Me and my friends did a canoeing vacation at Tyngsjö Vildmark. They have the maps, canoes, canoe equipment, and if you like, things like tents, sleeping bags, even fishing equipment.
We had a great experience largely because of the positive and helpful attitude of the owners, a couple.
They have also a camping ground (with shower and toilet), 12 log cabins, rent out kayaks and mountain bikes. And maybe more stuff. I guess you have to check out their website.
The equipment was in good shape and we felt safe after doing a 2 hours canoeing course (not boring, trust me), and happy when we called them to pick us up after 3 days when the rain was unfortunately pouring down. That was sad for us (the weather) but not much later we were happy again, sitting in one of their log cabins, next to the fire place, listening to music on the stereo and, in this cabin, even enjoying wi-fi.
Really this is a great place either to set off on a few day canoe tour/adventure, or to sit in a cabin and spend the days for example, having yourself dropped off/picked up for a day canoeing down a river, then spend a day just canoeing on the lake in front or behind the park. There's a nice waterfall to paddel/walk to on one behind and a typical Swedish wooden church to visit next to the other lake. Then spend a day swiming or fishing. They rent out that stuff too. Oh and we were allowed to hang our tent to dry in their hanger.
They are really relaxed people. Not out to get rich from you. They smile when you tell them that you are having fun and like their business. Real nice experience. read more
