I find it very difficult to find honest help and above average quali but have happily discovered…read more"Your Handyman" and want to share my good fortune with ya'll. We called and left a voicemail message about a small repair job we needed help with and received a call back before the end of the day. We then texted and forwarded pictures of what we needed help with and almost immediately received a response with a ballpark repair figure. Two days later, the gentleman came to our house and quickly and efficiently completed the repair job and the cost was under $200.00. The "ballpark" figure was anywhere up to $1,000.00. He replaced some wood that looked eaten away (squirrels?) under our Bay window and did an excellent job. We are totally happy with the repair job and with Jake, who came to do the repair ... more than pleasant and knowledgeable. We will be calling on them again whenever we need help around the house.

The work product is exemplary, communication is open and frequent, and most critically we've built a trusting relationship. In addition to repairs, remodeling, and maintenance, Your Handyman DFW has hired and managed other tradesmen, as well as interfaced with my tenants and realtors seamlessly.

Issues with communication and scheduling, and work not being done as promised. During quoting he…read moreemphasized that he would make sure the work was done with quality and would come back as he needed if I was unhappy with something. This promise was not kept. For context we started a job worth about $4000 back in Feb 2024 -- replacement toilets, installing vent hood, fixing a portion of drywall and paint in 3 spots in the ceiling, and changing window balances. It is now a year and half later and I am dissatisfied with everything but the vent hood and it has been so difficult to get Mike to come back and fix things. Toilet replacement - toilet was leaking from the flange somewhere still after the replacement, he would not come back to fix after I asked him 3 times about this issue Paint - we had a portion of the ceiling painted after drywall repairs -- I had a can of paint in my garage from previous homeowner but wasn't sure if it would match. Mike went ahead and did the whole ceiling and it ended up not matching -- he still charged ME when doing the repainting, implying that I took responsibility. Lesson learned -- don't ever try to help a contractor. Overall just a really confusing experience, I should have followed my instincts and pestered about the expectations and cost but I thought we had some rapport for some reason. Changing window balances - This was the most egregious... we needed new window balances on 10 or so windows in my home per Mike's suggestion. I called him and texted him multiple times asking when he would come back to do this... it took him several months and he gave me excuses saying it was hard for him to get the parts, because he wanted to give me quality balances and not the cheap kind. When he came he didn't bring the balances, and he judged that my old balances were fine and they just needed adjusting. He actually left one window without a balance, and never got back to me about the new parts which I wanted left at my place because it was part of the original contract. Also after a few weeks the problem came back and the windows were tough to open again.

This company is great and Brian was very helpful. I had a leak under a bathroom sink and a…read morestackable washer/dryer unit where the washer had just stopped working. I had called them to see what they'd charge to fix it and when they could do the work. I'd already checked with several plumbers and they were outrageously expensive. As a side note, as of Sept. 2019, plumbers in the State of Texas DO NOT have to have a license. Yes, that means technically anyone can represent themselves as a plumber and I really had no way of knowing which of the ones I called were just "doing" plumbing work (and were really handymen) or who were actual licensed plumbers with experience. I decided that the work that needed to be done was not a major undertaking (like many of the people who had left reviews online had experienced) that would require a master plumber and that a handyman could probably take care of it. I then started researching these "handyman" companies and people in the area. I called Maintenance Pro's and got to talk with Brian. He was so nice, helpful, understanding and patient. Plus, now that the work has been completed, I know he is GREAT and did a wonderful job. He messaged me pics of under the sink/plumbing/pipes and what needed to be fixed and replaced and we spoke before I authorized for the work to be done. He then took care of that and ran some diagnostics on the washing machine. He quickly figured out that the only thing wrong with the washing machine was that, over the years, it had just collected a lot of dust/lint inside the mechanics and just needed to be taken apart and cleaned out so he did that. His prices were reasonable and he was very prompt. Plus, their hours are 7:00am to 9:00 pm so it was very convenient and I didn't have to pay someone else after hours fees. Lastly, I was able to pay the bill online which was very helpful as well. I'll definitely call him again if I have something wrong at this condo. Thanks so much, Brian!
