Once inside the shop, you can peruse the lovely embossed chocolates displayed like jewels in cases. Also on the shelves are bags and boxes readily available for quick purchase. When I entered the shop, the staff kindly offered my a sample of two varieties of gianduja chocolate that they were famous for. I decided to enjoy something cold to drink in their internal cafe. This delightful room is A-i-r C-O-N-D-I-T-I-O-N-E-D !!! On the very very hot day I was window-shopping I had to have a cold chocolate drink at the Gobino cafe. The service isn't that good, as the staff remain in the front boutique area. So I have to go and ask about ordering a drink. There is a lovely booklet menu to choose your options. I got a chocolate shake and was presented with the drink as well as a small ceramic tray holding two pieces of chocolate/gianduja candy. How lovely. I slowly drank my shake and perused the chocolate and food literature that was on the shelves. This is a great place to pass the time of day. This is the place we plan to get our souvenirs and some of our own delicious take a ways as this has proven to be the most delicious chocolate in all of Switzerland, in our opinion. Honestly the bread here is not great, it's kind of tasteless. I tried multiple times in our stay and it come up flat. ( don't make that mistake) We bought a small bag of macarons from a sweet lady and let me tell you they were so unbelievably flavorful. It was so flavorful, soft and light on the inside and crisp on the outside. We came back the next day and bought a small box to eat during our short stay in Chamonix from this sweet older gentleman. Then came back on our last day, and the sweet guy who I think owns the store chuckled at us for being back so often. Anyway we bought even more macarons for ourselves and another box for a friend's bday gift. We also bought all our chocolate souvenirs for our friends and family from them. Don't miss it!

Amongst the traditional sweets, you have to taste their grand cru chocolate bars : they select cocoa beans from the best regions, and the best cocoa trees. A must go in Grenoble if you don't have time to go to Voiron, where the original shop is placed. It's expensive, but really worth the detour.

Folks working there are very knowledgeable as well. I gave it only 3 stars for 2 reasons: first, they can be hard to talk to and communicate with. I prefer stores where they take a few seconds to listen to my needs and answer questions without rushing me. Second, they aren't the cleanest store I've ever been in.
