It is with great pleasure that I share our positive experience with Tom Marshall, owner of TWM roofing. During the heavy rains in February 2015, our dining room window leaked. The day before, we had some woodworking repaired on our home and the workers had to remove some roof tiles to get at the wood; so we assumed the leak was due to someone inexperienced removing roof tiles and called Tom to give us an estimate to repair the roof leak. When Tom saw where the leak was, he was very suspicious that it could not be caused by the roof but was caused by a window leak. Because we never had a leak before and the timing was so coincidental with the roof / woodwork repair, my husband and I disagreed strongly with him and said it had to be from the roof work. Tom was very patient and said he'd be glad to give us an estimate to remove roof tiles and lay new paper under them and then replace that top layer of tiles again, but warned us that in order to do it right, he'd have to go all the way to the crown of the roof, which is a large enough job that he didn't want us to spend money on that until we were sure it would solve our problem. So he highly recommended we first do a water test on the window and the roof to confirm which one was causing it. Fortunately, we took his advice, and sure enough the leak was from the window (which was fixed by my husband running caulk around it). Because Tom was so honest, it resulted in him passing up a job and resolving our leak problem with minimal time, money and hard ache. We will definitely call Tom if we ever need roof work in the future and we highly recommend you do the same. When we bought this property we knew that the roof tiles were still good but that there were some issues with the underlying paper. We called Tom (before we even closed escrow) and asked if we could save the tiles and if his crew could simply replace the paper. He was responsive and professional. A week after we moved in he and his manager came out, took a look and a few days later sent us a written estimate. We scheduled the work. Our job was to begin in about six weeks. About three weeks later Tom contacted us and said that his crew could begin the following week, if that worked for us. It definitely worked for us. The weather reports of the size and intensity of the upcoming El Nino produced storms did not bode well for a faulty roof. The guys showed up when Tom said they would and the time it took them to finish the job was what Tom said it would be. The crew was very professional and doing what appeared to be a great job. But one day before they were to finish, the first El Nino storm hit us. In anticipation of the storm, the crew had secured everything that still needed to be finished so we had no leaks and no problems. The day after the rain, the guys were back to finish the job. On the last day they were at our home we had to leave so we asked them to lock our gate when they finished up. Not only was the gate locked, but the whole area around the house was completely cleaned up; no nails, no old paper, no bits of tile, no trash. (The crew cleaned up each day when they finished, but the final cleanup was above and beyond.) If there were 10 stars, Tom (and his crew) would definitely get them from us! read more

October 27, 2022 TWM Roofing Review My husband and I had a rough year taking care of my 95-year-old mother who passed recently. This review has been on my mind since TWM did these jobs and I wanted to be sure to get it posted to let future customers like you know what a fantastic company this is. In February 2022, we had TWM put 2 new layers of felt under our roof tiles before we had solar panels installed. I really appreciated this company and its staff a lot. Lynette was the first person I talked to. She was warm and friendly and eager to help us get our project done at a reasonable cost. Lee was the salesperson and again a very warm and personable man. Rob oversaw the work, and he was on top of everything. So in Spring when my mom's house had some of the asphalt tiles fly off during those big wind/rain storms (for San Diego), we had TWM come out and replace her entire roof. This job was a little more involved since my mom had put pool solar panels on her roof. Rob was great and worked with our pool solar person, Mark Naylor (another great company to work with BTW), and helped me coordinate with him so the panels would be only down for a short time to prevent damage. Everyone in the company was honest, respectful, supportive, hard-working, and easy to work with. They got our jobs done very efficiently and kept our costs reasonable. TWM Roofing did an incredible job redoing our roof with underlayment & new tiles! After several estimates advising replacement of the tiles, we chose TWM. Sharing their years of experience educated us further on making the right roofing choices. They were the only company to walk the roof and caught that our chimney chase covers also needed to be replaced. Kindly waited for us to get that completed before replacing the roof. Our roof was done by the end of April. Took 7 days. The process to remove the old tiles via conveyor belt was so interesting. TWM likes to use smaller crews, Their foreman and his crew were amazing. I have so much respect for the work they do. It was like magic watching the foreman install underlayment. The crew was fast, very skilled and respectful of the property. They work very hard and their craftsmanship shows. On top of everything, our project manager, Rob, took such great care of us. After an unusually heavy downpour, we had some ceiling stains from a roof leak in an area of concentrated water flow. Although not urgent, TWM came out within a few days and did a thorough inspection of the roof. They explained, in detail, the probable cause and work necessary to repair it. Within a day or two, TWM followed up with a detailed estimate, including a list of materials and costs for additional work outside the quote should any structural repair/replacement be necessary, and a proposed contract. After discussing a few details, we made a tentative date for beginning work and completed the contract online. Work was started within one week. Ryan did the work and he was extremely thorough, hard working, skilled, and personable. He explained what he was doing and answered all of our questions. He worked late into the evening on the last day of work to complete the job. We are very pleased with the company and work performed. We feel that TWM did at least what was expected, and probably more, in a very timely manner with no unexpected charges or delays. We just had our roof underlayment replaced by TWM Roofing in preparation for solar and it was a great experience overall. After receiving several quotes and discussing with the various companies I found Tom to be very informative and easy to work with. He had some great suggestions such as adding roof vents and gave very thorough answers on the cost/benefit of some other upgrades I was considering. We then coordinated with Rob in regards to permitting, scheduling, and other information, who kept us informed on the whole process and, again, was great to work with. And, last but not least, their crew was fantastic. Their foreman Deibys kept me informed daily on their plans and progress, and the guys did a great job during project keeping the work area clean and safe. And the re-laid tile looks much better than it did prior! The price was competitive, they did what they said there were going to do when they said they would do it, and their crew did high quality work. I called TWM roofing a few years back to fix my roof. It was done with no problem with two very professional employee. I recently called the company back and ask them about the warranty of the job done in 2017. Lynette responded right away letting me know that I am still covered. I told her that I found a leak on my roof and need to be fix. Tom came and found that the job they did was not the caused of the leak. The area where they worked on then still looked new. With that finding you think other company will just go but not Tom, he went above and beyond...he checked, cleaned, and cover all spots that he knows will give my roof a problem in the future. I am telling you all, Tom did not leave until he found where the problem's coming from. And with all the great work he's done yesterday (3/4/2021) he did not charge me anything! My wife and I have found TWM to be an efficient, prompt and thoroughly professional company. Faced with a "squeezed" time schedule to allow solar panels to be installed on our roof, we needed to have the current roof (roofs, actually) removed and replaced first... all before leaving on a vacation within 4 weeks. Even though a miscommunication with our solar company accidentally delayed the schedule for both jobs, Tom Marshall worked magic with his company's schedule to honor his promised commitment with only a 1 day delay! His roof demo crew removed all roofing from the double-layered roof in ONE day with no yard destruction or debris left over. Felipe ("Speedy Gonzales" he says his fellow roofers call him) managed to recover the whole house with plywood expertly in just one day BY HIMSELF ! TWM's crews managed to felt, seal, trim and cover the roofs, as well as repairing some chronic leaks, and make time for solar stanchions to be installed under the shingles on our highest roof. I would like to commend Tom Marshall and his crew for an outstanding job on my brand new roof in Rancho Penasquitos. I talked to Tom the owner for about an hour before I made my decision to use his company. Tom told me he had been in business for 30 years and I could tell he takes extreme pride in his workmanship. He told me he doesn't sleep at night until everything is resolved with his customers. He was an excellent communicator and stood with me every step of the way until everything was finished. The crew did an excellent job and the result was spectacular. After the tear down crew leaked oil in the driveway he had his customer service team power wash the driveway. Honestly it looked better than before as they got rid of old paint stains. I am fastidious in my expectations but Tom more than exceeded them. I found two spots on ceiling and suspected roof leak above living room. TWM was recommended because TWM is multi-services company including entire roof replacement, and roof repair. Lee completed the inspection, and Qing proposed the repair. Qing explained details with findings, materials, price, warranty, etc.. She gave me strong confidence to accept the proposal after conversation. Rob deployed team 5 days earlier than original schedule, and Jerry & Jacob completed roof repair 2.5 days, including unplanned Plywood replacement. Jerry is really a professional foreman telling me any abnormal findings, and also showed me photos of before/after roof repair. Absolutely stunned that someone we picked, without personal references, turned out to be such a great guy...fantastic company....and true-to-the-penny estimate and final cost. Have been in our home for 12 and a half years and felt it was snug as could be...until the July rains that backed up water on the roof and leaked it into our home. Excellent on all accounts !!! . . . TWM re-roofed our apt complex, did all that was promised & more, plus they beat the competition hands down on their pricing, warranty/guarantee & materials. They were on time & cleaned up any & all debris. I had one question about a month after the job was done & Tom took the time out of his busy schedule to come down from N County & inspect it himself just to satisfy us both. Feel really confident about TWM Roofing. They've done some preventative work that is really helping extend the life of my tile roof. I would seriously recommend checkups! Recently we had a small leak and didn't worry about who we could trust to do it. Tom came out quickly, prepared a thorough estimate and his crew was there to fix the problem - during the rainy season - much quicker than we'd expected. The repair people were courteous, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Tom also fixed an important flaw that was caused by our added rain gutters. A leaky roof is awful enough.
