Duke's is in the old Chepo's space and has been revitalized with paint and decor to be a great cafe space. They even offer room for parties and gatherings! I did manage to slow down with the gluttony enough to get some photos of the ice cream (hand scooped shakes, floats, malts, and so on). However, these barely made it to the car before we demolished them!!! Worth a visit, for sure!!!

The fries could've used a touch of salt and more cheese sauce/ bacon. But still hands down my favorite burger joint now! They didn't have a full stock of the alcohol ice cream and I didn't like order any other drinks or deserts, but I am sooo curious to come back and see what's up. Very nicely painted and decorated, an plenty of area to sit both in the front and back. Food was also made quickly which is always nice, and friendly staff.

You order at the window and then wait in your car (or outside) while your order is being prepared. It was raining when we stopped by so we waited in our car. Look at my picture, it was a bunch of cheese with a little cilantro/onion which again, tasted really good but should've been stuffed with meat in them for that price. Or charge me for cheese tacos instead lol. I get it's Alaska and stuff, including food is more expensive, which I'm fine paying for but at least make it worth it. I was going to order something else but with a burrito also being $20 too, I decided against it and glad I did, cause I probably would've been disappointed in that portion size too. Complete rip off and legit headed to Taco Bell after cause I was still so damn hungry...Oh what could've been! Also waited like 20-30 minutes in line before ordering and then to get this was super annoying too lol.

On the corner of Trunk and Bogard sits Fronteras Taqueria and they are rocking the flavors. I had the Taco Trio of Carne Asada, Chicken and Carnitas. The Carne Asada was probably the most flavorful Asada I've had in Alaska. The Chicken was okay, moist, I would rather it again. The Carnitas were moist but missing that same oomph that the Asada offered. I also tried the Guisado Plate: pork short ribs bone in stewed in a Verde sauce. Super good, flavor on flavor and tender! The Mexican hotdog was basically a Sonoran Dog minus the mayo (thank god) it was good, not Tucson good, but good. The street corn in a cup was my least favorite. I was hoping for grilled corn and it wasn't. The Tajin like sauce was good but the crema was a little much. I'm not a rice and beans fan so I can't and I won't rate theirs I can't wait to go back. Great flavors and good people.
