Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, the staff were excellent and then we watched the pantomime Sinbad, only 4 actors in the pantomime but it was great, I would highly recommend it. Fun for all the family. read more

Cereals, toast, bacon eggs etc you can help yourself to whatever you want.

Many hotels use quilts and they are not adjustable which means that in hot weather you cannot reduce the thickness of the cover. The shower room was excellent. Staff service was fine. The hotel is very conveniently located next to Rugby station and there is a Tesco convenience store in the same building so if you only want a pastry for breakfast that is possible. Breakfast in the hotel is reasonable for the price but not great. Sausages, scrambled egg, beans and bacon, toast cut fruit, cereals and pastries. The sausages tasted cheap but generally it was acceptable. Overall this hotel was very good value for money and a clean comfortable place to stay.

Failing that, there is a multistorey car park next to the hotel for which there is a discounted fee of £15 for hotel residents. It is a shame that the pool has been closed for a number of years, but I understand the reason as it primarily due to the running costs. All the staff I met were great. Slight problem was that my credit card hadn't been requested to add extgras, this was rectified later. I paid for a stocked minibar, it appeared to be chargeable to the room any items removed. It ws only just before checkout that I found that this wasn't the case. The signage in the fridge was confusing. Nevertheless a good size room and a comfortable bed. Although, my wife complained about the hard pillows.....I didn't find them to be a problem. I'm sure the hotel would have rectified them for my wife, if she had asked. I was recognised as a Diamond Elite member and breakfast was therefore included free of charge. The breakfast offerings were great, unfortunately, I didn't see the porridge in time and had cereal. Not the end of the world. Would I stay there again? Yes.

You take the included breakfast at the Toby carvery next door and they offer a "help yourself to veg" carvery (pork, turkey, beef) for £5.25 before 7.00pm (£7.50 after 7.00pm). The carvery was best value and I enjoyed it. Bank's cask ale at £1.99pp plus lagers from £2.45 to £2.85pp. I stayed for two nights and will definitely use an Innkeepers lodge again.

I went to this hotel with Mrs G because she had an Entrepreneur meeting there (I was not part of it) and I was the driver and chaperone :) I had planned to go out to dinner (she was having dinner at her meeting in the hotel. I had planned to drive somewhere to eat but this hotel is quite a way out of town - so I decided to eat in - I am glad that I did! My dinner was very good and well worth the money. Main course a decent curry and I spoiled myself with an apple crumble with extra custard . All good - pics attached. The room itself was on the small side but clean, big enough, fairly spacious bathroom. We got a good price - the prices they posted inside are outrageous - so buyer beware :) Review #83 2019

However, they must have sorted that out because our friends said it was OK the other week. They have a massive patio area where you can eat and watch the kids play on their decent sized play area. On the side of the pub is the working watermill that is propelled by the River Soar. They have a nice fishing lake behind the pub so it's a very relaxing place to chill out. The Mill has a couple of function rooms and an attached hotel also. The decor inside is nice and they have a restaurant section though I've never been in. Despite having a poor time last we haven't given up on the place - if they can or have sorted these little problems out it would be a 5 star place to go as a family.

The breakfast room had a lovely view of the turn in the canal. You can easily walk into Nottingham centre along the canal too, where you can get to the cool bars that are on the canal. If you go along canal the opposite way you will meet the Trent river and have a smashing view of Notts Forests City grounds. It's a nice walk too, during which we saw a family of Canada Geese. I guess it'd be a pretty handy hotel for the of Notts Forests games, as well as any of the cricket games at Trent Bridge.

However, overall hotel room comfort did not meet expectations. When we checked in, our room was very hot due to the sun coming in the windows. The AC didn't work properly and the front desk was very slow in finding someone to solve the problem. Because we faced the street, it was too noisy to have the windows open at night to get fresh air. Perhaps I would have felt differently if given a room in the back with a view of the gardens. This was our least favorite hotel out of the six we stayed in during a 7-day walking tour.

The staffs were courteous and kindly checked for availability for us. We then were greeted and seated soon after. The service at Fig was great. The tea selections are great. Quality, Service, and Experience definitely worth more than 22£ per person.
