(and that's me being generous) I scheduled an eyebrow wax & tint plus a lip wax and specifically booked with the BROW EXPERT. When I showed up, I was told she wasn't in today. Why is she even an option to book with if she's not working? That already set the tone. They reassigned me to a hairdresser. I was hesitant but trusted the process because, yes, hairdressers still learn waxing in cosmetology school. Big mistake. There was zero consultation. No questions, no shape discussion, no "what are we thinking today?" All she said was "I'm gonna look at your eyebrows for a second" -- and I mean literally one second. Next thing I know, she plops tint on my brows. No spoolie. No brushing. No mapping. Just... plopped. While the tint was processing, she did my lip wax. I felt wax go on both sides. But when she finished? Only one side was actually waxed. The other side still had a very noticeable patch of hair. Truly confused how that even happens but okay. She wipes the tint off and immediately starts waxing my brows. Reminder: still no consultation. She's just up there waxing all nilly-willy. The waxing itself was fine -- standard wax. Nothing special. At the end, she mumbles something about my left eyebrow and "letting it grow." I honestly have no idea what she said because she was mumbling and didn't explain anything. She tweezes one or two random hairs and says she's done. I look in the mirror and think... wtf. I'm too nice to say anything in the moment, so I smile and nod. Then I check my phone camera and oh my god. She was playing in my eyebrows like it was a playground. Uneven, overworked, just not good. At checkout, the cashier asked if I liked my service. I laughed nervously and said "sure." And yes -- I still tipped 20%. Which, in hindsight, she absolutely did not deserve. Overall: disorganized booking, no communication, no consultation, and sloppy results. I came in trusting the "expert" option and left questioning why that option exists at all. Just to give everyone a heads up. I went today to this place for a dimensional foil color and trim. My hair is short. It's a two-color process, and yes, it costs more. But the price that was quoted online was NOT the same as what they told me when I got there. They wanted $350.00 plus a large tip. It would have cost me $400 at this place and I can get the same process and cut in every salon in the town for $200 less. BEWARE. They are charging LA prices in Yuma. read more

I had my eyebrows completely botched by Angelica at the Benefit Brow Bar. She has a line as an eyebrow so that should've been a giveaway that she doesn't know how to arch a brow. I have hair, the hair is not a problem. She thinned one brow and left me with no tails, I asked for an arched look and specified that I just wanted them cleaned up, no thinning!! She called Brenda over, store manager, and tried telling me that if I wasn't happy with my service I could ask her manager to have it waived. I was trying to keep cool and said it was fine and paid. The previous time I dealt with Brenda she tried giving me a 15 % off next salon visit after Liz B. gave me the flattest blow out of my life. You will be waiting for a long time past your appointment time without the staff ever informing you that you are going to have to wait. They were going to let me wait 45 minutes past my appointment time without even letting me know how behind they were. There was no where to even sit down. They only have 2 chairs for customers to wait which were full. Horrible service for someone paying for salon services. The girl at the desk says they run behind on appointments everyday. Seems like a manager needs to step up and do a better job of managing the appointment times. read more

If you want a 5 year old to cut your hair, they'd still do a better job than jesse. I'm not sure how Jesse is even allowed to cut hair or have a job as a stylist at all. Jesse does not know to give you the color you asked for and still leaves old blonde in your hair. Jesse does not know how to layers, let alone 1 layer, let alone cut hair. Jesse doesn't know how to make the bottom layer all the same length. Jesse also likes to make you wait over 30 minutes to finish your services so he can complete another hair cut with product in your hair. Jesse also likes to hide his mistakes and attempt to style your hair with a blow dryer when you said no to styling so you can see how bad it is. Jesse also likes to attempt to cover up his horrid efforts by offering free touch ups within 7 days, like you'd ever trust him with your hair again. Jesse should have been a professional adult and admit to his mistakes and offer to take the hair cut off of my bill. I want my money back, I've talked to corporate to start the escalation process, and waiting to see if the GM will reimburse this freaking botched job labeled as a hair cut. $124 total to come out looking worse than when I came in. I'm late at writing this but, last year I had been between surgeries on my leg I was super blonde at the time and wanted to go back brunette with some blonde highlights and some caramel blends. She was conservative and which is good making this kind of transition, but I found I was more blonde with great low lights. So I went back and she fixed me up no complaints and wanted to make sure I didn't have a transition shock. The result was AMAZING!!! Absolutely loved it. When I arrived, I was greeted by the one and only cashier working. The line extended pretty far back. I needed to return some items and I was planning on shopping for products. I patiently waited and when I was closer to the girl working the front, I heard her ask for help. Someone replied to her request, because she replied something about the line extending back. I was the next in line at this point when another associate opened a register. Brenda was helpful in handling my return, however I did not appreciate her passive aggressive reply to when I looked at the length of the line and commented that I would probably do my shopping online, because the line was still pretty far back. She said sarcastically "Well, I am working as fast as I can to make sure the line goes down faster. Some items (with a flourish of her hands to the items I brought in) take longer than others." Today we were going to purchase a few gift cards at this store and their were not any available. When asking an employee she was very rude and told me that there were no gift card and that I should have seen the sign listed in the door. I purchased something else and asked if they had any paper bags instead of the plastic bags and any tissue that I could use for a gift. The employee smirked and said we are a cosmetic store and don't carry those ... (with her like oh my gooodddddd voice). This place is amazing from products, salon and skincare services. The salon is a friendly, conversational and above all listen to your hair and skin goals. The suggested products are just that, suggestions, not at all pushy with products,, not with these gals, they comparative shop with their suggestions, and recommend what is good for your hair type. I left with great hair products, skincare products and above all, color and cut that fit my face and coloring. My hair hasn't looked this good in years. I have returned for facials, hair and products just because of the salon and skincare team! Spoil yourself, life is short. read more

It's bad enough to have to wear a mask but the employee made me feel like a leper with the social distancing. She could have kept me 6ft apart by kindly asking. Instead she backed up like if I touched her, she'd die. It was humiliating as at least one customer saw it. I didn't deserve for her to be so offensive and hurtful. It's hard for all but employees need to step it up and make more of an effort to be kind whether they're having a bad day or not. Courtney did an amazing job on my hair. She took her time doing my hair by making sure every strand came out perfect. She took extra steps to make sure the result would be amazing. She had amazing customer service skills, was very knowledgeable, and made me feel very comfortable. It was a very good price point as well. I booked my hair and make up appointment over a month in advance. My appointment was at 1:00pm. I didn't get seated till 1:30pm. They had me waiting 30 minutes passed. Instead of apologizing the stylist said it's not my fault they over booked me. She said "I tried moving you around but I had other clients that are my repeat clients that I had to take care of. In my opinion, if you were running that late. Why not call let me know? They called me 3 times to confirm my appointment. I said yes every time since I booked it for an event. My makeup appointment rolls around and they were late for that as well. The stylist then states to me that her manger her pressured her into taking me while her other client was waiting because I was sitting there for awhile. All the stylist kept saying was "I'm gonna rush and try to get this done as quick as possible so I can get back to my repeat client" I book theses appointments over month in advance and they made it seem like it was inconvenience to be there. I was there from 1pm- 4:30pm. Which made me late to my event. If I wasn't passed around to three different stylist maybe I would have made it to my event on time. Very disappointed. It's sad, I wasn't the only one treated this way another girl that waited for her appointment was treated the very same way. read more

Got my hair done in the salon and it was the third Saturday in a row that I went in for a hair appointment with Wednesday and she was awesome! First time was a cut, for me, because my ends were a mess but she gave me a trim and layers and I felt so much better. The 2nd time was for my little guy because his hair was all over the place! She fixed him up with a shorter cut and he loves it! :) And this third time (yesterday) was for my balayage, I think that's how you spell it, and it came out amazing!!! It blended sooo well, I received so many compliments when I got home, from my family and friends! You were right Wednesday, the toner was definitely "on point" lol! Thank you! read more

If I could rate a zero I would. I went in to the salon yesterday and spent 5 hours in a chair getting my hair fried and after what I saw I was mortified. I cried! My hair was 5 different colors and all I wanted was a root touch up and my highlights brought up!! I have never felt more mistreated, disrespected and utterly devastated by any other salon in my entire life. Let me first say that from the moment I made my appointment I was not given an option to choose which tier stylist I wanted (stylist, master, elite). Come to find out their only master stylist was the manager, Donna (they don't have an elite) and she was too booked to take me as I had an appointment already made but just didn't know with who... Donna assured me that whoever I was going to see was "good" and I needn't worry so I was like ok cool. My only other experience with Ulta is in Phoenix and I've always had a great experience with them so I was excited to visit our new Ulta in my hometown. But sad to say, I was mistreated so badly that not one person stepped up and took responsibility. To begin,(pic #1 is how I came in) the stylist asked me all what I thought were the right questions told her what I wanted showed her pics of my hair normally etc(guys this was a simple root touch up and highlight touch up-I can't stress that enough) she decided she would do the balayage technique instead of weaving and foiling so I said ok that's fine(she is the pro right!?- WRONG). The first process outcome is pic #2. Dark brown roots orange bleach under-processed hair and then purple shampooed platinum ends. She tried to lighten my hair with purple shampoo because she panicked! So this is what I got. Manager slowly slouches over and tried to give me "options" before telling me my hair was too dark to achieve a blond color(BULL-this wasn't my first time doing this same exact thing to my hair and I am a natural dirty blonde so bleach process quickly on my hair-she was basically blaming me for the outcome. This is the MANAGER) so she tells me I can re-bleach (double process In one day!), do a bleach wash or get my entire hair toned to this ugly golden brown.(and lose my blonde!!?!-can't believe she even suggested this but again she didn't care) I hated all those options because this should've never happened and I'm worried about the integrity of my already fragile hair. I didn't know how poorly educated my stylist was to not be able to do this job on my hair?! I went ahead with the bleach wash because my hair was already fried and they promised me they could fix it! They also told me I would be charged more even though this wasn't my fault(I was already up to $200 at this point and now they're adding more). Getting ready for second process I'm waiting for hair to dry and the blower goes off so I stand up, I caught the manager and my "stylist" red handed talking crap about me AND laughing as I just stared at them for what was probably a whole minute because I was trying to tell my stylist that my blow dryer went off. I didn't call them out but I was pissed and bit my tongue because I was too worried about my hair. Finally the last two pics are the end results when I just stood up and told them how devastated I was and that would not be paying for the service. The manager was rude and pretended my hair didn't look bad! She copped an attitude with me and rolled her eyes and walked off. No apology, no empathy, nothing. I was in tears when I saw my hair- When you are a manager you are responsible for your staff and you are there to lead and to rectify any wrongdoings of your staff. You should never argue with your staffs clients as if their horrible hair is their fault! A client comes in to get taken care of and gives so much trust and $$$ to be able to sit in a chair having some sort of hope and confidence that the stylist knows what they're doing! The stylist who helped me didn't even tell me her name. All I know is she was caucasian with tattoos and had braids with different color dreadlock looking extensions. She had no remorse and didn't care the entire time. I do not recommend this salon. read more

I come here often for products and have yet to receive a service but will be shortly because 3 of my friends have been multiple times for skin services and they highly recommend the esthetician with brown hair I believe her name is Cha. My friends and I have received facials from multiple spas and they said Cha was the best most professional esthetician they have received services from and they left feeling completely satisfied. She really puts forth the time and effort to make sure your main concerns are taken care of and taken care of properly. I was planning on going elsewhere but will now be going to Ulta. read more

I went to this ULTA (my local store) and was not greeted by anyone then continued to not be asked if I needed help by anyone. The store was a mess and the staff was not dressed professional or even close to the way I see normal ULTA staff dressed. When I checked out the cashier didn't give me the time of day and just brushed me aside. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location.
