The kids had tacos with chimichurri and fries that looked great too. There is also lobster and grilled fish as well as many vegetarian options. Prices for food are a little higher (think 10%) than on the Malecon, but the location more than justifies it. Private, with beautiful green vegetation, great sea views and modern facilities. The sea is more open than in town because the reef is not continuous, so there are waves and weeds and the sea is less clear than in town, so different experience. Also the waves mean there are options to kitesurf for those so inclined.

I reserved through a gal named Natasha and she made sure our pickup and massages were booked. Also she handled our deposit and readjusted our taxi time pickup since our ship was late docking. I can't say enough about our driver Gabriel either! He's very knowledgeable and offers several different options for an island visit if you are staying in an Air B&B. Finally our day couldn't have been more perfect without our server Roque (Rocky) He catered to our every whim and was the Cherry on the sundae. Oh and make sure to get a massage on the beach. I would love to visit Hayhu again and it will always be one of my favorite vacation memories.

Bren made me feel so comfortable and safe and she had such a gentle energy . I felt like she really wanted me to enjoy my first diving experience and held my hand until I was comfortable. I was a little worried at first because it's a small dive operation and the seaweed was very pungent. That's no fault of the dive center. Anyways, we arrived and our gear was ready. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They loaded everything on the boat. We had to get on the boat from the shore. Our dive master was Amelio and he was awesome! I told him I wanted to see sea turtles and he took us to the right spots! I saw 4 sea turtles total on our 2 dives and of course lots of other creatures: garden eels, baby brown eels, large black & white eels, corals, fans, sponges, baby shrimps, and tons of tropical fish. I hit my 100th dive on this trip and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I would DEFINITELY book it again and again. I'm so happy we went. Please tip your dive staff they are 100% worth it!

That's how good they are! Fish thing $65 for 2kilo fish oh my goodness I wasn't even hungry and I was ready to devour this fish! Oh ask for the salsa the salsa is top-notch. if they had a bottle of salsa, I'd be buying all of it, very spicy. It's a habanero but it's absolutely delicious. The fish was great. Even the broccoli was super tasty and flavorful. Nothing on that platter was left. We cleaned the whole thing. Definitely recommend coming to kraken. They take care of you here they speaking English the English is clear easy to understand there's no confusion you even have a lounge on the beach they give you for lounge chairs set aside for you specifically for your group. What can I say I had a great experience. I wish I could be here longer. The beach itself is short because they rope it off but that's OK. It was perfect for my small children. It's not a real beach with big waves but it's the kind that you can walk in relax floats, snorkel scuba, chill kayak. Paddleboard. All that good stuff. If I come back, I'll definitely come back specifically to Keaken. Their salsa! I can't stop talking about the salsa! There's also tons of shops right here restaurants bars, everything it's like a whole boardwalk full of everything you could possibly need and again for the most part, everyone speaks English so you shouldn't have any problem. They have stations where you can rinse off they have stations where you can rinse your shoes off. Overall great experience.

We have been on two excursions with Nick. The first was in 2012, when we did a fly fishing lesson…read moreon the beach. It was so fun, and we enjoyed spending time with Nick so much that when we were back in Costa Maya in 2023, we emailed him to find out what kind of fishing trip he recommended for us and our young kids. Nick was very responsive, and he recommended that we do Fish2Dish, which is a 2 hour reef fishing trip which ends at Nohoch Kay restaurant, where they cook up any fish that you catch. He said the kids could share a reel. My son caught 9 small fish! He was so excited. The staff cleaned up the fish, and the restaurant fried them up.
