I cannot recommend these lovely ladies enough!

I love my cut and style. Meg was just so nice and it was a great day with her. The entire atmosphere was inviting and fun it was a great experience.

I moved here a couple years ago from out of state and the most stressful thing about moving far…read morefrom home isn't finding an apartment in a decent neighborhood, or making friends (though both I failed at miserably lol), it's when it comes time for that first haircut and you realize you've only trusted your hair to one person for the last 12 years and they are now 13 hrs away and you've got to find a new stylist. This was one thing I was blessed with good fortune and discovered Nuance. They were originally located off of Rt 9 near a friend I was staying with in Cohoes, and they just happened to move to Malta where I was heading when my apartment finally became available. (2 months late. But I digress-),they were welcoming and I was so lucky to find a stylist on the first try who listened to me about what I wanted, how my hair reacts not only to certain styles but cutting methods (razor-cutting is popular but my hair is a cursed, demon-possessed thing if it's own like the snakes on Medusa and turns into just that ). Not only is the entire staff friendly and pleasurable to interact with, Kelly makes sure I am always happy with everything before I leave. Satisfaction guaranteed, if you get home and don't like it she'll fix it and work with you til you do. She (like her fellow colleagues I've seen with their clients) is knowledgeable and stays on the up-and-up in her skills-I love hearing about the seminars and events she goes to, mostly because I selfishly know it'll work in my favor . She has made great recommendations for my hair that actually worked, and introduced to me the magical (albeit probably witchcraft haha) hair semi-permanent defrizzing process that is a Brazilian Blowout. Anyway, I can't recommend them enough. They're a cozy, smaller group of stylists with great talents and amazing personality. It's almost like hanging out with your gal pals after a hard day at work- they even have wine . They have excellent customer service, whether it was working me in at the last minute because of family coming in from out of town or rescheduling because of my crazy work schedule at times, they have always tried to be accommodating and still friendly and nice about it-which anyone who has been in customer service knows is not the easiest thing to do, amiright?! Anyway, if you're looking for a stylist that makes you feel brand new when you leave instead of looking for a hat and someone else to fix it, I highly recommend the ladies at Nuance.

I sat with Mia and explained my hair situation, which was the result of one of the worst haircuts I have ever gotten. I ended up with a great haircut, a complete fix (which was a miracle) and my next appointment

By definition, a sanctuary is a place of refuge or safety, and this salon most def lives up to its…read morename. Bursting with creativity, it's a safe space for getting experimental, whether you're chopping off a few precious inches or looking for the most perfect blonde highlights. Finding a salon and a hairstylist is like dating: you have to play the field a bit, get together a couple of times, weigh your options, and ultimately decide whether they're worth settling down for. It's exhausting, but once you meet the one, there's no turning back. Lucky for me, the stylist I visit, Meghan, is a wizard, and hasn't let me down since. In fact, I doubt any of the stylists here let their clients down, because they're all just so awesome and talented; Sanctuary Salon is basically like a revolving door of killer hair where you never leave without feeling like a million bucks. (a million-hair?) Today, I arrived for my 3:30 pm appointment, and the place was poppin' for a Wednesday afternoon! Known for its incredibly cool team of stylists and colorists, the salon has made a name for itself, and since I see a stylist whose Instagram handle is @alittlemoreblonde ("A Little More Blonde"), I know I'm in good hands when it comes to my blonde hair (give her a follow to check out her work!). Meghan manages to give me not what I requested, but something even better. It's always glossy, pretty, and doesn't look too 'try-hardy.' She's also tuned in with the best of hair-color technology, as it seems Sanctuary's team of stylists frequently hosts or attends continuing education events (I know this bc I peep their social media, duh.) Best of all, the hair color and highlights she gives me always grow out like a dream; there's no harsh line of demarcation, and people compliment me on my color even months later. Today I left with a really great transitional "fall blonde," with my locks showing off a super nice, dimensional-yet-subtle ombré that is a new look for me, so I'm pumped to rock it out this season. I never leave without booking my next appointment, and I already can't wait to for my Holiday 2019 glow up. Hopefully, you're prepared for a long-term, committed relationship, because you're bound to fall in love with Sanctuary and one of its talented stylists. Here's to love, health, happiness, and really, really great hair!
