I've had Blue lagoon pool service for almost 15 years. Approx 2004-2019. I cut ties with John when…read moremy pool started to get clogged. John failed to vaccum my pool and these acorn type leaves were very hard and got into my skimmer that later clogged the line and my pump. I had to clear this all out myself. John was cool for the most part of the years, we used to chop it up about cars etc. he was aight, he would even let me have a open tab with him. It was when my pool started getting out of hand and him not letting me know I have to clear the drain of these hard leaves. If he was to vaccum the pool and take out the debris like he should have then my pool pump would've never gotta clogged and I wouldn't of had this issue. I finally cut ties with him around 2019 when he came to service my pool then just left, he would often come and it would seem like he didn't do a thing. Towards the end when he would come and go, I was forced to figure out the issue and when I didn't see him for a few weeks I finally called, he didn't pick up like usual and I said we I'm cutting ties with him and his service and he gonna take whatever was my tab as a loss cause ima have to take my future repairs of this mess he left me as a loss. Be careful on who you hire, make sure they are on top of what ever you hired them for.

John has been fantastic. He is in no rush, answers texts and calls whenever we have questions and breaks everything down to us because unlike the other company he doesn't expect you to be a pool expert.

We didn't notice immediately that they were just coming by and dumping a gallon of chlorine into the pool and leaving. They don't actually clean the pool the way our our original guy did. Not only that, but after a few complaints, they tried to clean the pool and broke the attachment of our automatic vacuum! They switched days and started coming on the days I work from home and I would see them come in and immediately leave, so I waited and watched one day and saw that they come in dump the chlorine in and leave. Seriously, even I can do that! Twice now we've found that our pool has algae growing. Of the six years we were with our original pool cleaner, never has this ever happened. We've talked directly to the service guy as well as the owner of the company many times about the lack of service they provide. I guess they don't really care about what they do, as long as they're still making money. We're finally giving up on them and are looking for a company that will actually clean our pool. It's too bad that it didn't work out, especially because we've given them so many chances.

My husband called all over for a replacement filter and someone to install it but no one seemed very interested. The few people that showed interest we couldn't even afford to have come out and look. We had done business with CCPools many years ago when it was owned and run by Will and Rita but we knew they had retired. We gave CCPool Center a call and Joel was out the next day with a free estimate and later with repairs. Joel was delightful, the repairs went quickly and easily and it was afordable. We are soooooo happy with Contra Costa Pool Center and don't mind telling anyone who asks. We will never waste time again looking for hot tub service when we know we can actually afford the best. TL;DR: One of the least responsive, least honest, least effective services I have ever encountered!…read more We bought a home with a pool, and the previous owners had been paying the Pool Doctor to service it. We took over the contract about 5 months ago. Since then, the Pool Doctor has: 1) Sent people weekly to open the gate, walk into the property, turn around, and leave. They did not realize we have cameras. They charged the previous owner for months of visits that lasted 30 seconds and did nothing. They left weekly slips claiming that they had done work they had not done. 2) Sent about 5 different technicians over the course of 5 months. Although the owner of the Pool Doctor knows about our pool's specific requirements, he didn't share them with the techs. There was one experienced tech who showed up briefly, but he wasn't informed about our specific pool so made errors. 3) Installed a floating chlorine dispenser without asking or informing us. They did not secure the floater as is recommended by the manufacturer. Floaters are not recommended for this type of pool. The floater got caught under the cover at the stairs and stained the steps. 4) Spent the last three months refusing to talk about how to repair the steps. They've said a) it wasn't their fault, b) ok, it was their fault but they would soon to fix it, c) not called for months, d) ignored repeated calls and emails, and e) refused multiple different suggestions for how to fix the problem. I will update if they ever fix the bleached steps.
