This restaurant/bar is popular with the locals. When we were there a wedding-dinner was happening. We made a reservation for dinner and were happy we did because it was full on this winter Friday night. Much choice on the menu. Many Czech dishes. What we had was very good, though not excellent. Good atmosphere. Very cheap. My husband loved his food. The downside to my food was the pork was rare when it came out. When I requested to have it cooked more, the waiter was confused. My pork skewer came back in about 5 minutes. It was warmer, but the pieces were still on the rare side. There are something that I will eat, but rare pork and chicken are not those. I'm just happen my husband enjoyed his wild boar. We chose this place because it was ranked so high on TripAdvisor. read more

Boar shoulder was excellent. Not sure if it was roasted, but the boar was tender and smoky. The gravy was smoky and slightly sweet. Also comes with a potato bread containing bits of bacon and celery--can't remember what the Czech name is, but it's a fairly dense, savory combination that pairs well with the pilsner. The quantity of the boar is adequate, but not great--with the bread, it's more than enough. Maybe order and app if you have a large appetite. One of the three places in the old part of Plzen that serves the dishes of the traditional Czech cuisine. Out of the three, this has the best ambiance: a highly recommended outdoor seating provides a nice view of the park. The location at the edge of the old city makes it less of a touristy place; a lot of visitors are locals. The food is good but is the general Czech comfort-type variety, the selection however is much wider than that of many other establishments (e.g., we ate pretty good tripe here), and clearly tilts towards being good for consumption on cold nights alongside with significant amounts of beer. read more

Beautifully presented traditional Czech restaurant with traditional food, great beer on tap and excellent service. Reasonable pricing. Smoking and non-smoking areas with seating outside in summer. Highly recommended for casual to semi formal requirements. read more
