As a whole the speech therapists are nice and competent. If you are paying out of pocket they will most likely give you to a speech assistant and not a speech therapist. There is no formal education for an assistant and costs the company much less. I would not recommend an assistant for any child who has complex needs, AAC or any speech disorders other than straight up articulation. So ask lots of questions and be sure that if your child falls into any of those categories be sure you are seen by a fully qualified and trained speech therapist. read more
