It's hard to explain how much she's better, but I think it has something to do with her teaching ... hair... in KC years ago and moving back to small town Nevada. She doesn't just get a feel for what will look good on your face, she uses some magical powers to quickly get an impeccable read of your personality. I didn't know her that well the first time she cut my hair, but she pulled out the character she found and convinced me to never cut my own hair again. She just moved from Galerie 307 to Spalon, on the square of Nevada, and the new decor is just adorable. You walk in and can't believe you're still in Nevada, Missouri. Everything is very modern yet comfortable, the music is always just barely noticeable so you can enjoy some conversation while you get your beauty on, and they're always busy. In Nevada. It's so fun to see! Randy is hilarious, and though he's only been in once when I have, was just an added bonus to the ambiance. They do massages, facials, manicures... I can't keep up with everything they do, but this place is THE place. In fact, the boyfriend and I have already made the two hour drive from Kansas City to Nevada just to have our hair cut by Lori. You just can't go to anyone else after Lori... you just can't.

For sale there is new jewelry purses and finishings but there is also a consignment store. I found some treasures in there. That is not why I drive from Overland Park to Louisburg to get my hair done. I go mostly, for Jennifer the stylist who I believe is an owner. Jennifer is over the top to make clients feel that you are her only priority. Not to mention her mad skills with hair and make-up! I also attend Frankie's ladies night out once a month. This evening is not only a fun party with lots of great vendors anything you book for the future is half off if you book on ladies night out. I know there is great salons in the KC area but Frankie's is my favorite.

I've been to Sundea García many times. She's good at cuts and especially good at color. Y habla español. Cons: The selection of retail products is minimal. It's also rather small and can feel cramped if too many people are there. The only real waiting area is across the hall in the fitness & physical therapy center (where Fox news seems to constantly be on the TV). Each stylist seems to have a loyal following and stay busy, so walk-ins might have a hard time getting in. The most unique thing about this salon is that it's in a hospital. Not only is this a very out-of-the-box concept in this region, but it is an excellent amenity available to patients and their visitors. Having been both patient and visitor, I can assure you that there's nothing like being getting your hair and nails done to make a girl feel human again! Every hospital should offer this. And of course, the salon is open to the public... you don't have to be hospitalized to use it. There's a parking lot on the north side for the salon and fitness/PT center.
