new skills, and I feel that the teachers at Garden really help fuel that passion. In addition to academic skills and independence, Garden nurtures children to be confident, kind, and caring. I also love the flexibility and full-day options for working parents. There are very few other facilities in this area that cover childcare for the full day so Fountainhead has really saved us. I also appreciate that they invest in updating the facility to keep it clean, nice, and in good working order for the kids. Also, they have fun special days for the kids like bringing a petting zoo to school and visits at the school from the police force and firefighters. They put a lot of love and care into providing a variety of opportunities for the kids to learn. I would recommend this location for older children (age 3+) but I'm mixed on sending a little one here if you like more pro-active communication about your child. There's a staff change halfway through the day so the afternoon crew doesn't know what happens with your kid in the morning and it is not their model to give you insight into the daily happenings of your child. Not a concern as my daughter got older but would have been nice during her younger years when there was so much growth and development (and she couldn't yet communicate with me). One other thing to note is the billing department is run by one person and it's a complex system and thus, prone to human error. We were overbilled twice by hundreds of dollars and wouldn't have caught it unless we were closely auditing their confusing invoices. I hope they can improve that in the future. Overall, I would recommend this preschool to anyone looking for care for their talking child.

When my husband and I initially toured the school, we were blown away by how warm and inviting it is. We knew immediately this was where we wanted to send our son after touring many, many local schools. The school is located in the Diablo foothills and is truly beautiful. The children often do nature walks on the campus surrounded by beautiful mature redwood and oak trees. Noah's Ark strikes the perfect balance between play and education. They create a safe and nurturing environment where kids feel empowered to learn. Noah's Ark was my son's first school experience after the pandemic and the staff worked diligently and patiently with the kids who needed to catch up on social-emotional skills like sharing and learning to play and cooperate with their peers. Teachers are remarkably invested in the well-being of the kids, their families, and the tight knit school community. The teachers take the time to get to know the whole family and each kid on a personal level; understanding the child's interests, likes/dislikes, and what makes them tick. The student:teacher ratio is incredible and very low. The curriculum and educational experiences are intentional and hands on. They focus on reading/phonics, handwriting, science, and math using tactile experiences like baking, engaging with nature, and fun science experiments. They offer enrichments programs as well. My son just completed a month long program dedicated specifically to handwriting and it's remarkable how much progress he has made with his handwriting skills - and how much fun he had doing it! After two years at Noah's Ark, we feel completely ready to send him to kinder next year. The school highly values parental input and participation. I have become a better parent to my kid by learning from and partnering with the teachers at Noah's Ark. During our time here, there has been no teacher turnover which is very rare. Many of the teachers have been with the school for a long time - this speaks to the excellent leadership of the school and the quality and dedication of the teachers. The director, Mrs. Rastogi, is fantastic and there is excellent communication between parents and the school with frequent emails, biweekly newsletters etc I can't wait for my two younger sons to attend Noah's Ark!

It has taken me over a year to gather the courage to write this review, and my motivation is not…read moreborn out of anger alone, but from a place of profound disappointment and a broken heart. My journey with this school, which spanned nearly five years, was full of moments that initially filled us with hope but ultimately left us deeply disillusioned. When my daughter and I were first accepted, we were elated. I remember the tears of joy as we shared the news with family, and we even brought a cake to the staff to express our appreciation. We believed we had found a safe, nurturing Christian environment where my daughter could thrive academically and spiritually, and where she would form lasting, meaningful relationships under the guidance of a Christian curriculum and staff. Unfortunately, as the years went by, our experience was consistently marred by disappointments, particularly with the behavior of some of the teachers. What was even more troubling, however, was the principal's response--or lack thereof. Time after time, when issues were brought to her attention, Miss Westgate, the principal, would dismiss concerns or, worse, turn the situation around, making the staff out to be the victims despite undeniable evidence to the contrary. This lack of accountability was heartbreaking, but I continued to hope that my daughter was still receiving a good education. One of the more distressing events during our time at the school involved a teacher who submitted a letter to CPS, claiming that I was unsafe with my daughter because she sat in the front seat of the car. The car in question was a two-seater, and the airbag had been turned off--perfectly legal. CPS, when contacted, dismissed the claim as frivolous, noting they often receive baseless reports from this school. This was just one example of many, where the school staff overstepped, and yet no action was taken to address the behavior. Another shocking incident involved the leaking of private information from a live scan to parents who were not authorized to see it. Despite my attempts to bring this to Miss Westgate's attention, there was no explanation, just a shrug and an admission of ignorance. I had nothing to hide, but the idea that such sensitive information was handled so carelessly was inexcusable. As time passed, my daughter's emotional well-being became a growing concern. She was bullied by a former close friend, and after repeatedly addressing the situation with the staff, I was forced to take matters into my own hands. I spoke politely with the child involved, reminding her of their past friendship and encouraging her to reconcile. I even communicated this to the child's father and Miss Westgate, who assured me she would look into it. The following day, however, Miss Westgate informed me that I was no longer allowed on school property, that my behavior was deemed inappropriate. I was barred from participating in school activities I had been a part of for years, including chapel and father-daughter events. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter amicably, the school took an aggressive stance, forcing me to withdraw my daughter. When I made the decision to pull my daughter from the school, it wasn't out of spite but out of necessity. I needed to protect her, and unfortunately, staying at this school was no longer in her best interest. The final blow came when we enrolled her in a local public school, only to discover that she was a year behind academically, despite having been told that private education would provide a better foundation. This gap in her education, combined with the emotional toll of her experience at this school, has been incredibly difficult to navigate. We've had to hire a tutor to catch her up, a process that has added more stress to an already challenging situation. As I reflect on this experience, it is clear to me that the principal, Miss Westgate, failed to hold her staff accountable for their actions. Despite providing her with ample evidence of their misconduct, she chose to defend them and, in the end, made it impossible for us to continue our relationship with the school. It's with a heavy heart that I share this review, but I feel compelled to speak out. My daughter's experience, our family's experience, was far from the Christian, nurturing environment we had hoped for. I would caution any parent considering this school to carefully weigh these factors and consider whether this is the right place for their child.

I'd give this school no stars if I could. If you don't live in Danville or Alamo, find another…read moreschool. I reside in Walnut Creek, and everyone looked at me like I was poor or would question why I'd consider going there (even though my house in Walnut Creek is upwards of 3m and theirs in 1.5-2). My daughter went to the preschool for two years. Poor communication with teachers (they only communicate at pick up in front of other parents, while other schools have apps for communication. No focus on whole child, sit, read, write mentality. If you question anything they will slowly push you out. Was told after testing that she wouldn't do well at the school (she was four). They tested her multiple times without communicating that. There was no communication all year that she had been struggling (shows they don't care about how the kids are doing until testing). Ms. Kalina is awful. Very fake (most of the staff and other moms are). Shows favoritism and said "we will see how this baby turns out" while I was pregnant. Wasn't a good fit. Don't waste your time and send your child to Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church or Contra Costa Christian (some of the teachers at SRVCA said they heard great things about it). My kids now go to those two schools, are thriving and so happy. My daughter told me "I like my new school because they don't put me in time out" (a which we knew nothing of-go figure). Older facilities but genuine and loving community-everything you want for your baby and at least they have real grass. Oh yeah, we donated over 1k to have a buck with our name put on it for their upgraded outdoor area.
