Started out at the U-Haul on Eglin Pkwy with a reservation for a 20ft truck as they were out of the 26ft. Upon arrival, I asked if they had received one and they did. The up charge should have been 10 dollars more, evidenced by the advertising on wall. Long story short, they upcharged me an additional 100.00 from what it should have been. I called U-Haul Beal Pkwy and grabbed the last 26ft they had at the price it should have been, over 100.00 less with same options. U-Haul Beal Pkwy is my goto. My Story is a long one that started really horrible and finished well below exceptions after having to speak with a dozens of different U-Haul people for something as simple as a hitch install. First of all, I planed & scheduled a vacation trip out of state with an online prepaid scheduled hitch install the evening prior to leaving on my vacation. This was figured for my trip to carry cargo. This was nothing short of a complete disaster. Cost me an extra day of vacation thats also a prepaid condo at the beach. While I was at the Center Point AL location i was completely ignored by a U-Haul employee that could have cared less about me as a customer. He finely told me this prepaid scheduled work would not be done. No calls no nothing after I drove 40 miles out of my way to get this done on a scheduled job. There was only one customer at this store before me and the entire time i was their. This U-Haul Employee was extremely lazy, rude and appeared completely incompetent. He Never even apologized and eventually just disappeared leaving me waiting forever for paperwork. I was only given a $65 credit that took a week to hit my bank. I decided to carry my hitch with me for installation by others. Naturally after this setback it effected the travel plans and I didn't have room to haul this hitch. I called U-Haul Customer Service and e-mailed all the issues to best get this issues resolved where i was traveling and was really aggravated how horrible customer service, logistics and the general communications within the U-Haul network. The final day that i thought would never happen due to problems mentioned above with continuous mis information, schedule changes, Etc. When it was all done I paid more for labor to install the hitch only that I provided, than i was credited from the other store to install both a wiring harness and the new hitch. I will personally never use U-Haul again for anything. There has to be other companies that want my business and will treat me with a little dignity. read more

I do not give out 5 star reviews very often. In fact I do not give reviews unless service was really bad, or really fantastic. Happy to say I had a great experience with Collin and the hitch install I had completed on my vehicle! What I noticed during my experience and what is driving me to write this review is the following. 1. Great communication! There was an issue with getting the particular hitch I needed delivered to the store on time (not their fault). Collin was proactive in communication. Kept me appraised of what was happening, and took responsibility (again, this was out of his control but he took personal responsibility as I would expect from a leader) 2. Great customer service! I hung out at the store while I they installed the hitch. There were a couple of customers that came in with issues that could have been a negative experience if not handled properly. That was not the case here. The staff and Collin exemplified customer service and each issue was cared for swiftly and without any problem. 3. Great staff and a tight ship! Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, engaged with their customers, and high energy all during the rush of a Saturday morning at a U-Haul shop. read more

I cannot say enough about April at UHaul! My husband and I are Owner Operator truck drivers that call Ft Walton area home. We stay out for 3-6 months at a time before coming home for much needed time off. Our problem is we can never find safe, legal and available parking for our tractor trailer unit. We remembered the parking lot which was once Kmart. We tracked down April, knowing it was probably a long shot. I called April at UHaul and inquired on possible parking for about 3 weeks. She asked me to hold, that she may be able to help! She contacted the owner and much to my surprise, April extended permission for the entire period of time! I'm not sure if anyone understands what a relief this was. We are now not at risk of tickets, tow offs or tire boots! After she granted permission she bestowed a huge Merry Christmas!! That was the best gift ever! So all you truck driving people take note. UHaul at Cinco Bayou will be offering paid parking to semi trucks in the near future!! This will be huge for our area. I know we will happily reserve our parking spot EVERY time we come in for home time. Peer to peer request for fellow drivers. Please pick up after yourselves. Do not ruin this for us. I called this U-Haul on Saturday, after going thru the digital system to actually get the store on Beal, no one ever answered and then it just hung up. I went past, I waited for 20 minutes while watching 4 different employees scramble to find 1 set of keys for a truck that was supposed to have been picked up earlier in the day... I went their to rent a trailer..I got so frustrated at the disorganization that I left without anyone even saying sorry for the wait, or we'll be with you in a minute....I will never return to this store! Fantastic customer service today! Went in with my toddler to get boxes and the male attendant was beyond helpful and kind to my little guy! Gave him a cardboard uhaul truck to play with, and even helped me get the boxes out to the car! Fast and efficient service. If we weren't moving, I'd be back again! read more

I just had propane bottle refilled at the facility but the employee was courteous and filled my tanks quickly.

I was charged twice for my rental truck and dolly after I already returned it after a one day rental. I was also declined a after hours drop of from the owner. Even knowing it is U-Haul's policy to allow its customers a overnight drop off. I will not return to this location. They still have yet to return my money and a refund receipt through e-mail. read more

I want you know about the very poor customer service that I received from the Uhaul Moving and Storage at the 631 N Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, FL location. Specifically, the manager with red hair and glasses was very abrupt and rude. When I picked up a 9 foot cargo Van, they were busy and did not do a walk around inspection. I used the van for a couple of days and when I turned it back in, she told me there was a scratch under the passenger door handle and an area of red paint. None of the damage was from anything we did. My issue is related to her horrible attitude. She stated "the damage was fresh and we are responsible". She said they are very thorough and always do an inspection of the vehicle with the client. She also said pictures were taken when it was last used and there was no damage, yet she would not share those pictures (I don't believe any pictures were taken). While I was waiting to talk to her, she was talking to another gentleman in the same rotten manner. She has NO customer service skills and she reflects poorly as a representative of your company. She either needs to be retrained on basic customer service etiquette or just fired. I would be most inclined for the latter option , as there are just to many energetic, organized and customer service focused candidates out there that would absolutely run circles around this women. read more
