Upon arrival, we saw that many of the items are just out in the elements, including wooden rocking chairs marked at $495! Old, deteriorating fire bowls priced over $1,000! It seems like the owner is a collector who isn't willing to part with his things, and therefore, prices them in such a way that they're all but guaranteed to remain onsite. Overall, disappointing.

When it failed they would not take it back. I called the manufacturer and they sent me a refurbished unit. I took them the unopened refurbished unit back and they still would not take it back. Would not even offer store credit for it. Poor customer support. Sad to see, it is a nice store. Their customers are mostly tourists and they simply don't care about them.

Why do people visit antique stores?…read more I suppose there are a number of reasons, and for me, there are at least two: I never know what I might find that I may or may not have known I needed; and, I can get my steps in by walking through to (possibly) find that elusive item. There is a great selection at The Village Hound, the people are helpful and friendly, and there is adequate parking for your visit. Go there. They may have just what you want!

But what we really liked was what is affectionately known as the "The Dog Room". Lots of toys, doggie sweaters and shirts, life jackets and countless other items for sale. The owner was very nice to talk with, very clearly a dog person. We also got to meet her dog, who was just as friendly. We ended up buying our pup a new, snazzy collar and a toy fuzzy trout (yes, trout), which he loves! Great little find and we enjoyed our visit!
