It is one of the best restaurants in Litomerice and I would recommend it to everyone. The inside portion of the restaurant is in a cave so you descend a few levels below street level to find an interesting ambience of modern restaurant meets medieval tunnels. Menus are in Czech, German, and English and the translations are pretty good. Most of the entrees are around 250-300 crowns (around $12-15) and the beer (Pilsner Urquell = Cz "Prazdroj") is on draft. People in my group get the schnitzel and the baked chicken usually and I have had no complaints from anyone about it. They also have a steak tartar that we always get for the table to share. Desserts are good too. Service has always been good. I do recommend getting a reservation if you have a group bigger than say 4 or 5 because the tables are small. They also have outdoor dining that overlooks the city square. Litomerice is an excellent place to hang out and have a meal. Highly recommend this place.

Nice outdoor seating, near water, green hills view, good food and beer!…read more I go to Decin once a year to visit family. This year I was there for my birthday and I wanted to take out for lunch my grandmother so our party included our teenage daughters my granny, my aunt, my fiance and myself; 6 people in all. Before I even decided to go to Kocanda I asked several local relatives and friends for a place they could recommend. Almost all of them told us to come here that the food and beer were good and the prices affordable. We sat outside with a wonderful view on the river and the green hills. The service was very friendly and the food was good. It was not gourmet food, but the kind of genuine typical food you'd expect to get in a Czech "hospoda". We were so happy, that we decided to go eat there one more time before we left from Czech. Both times we were satisfied. The second time my platter arrived when everybody else were almost done with theirs but that can happen. In reference to some previews reviews, something I would have not done was to order Mexican in a Czech restaurant and expect it to be great. When I visit next year I'll go back to Kocanda, I like the fact they have a big playground for children and it seems to be well known in the area. When you travel around the world you want to go eat where locals eat, not where tourists eat...right?!
