This review is only for the Tennis facility and classes, even though I know this entire recreation…read morecenter offers a variety of other activities for both children and adults. So for myself, and for health benefits, this past spring and summer I decided to start taking tennis lessons. This was to add a change to my cardio regime. Plus, I haven't played tennis in over ten years. Here's a few information: * General Facilities & Parking Lot * First of all, the campus is fairly huge. And they appear to offer everything from swimming, to tennis obviously, league sports like softball for adults, and soccer/football/lacrosse for kids. They even provide maps for certain walking trails. The parking lot accommodates mainly for the aquatics center and tennis courts. But I've yet to run into an issue with parking close to the tennis facility and softball fields. Plenty of spaces, but I'd say more crowded closer to the aquatic side. Lots of kids taking swim classes. * Babette Horenstein Tennis Center * Did I mention this facility is huge? Yeah, there's a good amount of courts. I believe about twelve in total, maybe more. The cool part is, six are indooor and six are outdoor. The indoor courts are well ventilated for the most part, but can get real hot during the summertime. As for the outdoor courts, they seasonally set up a green tent during the fall and winter, but remove it around springtime and summer. You can reserve a court, but they've got various rates. Primarily depending on your purpose (yes pickleball players are allowed), your place of residency, and a time of day. I will admit, it can be hard to reserve a court due to its popularity. * Tennis Instructors * Thus far I've had the two Brian's, a Bill, and a few others. So far so good as all of them have been excellent teachers of the game. Very knowledgeable instructors. From area positioning, to racquet grip holding, to hitting routine and feeling, it's those little tweaks and adjustments here and there that really help. They make the classes worth it! Well, that just about sums it up! Just note that local residents receive more of the benefits versus folks like myself that live "out of district." Like priority sign-ups if you're looking for a class. Regardless, I still find myself taking advantage of what they have to offer.

Some of the lifeguards and management didn't like me for asking them to be more safety minded when we were performing gymnastic diving. Instead, retaliation, defamation, character assassination, everything to make all the people that like me to turn against me. THPRD is not supposed to be in the business of Destroying People. It does so in a very dangerous and low life way. it uses 'hit men', staff members from somewhere else, or friends, or acquaintance to cause trouble and sabotage people's reputation in real time. THPRD needs to close down it's management team and get all new mission, not to break from the honor code like it is now breaking, and to not lie about being all inclusive when it's a party club and if you don't fit in and stay quiet, you're out and personally attacked by staff and management. Dangerous place. Do NOT go to THPRD. Did so for ten years, it is slowly crumbling to death. Get out while you can. It's too late once they get you.

Harold Eastman was a hellava city volunteer as well as with the Tualatin Valley Rose Society, the Hillsboro Kiwanis, the Tualatin Valley Garden Club, the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department. Eastman had spearheaded the pocket park but died before it was finished. All of those organizations I just mentioned chipped in time and labor to make the garden happen for the community. On May 30, 2006, a new planting on the corner of 5th and Jackson School Road was dedicated as a tribute to "Those who serve, have served, and will serve" to protect the lives and property of our nation and community. Those honored include the US Armed Forces, The National Guard, Fire and Police organizations, Medical Responders and the community itself. Why do I go here? Stealing ideas from the TV Rose Society. They know their stuff. Stealing flowers is verboten unless you dress like a burglar arrive before sunrise and have someone ready to peel out after you commit your crimes. Bus it with the 46 M-F or 48. ADA friendly.

My organization has used Hidden Creek for several years now, and when we started working with them,…read morethey were adjustable and easy to work with. However, we had our annual event this year at Hidden Creek and the experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. First of all, they're very strict about anyone even entering the building before the time designated as the starting time. I don't expect them to open the doors of the banquet hall before the starting period that we paid for, but they wouldn't even let us in the building. They would not let us bring any of our materials into the building, and they told us we were not allowed to even unload our materials outside of the door so that once the door to the building opened, things would be unpacked and ready to set up. I was told it was a safety matter, but the materials we unpacked were not in front of the door, but well to the side of the entrance. They enforce those rules very strictly and in a manner that is not particularly friendly. Earlier this year, we held a different event at Hidden Creek, in other words different than the annual event I'm writing about, and they wouldn't even let us look into the room we had rented until the time began that we had paid for. They said that the room was down a hall we hadn't paid to enter, so we were not allowed to look in the room. The facility itself is beautiful, light, spacious, and well appointed. But that does not make up for their overly stringent regulations. For example, in the event I planned, we had to add some speakers to our program, so I asked if I could extend our time by half an hour so we could clean up in time. But they would not allow us to add time, even though I had made that request well before the day of the event. It was not a last-minute request, and, as indicated, I was aware there would an extra charge for an extra half-hour. So I thought we'll just clean up faster (which we did). But unfortunately, our caterers, who were P.F. Chang's, were very late in setting up the lunch, in fact, 45 minutes late, so we had to start our program late. But even with all of that, we worked very fast and managed to finish the cleanup by just half an hour after the time had expired for us to be there. They had no other event after us, and so we did not inconvenience them. Further, there is no indication on the papers that I signed before the event that there was a late fee if we exceeded the time we were in the room. All the paperwork says is that there's a $250 damage fee. But there was no damage to the hall. I'm not arguing that there should have been no fee for leaving the venue late, I just feel that when the total price for each hour is $150, and we reserved the hall for five hours, that it is exorbitant to charge $250. I requested a reduced fee, especially because our lateness was due to our caterer being so late, which PF Chang's recognized and compensated us for, but I got a solid No. They said the contract stipulates a late fee, but as indicated above, that is not true, it stipulates a damage fee. The director of events at Hidden Creek is lovely to work with. She has always done everything possible to make our experience a good one. And I do not hold her responsible for the stringency of the regulations. I am merely saying that the whole issue of charging so much money for being there 30 minutes extra to clean up, especially when the reason our event went late is because our cater was late, is unconscionable. I recommend selecting a different venue for your event unless you want to jump through numerous hoops only to be dissappointed, frustrated and overcharged in the end.

The gym and pool are great! You'll need to check the schedule for recreation swimming times as they have classes going on at certain times of the day/week. Plenty of lifeguards around making sure everyone is being safe. It's an awesome place to have the kiddos burn off excess energy! They have two warm pools inside and an outdoor pool that is also heated. The smaller pool has a neat looking waterfall mushroom (see photo) The larger one inside has a water slide! The outdoor pool has 1 or two smaller slides for kiddos. I have yet to order anything but they do have a small snack bar in the lobby. I know they offer popcorn as I can smell it some days. Def recommend!

I was a little intimidated to be working with him initially. I've only had female personal trainers in the past, and I came into that session during a phase of life where I felt disconnected from my body. I felt very vulnerable and exposed to be reaching out for help to a really strong gym guy. During that session, Matt made me feel so comfortable. He was kind and encouraging. We talked about all of my postpartum challenges and he took notes on what mattered most to me and what I wanted from our time together. I really appreciated how he didn't assume what I wanted or needed just from looking at me. I left that session feeling empowered, hopeful, and safe in this space. (Not to mention he fixed my squat in that first session!) Over the last few months, with Matt's programming, I have gained a few pounds of muscle and lost 6% of my body fat. He writes my programs based on my schedule and what I enjoy doing. He's adapted my workouts to support my pelvic floor health which was a very big postpartum concern for me. Any fear I had of bringing up my pelvic floor to a male trainer were squashed by Matt's caring/person-first approach to training. If you are feeling vulnerable, exposed or intimidated, but ready to get some professional support in the gym, I cannot recommend Matt more highly. He's the trainer for you! In addition to my work with Matt, I began taking Reformer Pilates classes once a week with Kate. It is the most fun I've ever had while working that hard! The Reformer machine is such a unique piece of equipment and keeps my brain really interested and engaged in what we are doing. The glide of the carriage and buoyancy of the springs feel so unique to other types of equipment. It's SO fun- horizontal jumping anyone?! But also, so challenging! Luckily for me, Kate is an incredible instructor! Her cues and prompts are spot on and always help me correct my form and activate the right muscle group. She moves throughout the room and provides individualized encouragement and coaching to each of us. Kate also facilitates an awesome vibe in the class! She is fun and friendly and has created a space that feels welcoming and easy to enter into, even as a total beginner. I'm extremely thankful for the team at Villa Sport who have made me feel like I belong while also achieving my goals. 10/10 recommend.

Because I feel comfortable at VillaSport, I decided to move forward with personal training. After speaking with a few great team members, I was connected with Matt. He has been everything I needed and more--patient, knowledgeable, a great communicator, and, most importantly, someone who makes me feel at ease in a new environment. The facilities are managed extremely well and appropriately for the membership fees. Very clean: hot-tubs, pools, steam room, saunas, showers, locker rooms and bathrooms, I am confident they have a stellar facilities team!
