We travel all over the country...in small resort towns/communities like this you get one of two experiences 1) they make you feel welcome, like you live there...and it makes you want to live there! Or 2) You are a tourist and we can't be bothered. Two of the employees, a tall older lady...and a younger gal stood in the middle of the clothing section complaining about how crowded the store was, and how they couldn't wait for the sale to be over. Ummmm what? There were four of us shoppers (didn't know one another) all looking at one another like "They can see us right?" Another gal had questions about some art on the wall, and she could not get anyone to help her. I had 10 items to try on, you can only take 5 in...so while I was trying on the first 5, the sales woman kept apologizing to those waiting saying "she has a lot of stuff, so sorry" Sooo I didn't try on the other five. Bought three of the first 5 and felt very rushed. Bottom line I think the locals and their family/friends keep them busy enough, so no need to worry about the tourists. That's the vibe. The sales team needs to be a little more aware that we are in the store for an experience, not because we have nowhere else to shop.

The staff was super friendly, and the shop is full of unique books and gift ideas that make it hard to leave empty-handed. We ended up staying for lunch -- my husband had the chicken salad sandwich, and I got the turkey and cheese -- both were delicious. Such a relaxing and unexpected find. Can't wait to come back!

As you make your way around the shop be sure to look everywhere- up, down on the floor, on various shelves, bookcases, benches- you name it, it's covered in items for sale! They are dog lovers, bird lovers and even have fostered kittens in this shop! Prices vary- I know a little about antiques to know a good deal, but usually end up buying art instead of antiques here! They have even had some pottery pieces that my mom collected in the 80's- I almost bought last time I was in. But, that's mom's style and not actually mine. It is a tad dark inside and there are very narrow aisles between the "booths". They are filled to the brim with a mix of genuine antiques, collectibles, copies, and vintage as well as some newer items. We did a quick run through checking out prices on items our parents and grandparents used to own. Some of the things were crazy high. But others more reasonable. And we had to remember that we were in a tourist town, so there is that. It would be a great place to explore for an hour or so -- especially on a rainy day or just to take a break from the sun. You might just find a treasure...
