Despite assurances at reservation and a couple of weeks in advance (a special call to make sure we were on the same page), that we would be first up Friday morning, no tent by 8:30. A call got an assurance they would be there by 10 or 11, noon at the latest. Bruce mentioned they had a big job over at Lake Sherwood and once done there, they would come back and pick up our tent and deliver it. The tent arrived at 3 pm, by which time multiple guests had already arrived. Then, at noon on Sunday, July 3, they show up to take down the tent. When confronted with the fact it was rented until the next morning, the foreman confirmed that is what the contract said, but they didn't have anyone who could pick it up the next morning, the 4th, so they were taking it now. Multiple calls to Bruce, the owner, resulting in zero empathy or consideration. When suggested they come pick it up on the 5th, since it was their issue they didn't have anyone to pick it up on the 4th, he responded that our event was over, so we didn't need it anymore. That was news to the 20 people who were still attending the reunion. I asked the foreman to take note of the cars and people still on site so he could relay it to Bruce. Bruce said we only rented the tent for 1 day and it had been on site for that 1 day, so he would give no discount, even though it was reserved from first thing Friday morning to Monday morning. No discount even though delivered 7 hours late, after guests had arrived, and picked up at least 20 hours early. I suggest you deal with Kansas Rental only as a last resort, and if you have actual requirements, you note them in the contract. Even then, you have no real assurances, as our contract noted Friday to Monday and on 2 occasions (upon reservation and a couple weeks in advance), we were assured we would be first delivery on Friday morning. The fine print must have said...unless we get a bigger job. You might also confirm they will actually have someone to pick it up when the contact is to conclude, or be prepared to have the equipment removed, at the convenience of Kansas Rental. In conclusion, renter beware when dealing with Kansas Rental. Larry Bork
