I've been fortunate enough to try multiple Unido shops across the globe - including the OG location in Panama City (Panama, not Florida). I will say their drinks are certainly better than average compared to others in DC. Their matcha latte price is consistently lower than other DC cafe prices too - which I can always appreciate. Their servers are efficient when it comes to making their drinks, and they certainly don't try to make it fancy (in a good way). Note that this cafe is indoors (inside of La Cosecha), so it may be loud for those ordering when it's jammed packed. I would recommend folks to go here for a standard cafe experience

    Ninety Plus Geisha Pour Over

I'm sad that it took me almost four years of living in the DMV to try Unido Panama Coffee Roasters. It's one of the vendors inside of La Cosecha (a Latin American food hall in the Union Market area) which I've been to/walked by countless times. Let me tell you. Unido's pour overs and beans are legit, as the one I enjoyed yesterday is one of the best I've had -- not just in the DMV, but in general. It is on the pricy side, but it was phenomenal. The barista did a great job pouring and I truly enjoyed the coffee. They are currently offering two pour overs -- both Geishas, but one of the barista recommended the one that's brewed with their Ninety Plus Geisha beans (tasting notes: strawberry, cacao nibs, sweet granadilla), which is being sold at $55 for 115g. NINETY PLUS GEISHA POUR OVER - 12 I was hesitant spending this much on a pour over because I've had pretty mediocre ones for this amount. Geisha can also be a hit-or-miss. Upon receiving it on a wooden tray (the coffee in a Hario carafe that I could pour into a ceramic cup for drinking), I could smell the intense fruity, tea-like aroma, which is a Geisha classic. Wow. It was incredibly juicy and floral. When I sip it hot, I taste the sweetness of strawberries very strongly, but when I enjoy it more room temperature, the tropical tartness of passionfruit is more prominent. I enjoyed it more on the hotter side since it's a bit too acidic after 15 minutes of receiving it. But wow, this was fantastic. It was like drinking a fruity tea instead of coffee, and it smelled amazing. If you like pour overs and you're a bit of a snob, I highly recommend the Ninety Plus Geisha pour over if they have it. It's probably seasonal, but I would be back for other offerings they have in the future.

I had really high hopes for this Cuban coffee shop but I sadly left disappointed. We tried the orange latte, however the espresso taste was nearly non existent. The orange was there and good, but was missing a critical piece.

Can't roast(ers) this coffee shop! I stopped in for a quick coffee on a Saturday morning. I almost missed it because it's located in the food hall, but they have a cute little nook with some seats. I got the orange latte with oat milk and was pleasantly surprised by the robust but not overpowering flavor. I would definitely recommend trying some of their seasonal flavors as they are definitely a standout compared to other places in this area. I wasn't impressed by the pastries (the croissants looked a bit pale) so passed on those. Overall, would recommend popping in and trying it out!

Great find and the perfect coffee spot for the hard to please, indiscriminant coffee lovers out there in the DMV! I stumbled on this place while riding past the Union Market neighborhood the other day, badly in need of coffee. And, so glad I did. I was completely impressed with the coffee products sold here at Unido. Also, I'd argue this is probably the best place in DC for coffee, if you're into single-source and specialty coffee brews. As a first timer, I was greeted by a Barista named Louis. This guy really knew his coffee and explained the concept of the coffee products in the store. During this time, I learned that the source of the coffee products sold were from Panama in which to be frank, I had no clue that Panama even had a global coffee presence. So out of curiosity, I was interested in trying their coffee to compare my thoughts of what they had to offer to other DC coffee 'Likes' around the city such as Sidamo, Blue Bottle Coffee, Kaldi's, Compass Coffee, La Colombe, Starbucks, and even Dunkin'! Yeah, I know....doesn't take much to outperform the latter....lol. At any rate, this place won me over. I was blown away by the flavor and taste of Unido and their Panamanian coffee. In the store, I tried a Geisha Pourover. The attention to detail, the presentation of the coffee, the ceramic cup all added to a great cup of coffee and ultimately my coffee pleasure. And the coffee itself, was delicious and perfectly brewed with a flavor profile that was nutty and chocolate. I like my coffee black and this one was perfect. I also tried an Iced Americano, at the recommendation of the Barista "to-go." The iced coffee was so rich, smooth, and full of an earthy --lite caramel flavor; which speaks to the care and quality of the beans that goes into making a cup. He added a shot of Ghirardelli dark chocolate that took this cup to the next level. In all, a great find. The vibe and atmosphere is chill and relaxing. Louis, the staff member there was knowledgeable and friendly, offering great suggestions for drinks to try. If you haven't been, I would recommend Unido....it's certainly worth a stop when in the Union Market neighborhood!

I went mid-day Sunday so it wasn't super crowded. There is minimal sitting near the cafe but a ton in La Cosecha. Barista was fast, attentive, and nice! I really enjoyed my latte it was smooth and refreshing. Also, it actually tasted like coffee and not too milky. Next time, I would personally add an extra pump of vanilla bean for extra sweetness/flavor.

I enjoyed my vanilla latte aside from there being some solid pieces of something at the bottom of my cup that kept uncomfortable getting in my straw. It did not feel mixed enough.

I had two different coffee drinks from here over the course of the day and both of them were very well crafted. They have a smooth and bold espresso that the barista pulled amazingly. Try the straight up espresso and the machiatto.

Really good coffee. The space is really cute and sort of sets it apart from the rest of La Cosecha. Love the neutral tones with old rustic tiling. They have this Geisha coffee which is 11/12 for a super floral coffee that is a Panama specialty according to the barista. I'd definitely come with others to order that. I got an Americano, that was small for the price imo. It's just one shot of espresso, but really good.

Located by Union Market, Cafe Unido is a nice stop for coffee if you're doing some shopping/eating. It's located inside a market with some other really good food options to compliment your coffee. I got a Orange Raspadura iced (even though it's cold outside, it's always iced coffee season). I love coffee that's slightly sweet but not too sugary and this coffee did a good job of that! It tastes like vanilla/cinnamon with a hint of orange and was a nice pick me up this Saturday afternoon.

I am steadily working my way through Unido's menu, and I love this cafe so much that I bought their branded insulated mug, and use it every day! If there is a wait/line, it's worth it to try some truly educational and exclusive Panama coffee. There's something for everyone's tastes and as a daily tea drinker I appreciate their high quality selection. Tip: Make sure to stop inside La Cosecha (or Union Market) for delicious Venezuelan pastries from 300 Grados Bakery.

I made a quick stop here after having several delicious snacks at the Union Market. I was contemplating on whether to have a single espresso or a matcha latte and decided on the latter. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and they unfortunately didn't have oat milk. This was a bummer for me because that's really the only milk substitute I use. I'm not sure if they don't carry oat milk or if it was just this particular day. They did have almond milk and I went for that as the alternative. The matcha latte was bold, creamy and flavorful. It also gave me a nice little jolt of energy which I needed after stuffing my face at other local eateries. The staff - which was one lady on this occasion was friendly, helpful and quickly made my order. I will come here again and press them on whether they have oat milk, lol! -ODL Connect with me! Came here to try their coffee as I was taking a walk through La Consecha hall last year. The weather at that time was perfect as well and they had the garage windows up. I decided to go with the special, La Banda Cafe and not sure what was in it, but it was amazingly good. I took my recommendation for the barista at the time. I took a seat near the window as it was a beautiful day. I pulled out my laptop and began to work an just enjoy the gorgeous weather. It's a very small area to lounge and hang out, but the best seat was sitting near the open window. A great place to people watch while sipping on a latte. Today is my second time I here and I ordered the iced vanilla latte. It tasted so good and refreshing. I saw a sign that they make their own syrups, so I take comfort in knowing there aren't any extra preservatives. I made my way upstairs to the loft area of La Consecha to do some work on my laptop. The barista on my first visit had told me that the upstairs is a hidden gem and that working up there is perfect. He was oh so right! Thank you so much for the recommendation. There's street parking and a parking garage on the backside of La Cosecha, so you'll definitely have options to park your car.

Oat milk iced coffee, no flavor, no sugar, and it was delicious!! Very high-quality coffee!!
