One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The menu is small compared to other restaurants in the city but don't let this discourage you, we tried several dishes and everything was absolutely delicious and well prepared. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully decorated in the way someone's kitchen or dining room may be adding to the "homey" feel. Warsaw is filled with restaurants that offer delicious and authentic food. But if you want to feel like a local, and not blow a ton of money in an establishment that couldn't care less if you were there, pay Skamiejka a visit.

For example - Slavic people from Warsaw to Vladivostok like to feast on pierogi (dumplings). There are, of course, subtle differences between Polish pierogi and Russian vareniki and you can argue about who invented what in a way just slightly less heated then solianka soup at Skamiejka. Which is hot. And tasty. But back to vareniki - they are great. Both in general as well as these particular ones in the Russian restaurant that this very review is about. Try the potato ones! Going further - bliny. I tried the savory version, which was good, but I bet the sweet ones could be even better. I'm not an expert on Russian cuisine, but for me it was the best one I had since my epic day trip to Brighton Beach in NYC. Much better atmosphere too, as Skamiejka's staff was extremely nice and helpful.

OK so food is where this place bombs. I ordered Cobb salad which I ate million times before. So I…read moream rather familiar with the general idea of Cobb salad. I understand the place is in is in a trendy Golden Terraces mall in the center of Warsaw but the Cob salad they serve is easily THE WORST Cobb salad I ever had and possibly one of worse fast food salads I had ever tasted. To begin with portions are skimpy. You pay 40PLN for maybe 15 spinach leaves (I do not eat iceberg lettuce so ask for spinach). There are some cherry tomatoes. And some brown substance which I presume was meat - that was added HOT on top. Chickpeas (???!). There might have been also cheese but it was hard to discern since the whole thing was DOUSED WITH DRESSING making it into BROWN SLUDGE. If I was serving food to pigs I think that that would be roughtly the correct consistency. Cobb salad ingredients should include variety of things - Romaine lettuce (not iceberg), tomatos, blue cheese, avocado slices, hardboiled egg, bacon bits and cubed chicken. Typically with vinaigrette dressing. Not brown sludge. I wrote them an email directly but they ignored it. I guess they earned this review twice. Service was OK ambience too. But food quality was ABYSMAL.
