It's wild to me to be an Uber driver in Mexico City-the metro area of Mexico City has a population of like 23 million people and when you visit Mexico City for the 1st time-you can definitely feel it. I took so many Uber rides over my 6 day trip in CDMX and just about every time I was so surprised by how inexpensive the Uber ride was.I was based in Roma Norte for me trip,which is pretty central and I took Ubers to just about every neighborhood in the city and my fares ran anywhere from $4 to $16 and the $16 fare was a 45 minute ride across town and all I could think of was how much this ride would've cost me back home in Sacramento. One ride really stood out-I was about a 50 minute ride away from Roma Norte after a UFC event at a major stadium and I was so hesitant to call Uber right when the event ended but also didn't want to start walking because the neighborhood wasn't exactly "tourist-friendly" -so I called Uber and the fare right after the event ended was only $13-i was shocked. One thing though that's different from back home-they don't have car standards in Mexico City Uber-we had so many varieties of cars that looked brand new or looked like they were barely being held together-but u know when on vacation it's best to just go with the flow and ride that bucket if that's who picks you up. Funny the only ride we had the entire trip that wasn't Uber was the last one and that was the one from our hotel to the airport and we compared prices and the taxi was a few bucks cheaper but I think that was only because he was an employee of the hotel-otherwise every time we checked Uber was cheaper. Needless to say-I fully recommend using Uber as your means of transportation as often as you can when visiting CDMX-as long as your flexible on the type of cars that pick you up-they do an excellent job in that crazy city. read more

CDMX has some of the worst traffic in the world. I routinely got disappointed when I checked the distance to different places and initially feeling relieved that "it's close" to realize that it would still take a long time due to traffic. Thank goodness for Uber. Very easy to get and use. I also heard that it's way better, safer, and more reliable than the local taxis. read more

This is a review for Uber in Cuernavaca, Morelos - very unreliable. We waited 30 minutes for a ride. 2 drivers took our ride. The 1st got within 1000 feet of picking us up, then cancelled. The second had 2 stops before he was supposed to arrive for a total of 17 minutes before pickup. He got within 3 minutes of arriving and cancelled the ride. The app continued trying to find another driver. Finally we got disgusted with the service and decided to cancel. There is not an easy way to cancel on the app. Consequently I closed the app without a driver, and we ordered a ride from Didi, which arrived within 3 minutes. When we returned I looked at the app and saw I was charged. This is ridiculous. I likely will cancel my Uber 1 membership, and will use Didi car service as I am completely disgusted with Uber. read more

Uber in Mexico City rocks. I hardly use Uber unless I need transpo to the airport. But man Uber in Mexico City is genius. Fares vary from 3-12$ US and traveling from the international airport to the historic center is about $17 US. I take Uber here daily and love the responsiveness and price. Drivers are plentiful and have not had a driver cancel on me which happened in the US at least 30 times. Thankful there is now an Uber reservation system. Otherwise, cars could be better, esthetics-wise but that's minor. read more

Absolutely horrible when you are double and triple charged for the same fare, tips added to the fare even though they received a nice cash tip. Drivers would have kept adding $$ for fares but our bank put a hold on my wife's account. We always heard use Uber instead of taxis in Mexico City. 75% of our drivers never showed up. Even though we called from the street and never left. Uber has no easy link to contest the charge. Furious when receive text asking us to rate a driver who never came. Consider calling a taxi. Uber Sucksin CDMX. !!! read more

I have been taking Uber in Mexico City since my arrival on January 12 TH, and the rest of the week from my address in Coyoacan further North in the same Coyoacan, Everybody was fine, until Thursday, Jan 16 when Miguel Angel an older man and DROPPED ME in what seemed an 'unsafe area, I TOLD HIM that it WAS THE WRONG Walmart in what seemed a 'VERY UNSAFE AREA', however, he assured me that I would find the Walmart I wanted if I went back just a block to the corner Copilco Walmart, which was just 2blocks from where I live, to just backtrack to the corner where I would find Copilco Walmart. He lied! and I was naive enough to BELIEVE HIM! I walked as at.he had told me, and found myself LOST! I asked for The Walmart I WANTED AND I WAS TOLD TO WALKABOUT 20 minutes or take a bus for TWO PESOS, in the direction the Uber driver and I were originally going when he asked me to get off. I looked at his TRIP and he listed it as if he had driven me to my CORRECT DESTINATION for which he got paid for. By the way I am fluent in Spanish, but not so wise with CROOKS! MY RATING for this driver IS ----minus, minus, minus ONE STAR, BUT ABOVE I HAD TO PUT two STARS for Uber to be able to submit the review. On Saturday, January 18 TH, 2020, I also was left waiting almost 50 minutes for two Uber drivers by the names of Pedro Alberto and Hector Hugo at the corner of 159 Centenario, Ciudad del Carmen, Coyoacan 04100, CDMX. WHO NEVER ARRIVED! They supposedly WENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, PICKED UP A GHOST AND TOOK IT TO AN ADDRESS, THAT ONLY THEY KNEW. I decided to try it for the LAST TIME, and bingo in 3 minutes Eduardo without any 'children stories arrived and drove me home.in about 7 minutes. Thank you, Eduardo! Those 'OTHER TWO' had the nerve to make up addresses, posted them and want to charge for work they NEVER DID! This is the reason I give Uber a 2 star in Mexico. In California and Florida a sure 5 star. The other drivers in Coyoacan, who took me 12 times back and forth to the theater from my home to 159 Centenarion, the Italian embassy in Coyoacan, and including the airport ride to Coyacan, also in and I give a definite 5 star! But UBER MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT if not impossible TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM!!! read more

Is it even worthwhile to complain about Uber in Mexico city? If you are going to franchise your company, follow some basic common decency and care about your clients just a liitle more. To have not even gotten picked up on more than 2 locations in a 2 day period, in the cold and rain, is beyond good reasonable business practices. read more

I've taken hundreds of Uber's in my months living part time in CDMX. I'm an American from California and my spanish is basic. Most but not all Uber drivers don't speak English so use your smart phone to translate. The know where you are going because of the app. No big deal. I've never felt unsafe, never been scared and all drivers have been nice and professional, the same way I expect in the USA. After the conversation of USD to Peso, Uber proves to be a value and much affordable option. There are many many Uber drivers so never much of a delay in arrival. I've encountered some of the best and most professional Uber drivers in Mexico City. You can tip on the app after your ride if you desire but not required. read more

I am not sure but for some reasons drivers from a distance kept getting my request instead of the ones nearby. There may be lots of competition for Uber now but the drivers are not the brightest. read more
