One of the many reasons why I chose this program is because the low student to teacher ratio allows my children to have the guidance and attention they need and deserve. The result of this is that the teachers really take their time to communicate, teach self regulation, and redirect my kids. Parents always think my kids are much older than they are because their communication skills are incredible and they have really learned how to self regulate, thanks to the teachers! American River Montessori has a wonderful outdoor space where my kids can learn all about gardening, have the space to run and creative play, work on art projects and have outdoor picnics. They are always creating something new and unique for the kids to enjoy. Oh and they have chickens so my littles love learning about animals and gathering eggs. They also spend a considerable amount of time working with my kids on different subjects (with a hands on approach) such as math, sciences, language, and different cultures. American River Montessori offers a well balanced program and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Our frustration level was very high. He had hearing issues till he was five and that was causing delay in his ability to read. They suggested to talk to Bill at Huntington in Folsom. Bill met with us and tested our son for reading. He was at pre-school level at that time. Bill suggested a program in coordination with his school teacher. He even went and met his school teacher. This was an important decision for us. The program costs a bit as it will be one on one sessions with our child. We were presented with a plan and it was up to us to accept it. My wife and I talked about it and we decided on sending him to Huntington as it was an investment in our child. This was in October. His program now ends this month. It was a six month plan. This is my son today. A very positive confident kid who loves to read. We cannot be happier. He is at second grade level already. We cannot believe the transformation that happened to him. His attitude in everything else he does has changed as a result. He is a confident young man! All the credit goes to Bill and his Staff!! We thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Back then, I developed serious safety concerns about the care my daughter was getting at her first daycare provider, enough to want to move her and a coworker recommended Claire's. I had toured a few facilities while pregnant, and this time, my focus was on the Montessori day cares. After visiting two or three facilities offering Montessori type curricula, I was convinced that Claire's was the best available for my daughter and went for it. The transition was difficult for my 10 month old, but her caregivers were patient, understanding and attentive to my daughter's needs even at full capacity. Within a month, my daughter settled in and I never looked back. Fast forward 1.5 years, my daughter has moved through their 0 - 18 month room, 18 - 24 month room, 24 to 30 month room and are now in the 30 - 36 month room. Each day, she comes home and surprises me with the new things she learned, how polite she is becoming, how she is learning to be neat and orderly, and how independent she is becoming, which helps me appreciate the value of a Montessori education. Her teachers at each room are all wonderful, supportive ladies who are easy-to-talk to and have been partners with a good sense of humor in my daughter's growing journey as she navigates time-outs, one biting classmate, sharing toys, potty-training, vocabulary-building, friendships and all the fun stuffs a toddler gets to enjoy. Claire has been very accessible throughout, and makes an effort to keep the grounds and facilities safe and in good working condition. Switching to Claire's was the best thing i could do for my daughter and my family. I returned to work with the confidence that my daughter is in good hands, and has been able to work more effectively without unwarranted worries and distractions.

My oldest started Kumon when he was in first grade. At first, he found it challenging to keep up…read morewith all the packets. A few months into Kumon and being consistent with keeping up with the packets, he has learned to make it something he just has do everyday. Eventually, getting through Kumon daily became second nature and he just does it with minimal assistance or reminding. He's currently in 2nd grade and reading long chapter books and doing 2 digits division and multiplications. My kindergarten just started Kumon a month ago and I enjoyed spending time with him to get him through the packets. Surprisingly, he hasn't complained much. He's just excited to learn how to read just like his brother. Ms. Pandya has been so patient with our family to work through some schedule conflicts. She replies promptly to emails and really helped us achieve the most benefits out of Kumon for our children. Having being at both location (Pleasant Grove and Douglas) we really like the Douglas location. Lot of shopping we can do while we wait an hour for our kids, added bonus!

My child attended this preschool from August to December 2024, and as a parent of a child on the spectrum, I was hopeful and optimistic about his experience. I communicated my son's struggles with new environments to Jennifer, who assured me that everything would be fine. While my son did have a challenging start, after three weeks, he began to adjust and thrive. We received weekly pictures and kind messages from Jennifer, which reassured me during tougher days. However, a few months in, I noticed unsettling changes in my son's behavior. As any parent of a child on the spectrum knows, regression can happen for various reasons, and I initially attributed it to illness and the challenges of being around new peers. I tried to address these behaviors at home, relying on strategies I learned from his previous occupational therapist. Then, an alarming incident occurred. After picking him up one day, my son revealed that a classmate--whom we'll refer to as Student A--had hit him. When I asked if he informed the teacher, he said yes, and described how Student A could be both nice and mean. I didn't think much of it at the time, believing the teachers had handled the situation. But then, on December 29, everything changed. My son came to me in distress, saying that Student A was bullying him, throwing things at him, and even touching him inappropriately. He confided that he hadn't told me sooner because he feared that Student A would come to our house and harm us and our dog. Shockingly, he said this threat originated from his teacher. My son was in turmoil, hyperventilating and terrified of the repercussions of speaking out. This incident has fundamentally altered my son's ability to play and interact with others, not only at school but even at the park. We immediately brought this to Jennifer's attention, as well as to our son's doctor. While Jennifer initially reached out, I later sent her a detailed email outlining the entire incident, yet to this day, I have not received a response. I filed a report, but the unfortunate reality is that the young ages of the children involved make it difficult to pursue any action--especially when the teachers deny any wrongdoing. It's disheartening and infuriating. My son has been profoundly affected by this experience, requiring therapy and now grappling with trauma that could have been prevented. I urge parents to carefully consider their options when selecting a preschool. Ensure that your child will be protected and supported. My son deserved better, and no child should have to endure what he went through. Please, take this into account when making your decision. Your child's safety and well-being depend on it. I'm also willing to show anyone proof of the messages that were sent back and forth to Jennifer ( the messages contain more details of the incident that happened)

When looking for a day care we asked friends AND also looked for a place where we wouldn't feel judged (do all parent's feel they might be screwing up?) When we started her at Country Hill Montessori her language skills were mediocre, she wasn't very social, and both my wife and I were quite worried. Our worries were ultimately unfounded as from the first day the teachers and staff were extremely patient (both with us and our daughter). She was understandably upset but everyone went out of their way to reassure us AND console her. Over the next week or two she started feeling more and more comfortable and over a year later she actually enjoys going to "school". She has multiple teachers and teacher aides that she adores - and our experience is that ALL of the staff and teachers are wonderful and insanely patient. I'd mention them all but I figure they'll know who they are without mentioning them one by one. At present our daughters language skills have improved exponentially, she has "friends" that she asks about, and we couldn't be happier. While my wife looks forward to when our daughter will move on some day, I find myself wishing we'd never have to :)

I HAD NO KNOWN LOCATIONS FOR MY CHILDREN , THEY'RE FATHER WAS A FLIGHT RISK. I had found out my children were going to this school , I PROVIDED ALL INFORMATION SHOWING I AM THEIR MOTHER AND THEY'VE BEEN IN MY CARE (the father had his girlfriend on all the records for the school claiming she was the children's mother) this school asked for no type of proof , RECORDS, ANYTHING! I informed them they can call law enforcement (I had all proper documentation) just for the school to call their dad to immediately pick them up . This made it so much MORE DIFFICULT TO LOCATE MY CHILDREN AND CONFIRM THEIR SAFETY! This school IS HORRIBLE AND SAFETY IS NOT A PRIORITY AT ALL! The school must realize they were VERY WRONG because I pulled my children out of the school after involving Folsom Police in an effort to locate my children AFTER ALL THIS MESS ! They're fortunate I don't get an attorney and sue the school district for negligence. ANOTHER THING , when I called the school to inform them I have located my children and I HAVE EMERGENCY CUSTODY THE WOMAN IN THE OFFICE HAD THE AUDACITY TO ARGUE WITH ME! THIS SCHOOL IS A MOCKERY !!
