Everyone at TSA was friendly. I thanked them for being there. I stopped at one gift shop. Rachel, was very friendly and helpful. She had a great personality. The next gift shop, Sida, was the store employee, was pleasant and professional. I went to another shop. Jamerica, was friendly and helpful. All the shop employees gave me a friendly greeting. This is a great airport. I look forward to flying into it in the future.

The biggest challenge is the ongoing construction. It seems like every time I fly through CLT, another section is under renovation. Hopefully the finished product will be worth the wait. Until then, give yourself extra time. If you're flying out of gates in Terminal E, or connecting between A, C, and E, be prepared for a serious walk. Thirty minutes isn't out of the question depending on your gate assignment. The moving walkways also seem to be out of service more often than they're working, which makes those long walks feel even longer. That said, there are some big improvements. The new TSA PreCheck checkpoint near Door 3 has been a game changer. If you're enrolled in TSA's Touchless ID program, the process is incredibly fast. No digging for your driver's license--just walk through using facial recognition, and you're on your way. It's one of the smoothest security experiences I've had. Despite the construction, the airport offers plenty of dining and shopping options, and the staff I've encountered have generally been helpful. CLT is also one of the busiest hubs in the country, so a little patience goes a long way. It's not my favorite airport in the world, but it's an efficient gateway to almost anywhere you want to go. Plan ahead, wear comfortable shoes, and build in a little extra time for the walk. The world is a big place. Go see it.

As a major American Airlines hub, it suffers from constant congestion, especially during peak travel periods. The waiting areas are bursting at the seams, forcing passengers to become "gate lice" because there's simply nowhere else to sit. The iconic rocking chairs scattered throughout the concourses are a charming Southern touch, but they aren't enough to redeem the overall experience. The retail selection is uninspired, and the food and beverage options are equally lackluster. Perhaps there's a newer or better terminal I didn't see, but based on my experience in Concourses C and D, CLT is an airport I get through rather than one I enjoy spending time in.

I wanted to get there early, to get my bags checked, go through security, secure, rental car, and get to the gate. Unfortunately, nobody was at the United ticket counter to check my bag. It wasn't until an hour later that I was able to check my bag. I'm told that things will improve once the construction is done. A special message to the man at the information desk, at the baggage claim area, who insisted that there were no signs indicating the rental car counters or at the baggage claim area. The picture I've posted with this message proves otherwise, as I insisted to him several times. I hope I return to this airport when they're done all the construction. I won't have to run back-and-forth through the Construction tunnel 3-4 times to get to the right rental car area. It was rather annoying.

Before even asking they refused any temporary hangar space even though the hangars were half empty. They had no rental cars. Rhey recommended the AC hotel but had no numbers, no contacts, and no rates. They had courtesy cars but saved them for "air ambulance crews" coming in sometime in the unknown future. Uber and Lyft were really Difficult because it is a small town and there arent many. Sunday am took an hour to get a Lyft and no Ubers.

You won't get any fancy restaurants or bars here, but you'll get through TSA quickly and once you get through there are only two gates! No confusing terminals.. I am hoping they will expand flights to different locations besides Florida. The only con is the only fly out on certain days, but I recon that's why the fights are so cheap, so you make it work! Staff is also very kind here.
